One of the worst McDonalds I have ever been to....and Ive been to this one a TON of times because its right near my house in Encino. The reason I gave it such a low score, is because of the service and their employees. Ive had several problems with their lack of caring for a speedy service for their customers so Im going to write about a specific time.....I order a Quarter Pounder meal without oninos (im allergic). So after waiting and waiting, I finally get my order. Sit down and realize there are onions all over the place. I immediately went back and explained to them my situation. They were a bit rude though, sorta smerking as if I was being difficult. THEN, get my burger "re-done" and sit down.....I check, and it turns out, they thought it would be easier to trick me and just remove the onions and hand me the same burger. Boy was I upset at this point. Im usually the person that deals with it all, but this time, I wasnt going to deal with it. Long story short, I still go there because its right there and on my way home, but it never fails that they seem to be completely slow and dont care about their customers.......OH and by the way, I know Spanish. What's this, a crazy vegan reviewing a McDonalds?! Yes, my friends, it's true. But I'm not reviewing any old Mickey D's... Nope, I only review the cool ones. Why? They. Have. SWEET effin' TEA!!!!!!!!!!!!! As I work not-too-far away, I noticed the poster in their window advertising sweet iced tea for a buck a few months back. I ran it by my Southern BF, who misses sweet tea like polar bears miss ice caps (he finds it essential for survival). I, on the other hand, would just be happy to be hooked up to an IV of true-blue southern sweet tea for the rest of my days. It's like morphine for the soul. So a few weeks back we bit the bullet and rustled up some MD's sweet tea. And holy CRAP was it sweet! Sweeter than any tea I remember from NC, to be sure. So now Justin orders one and I order one, but I only drink half of mine and give the rest to him. Then I watch in amusement as my boyfriend falls into a diabetic coma resulting from a 40oz sugar fest. I also enjoy that this McDonald's does cool things like Earthquake Safety Day, and seem into doing community-oriented stuff in general. Also very kid-friendly, with the exercise-video games. And I also remember enjoying their Egg McMuffins sans Canadian bacon in the days BKWV (Before Krissy Went Vegan). read more

I've ordered food inside and taken it to go several times at this location. Service had been ok until yesterday afternoon (a Wednesday around 4:15). Two other customers received their orders before I did. When I asked the person in the dark clothing wearing a headset (manager?) if they were working on my order he didn't even reply. My number was being passed again when I inquired again. This time he said he was waiting on a burger. My order was not that large (4 burgers and 3 fries). When my order was finally ready this man did not call my number but just shoved the bag toward me on the counter. What every happened to customer service? With homeless looking folks always hanging out in the dining room and overall poor maintenance this is not as nice as it once was. The kids video games are all broken yet sit abandoned on the wall. Booth seating is town and floor tiles in the kitchen are broken. This location has been neglected for awhile now. Come on franchise owner....FIX up this location. The McDonalds across the street from my office started selling the McCafe specialty coffee drinks a few of months ago. It's supposed to be major competition for Starbucks and McDonalds has been rolling out the drinks in stores across the country since late 2008. I had my first opportunity to sample one of their mochas yesterday. The price is certainly cheaper. The large cost me $3.29. A similar sized latte at Starbucks is usually about a dollar more. However, it seemed clear that the McDonalds staff had not yet been adequately trained to produce the drinks. When my number was called, I found my McGriddle sitting all by its lonesome on the tray. I had to remind the counter person that I had a mocha coming. When I finally got my coffee, it was presented nicely, with an attractive swirl of whipped cream and a decorative criss-cross of chocolate syrup. It tasted pretty good, too. There was a decent espresso flavor that was actually stronger than the most recent Starbucks drinks I've had (which seem to be getting crappier as the price keeps going up). Unfortunately, there was more whipped cream in the cup than coffee! Clearly, the problem was with the training. There's no way McDonalds would want their employees garnishing the coffee drinks with $2.00 worth of whipped cream. Of course, after all these years, they still glop half a cup of tartar sauce on a Fillet o' Fish, so it's possible that they may never get it right. I hate to bash McDonalds employees because it's so cliche, but the learning curve for being a decent barristra may well be beyond the capacity for most of the remedial folks behind the counter at Micky D's. read more

I love McDonald's! There I said it. And this one has a great location with huge amounts of parking. The interior design is quite nice and stylish too. So why 3-stars? Their ice-cream and shakes are only available half the time. Seriously, one day they either have ice-cream or the next day the machine is broken. This happens more often than not. I'm at the point of just driving further down Ventura Blvd. and visiting the other McDonald's and forget this one all together. read more

