This is an actual conversation I had with an employee at the drive through today. Me- Can we get three cheeseburger happy meals, please? Employee- We no longer serve cheeseburger happy meals. Me-Seriously? Employee- Yes. Me- What are the choices? Employee- Hamburger or chicken nuggets. Me- Can we order hamburger and get cheese on in? Employee- *sigh* Yes. We then got iced coffee with three cubes of ice in it. We asked for sugar for our hot coffee and they gave us two different kinds of artificial sweeteners before deciding that they don't have sugar any where in the restaurant. read more

The Hispanic lady that works the drive through is super disrespectful, you'll be greeted with things like "what do you want" and "get yourself inside" When you finally get to the window you'll be told how "your order is a pain in the ass" and "just pay me" Like is this for real? Everytime we stop, no milkshakes. Today was no different, was told we're not making milkshakes today. So I ordered a coke, was told not serving that either today. I told him to cancel my order and left! Not sure if I'll be back or not. read more

The bathrooms really need to be maintained. Hard to believe when it is only 8 a.m. that they could be this bad already. Food was typical McD. This was the first time that we were forced to find an alternative to our Starbucks daily addiction, as there wasn't any store for miles. We thought we'd try here for our coffee because we had heard that it would be very reasonably priced and that it would be comparable in taste. NOT on both counts. A slightly improved McDonald's located on the 50 west highway. It has a Play Place and is newly renovated. Tip: BOGO on any drink - smoothies, frappes, coffees, daily from 2pm to 7pm. Service was slow, though, and workers moved without purpose. Busy location. We were served iced coffees with little ice and one of the iced coffees was not filled all the way up. read more

Sometimes the best breakfast is just getting a basic sandwich from McDonalds. You know the menu, you know the set up. The only things that are reviewable with a McDonalds are the cleanliness and the service. Service. Everything came out quick and hot. No mess ups with my order and no pricing problems. The people working behind the counter either were competent or very good at their jobs. Many times I arrived right at opening and they were ready to serve customers. The whole property seemed fine to me. I never ate a meal inside the restaurant because I was always heading to work. The drive through worked efficiently as well. Parking here was easy, and the parking lot is designed with lots of egress options. For the fast food options available in Ely, this would be a safe bet. read more

McDonald's is McDonald's. You know what to expect on their food, so this review is based soley on service. They are pushing their kiosks for food, which isn't that bad, but that young guy helping me was not friendly and just lazy. I made small talk and asked If these kiosks would take away their work. He said he didn't care because he was joining the military. He truly didn't seem to care about his job at all, and that was apparent in his actions with his coworkers and his customers. I ordered my food, and normally it takes less than 5 minutes to get it. This time it was like 15 minutes and they weren't busy. The guy who took my order was just talking to everyone and not really working. My food sat there for like 10 minutes. He said oops guess I forgot to give you your food. He laughed about it and I had to ask for my cup for my drink. He said, oh yeah huh. And that was it. He forgot everyone's drink cup who was in there. I like McDonalds in a pinch, but wasn't happy with this specific service. read more

I don't really review places but this needed to be reviewed. Please if you're looking for somewhere to eat while traveling just look for a diner or honestly wait. This place definitely isn't worth your time. I got a McGriddle and the egg was very discolored and as a former McDonald's employee I know what a in date egg looks like. I took a bite out of it and it was just horrid that I had to spit it up and when I looked in the griddle there was a piece of hair In my food. Service wasn't very well either. I don't like to really call out fast food employees for their attitude cause let's be real it's not the best place to work but sometimes you gotta fake it till you make it. read more

I came to this McDonald's and received excellent customer service. Nisha and Francis were quick to greet us with a smile when we walked in and took our order and got our food really fast. I had the misfortune of eating at the Ely McDonalds on 10/23/18 at about 6:00 pm. I went in and ordered and decided to eat in the dining area. In my 15-20 minutes of being there, I heard staff bantering back and forth with "F bombs", racial slurs, and generally rude comments. One employee, Mike, couldn't complete a sentence without the use of an "F bomb". Whats worse is that is is a children's playhouse McDonalds which had the door propped open ... thankfully, there wasn't any children in the area. There is obviously no professional oversight. An update on how McDonald's handles customer complaints. After a bad experience, and contacting McDonald's, I received two things in way of apology. 1. I got a coupon for a $1 hamburger, only good in Nevada. The original meals (2) that were ruined cost over ten dollars. Also, the closest McDonald's to me, in Nevada, is about three hundred miles away... so unless I want to seriously trek for a $1 hamburger the coupon is useless. I call this grave corporate incompetence. 2. I got a phone call from the Ely McDonald's manager. While I appreciate a sincere effort, I suspect she was reading a form letter, and only doing so because she was required to do so. I only go to McDonald's when traveling, for convenience. Now they have reinforced my low opinion instead of making a genuine effort to address a legitimate concern. Be advised... read more

By far the worst McDonald's I have ever been to. Food quality and taste not up to par. Cold hard cheeseburger, frys cold, cokes mostly carbonated water. They know this is sub standard and they don't care!! Orders wrong all the time!!! . How is that you say, it's McDonald's! Good question, really good question. Pros: It was clean, and has a nice play structure. It was easy to get to from the main road. Cons: The workers were completely unaware of the menu, weren't clear on our orders and now the manager wasn't very strong either. We placed our order, it came back wrong, then we tried to correct it and it still wasn't right. They gave us our money back saying "they look like honest people" It was the manager instructing the cashier, when we were issuing our concerns. read more

It is a busy McDonald's. Not too busy to stop us from getting everyone out of the car for some time on the playland, but busy enough that I'd recommend stopping at the Shell Station across the road for fuel and cleaner bathrooms first. Staff is friendly and food is just like every other McDonald's. read more

Food was ok-they actually still have the Asian salad :o) Service was slow and the team behind the counter were not all. "pitching in". Bathroom horrible. My husband basically caught a McD employee peeing on the seat in the men's room (he entered the stall as soon as the employee exited ). So he got the manager to walk back & see the mess. We then see the identified worker leave, eat our meal, and 20 minutes later my husband re entered the mens room & no one had cleaned the mess up. read more

Something has to be really wrong for me to give a one star to a restaurant. We travel through Ely every October and McDonald's is our no surprise place to eat . We were driving on highway 50 again in July this year and a very interesting thing happened again. So the last three times we have eaten at this McDonald's we have gotten very sick. It was going out of my wife at both ends (same time) I had a horrible reaction myself. Ely has a pretty nice bathroom at the city park. So last week , 9 months before that than a year before that. Is the time line. The order was the same plain McDouble and iced tea. I know it's not usually exciting. But thy driving highway 50 searching for a bathroom. I don't come here very often, but when I do, I get told to pull into the reserved space, EVERY TIME thus far. Today it happened, and I waited for 15 minutes! I had a simple order! Not to mention, it was not as fresh as it should've been for how long the wait was. I usually like stopping through on my travels, (as I drive through Ely quite a bit) but over the past few weeks, I feel as if customers are neglected with poor service. This review is for a young male employee who came in to work while I was stopping in town to do homework with their wifi. He was bussing tables, greeting guests and offering to take trays away as if this was 5 star dining. They may push you to use their modern kiosks but at least some staff have old fashion manners and customer service skills. read more

I ordered a burger, pulled up to the drive-through and waited. FORTY FIVE minutes later I still didn't have my food so I went inside to ask them what the hell the problem was and the only two employees in the place were wrestling over something. It looked like a little glass figurine. While I was waiting for them to acknowledge my presence I noticed one of them wasn't wearing shoes. It's also worth mentioning that there was trash everywhere and some of it looked like it didn't even come from the restaurant - like it was from inside someone's house. Honestly, this is by far the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. The lady manager is disrespectful, rude and snobby. Sodas are disgusting like they machine has never been cleaned. Tables are always dirty when we go in. Drive thru takes FOREVER. Every time we've gone the fries are old and the burgers are cold. This particular McDonald's is remodeled. Looks pretty neat inside. We are passing they the down and needed to find breakfast. Food was fresh, but tables were not. There are few customers it's pretty slow and plenty of staff and they still don't clean tables. MANAGER make sure someone cleans tables ones a while. read more