I'm not a big McDonald's person; I probably only go a couple of times per year. The only reason I went in here today is my husband was hungry and I needed a place to change my baby's diaper. I actually suggested McDonald's because I was certain the bathroom would have a changing table. It doesn't. Strike One! This McDonald's has a lot of design issues that don't make sense. When you walk into the restaurant you have to walk through the line of cars for the drive though. There is no way around it. I had a stroller, and the handicap ramp is very narrow. Since you are also walking through a line of cars that is bumper to bumper it is not easy to use and I actually had to wait for the line of cars to move up to get through. Strike 2! The inside of this McDonalds is decorated really well, which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. Also, if you are looking for a place to park your car in the shade and get high this parking lot seems to be a good choice. Probably won't be back! read more

I know that no one goes to McDonald's for customer service... but if someone is going to be client facing at least know your product. I went through this drive through at a slow time of night and placed my order. I ordered nuggets with my usual dipping sauce. When I got to the second pick up after paying at the first I check my bag of food (because I'm at McDonald's). My dipping sauce wasn't there, just a thing of BBQ. I handed it back to the lady and mentioned that this is what I ordered at the speaker box and she informed that they do not carry what I wanted. Not that they were out, but that their location does not stock this specific sauce. I'm not looking for fancy food... just don't sell or offer what you don't have. I asked for my money back and after a few moments of the worker looking at me trying to figure out if I was serious turned around and disappeared for quite a while. Then came back with my money and said, "here". Ugh.... I wish I could quite those nuggets but I can't. I will definitely quite this location though. read more

McDonald's - Burgers Near Me - Encino, California

I'm in favor of this McDonald's over most franchises I've visited. I'm not an avid McDonald's diner -- probably haven't had a Big Mac or Chicken McNuggets since I was a kid. But when I want coffee, fruit or an English muffin, I go here. Yeah, those are fairly healthy items. This one is conveniently off the 101 on Haskell. So I'm inching my way along the 101 and Haskell appears -- aha, time for McDonald's. (Or Corner Bakery which is also nearby.) I also likely have had a beverage at that point and the McDonald's restrooms here are nicer than most. The people working here are really friendly. The dining room is fairly nice with padded leather seats, free wi-fi and a little Nintendo Gamecube area for the kids. There's no playpen for the kids to run around like maniacs in but that's OK. The drive through is a bit funky too. You order on the east side, roll around the front and pick up on the west side and exit from the back. So entering as a pedestrian requires avoiding a 360-degree track of drive-through vehicles. But it works as a one-stop location for food and beverage. read more

Watch out! The manager here is a tightwad that will try and screw you every time you go, as well as he's just generally rude. I gave him the benefit of the doubt the first couple times but repeated visits and observations with how he is with other customers have shown a clear pattern. A few visits ago I noticed my fries had no salt. I went up and asked for salt - the manager, ( you'll recognize him as a guy probably in his 60's, grey shirt with tie, dark mustache, looks middle-eastern in decent) acted like I asked him for a kidney transplant as he hesitantly took out a hidden canister of salt packets. I returned several times when this guy wasn't there with no issue. The other day I'm there and once again an issue with this dude- he said my order was ready, my drinks weren't there and I said I needed my drinks- he barks "YEAH give me a minute!" even though he called out my order... gives me one of the drinks, I said I needed the other, in a huff he hands me a small, I said I ordered a large, now he's really upset as he switches them- like it's all my fault and there's literally no difference in sizes. My wife had to go up to the counter to request something and watched him try to short the people in front of her on the drink size too! Once again the staws this time are hidden and have to be asked for as well. Maybe he's the franchise owner or something but corporate needs to get in there and force him up to quality standards... it's Mcdonald's I shouldn't have to beg for Mcdonald's standards and have to watch out on being intentionally shorted constantly. And guy if you're reading this- you're managing a MCDONALDS- people go there because they know what they're getting and the Mcdonald's standard hasn't changed in decades- stop trying to make it your own shoddier version where you save a few pennies- you hate your job and it obviously isn't for you so find something else dude! read more

I consumed my favorite filet-o-fish meal here tonight and it was simply wonderful. The burger and fries were cooked to perfection. Even the coke drink was not flat! There was a little too much tarter sauce in the fish burger but it was balanced out by everything else. I will definitely come back here! read more

This review is only for their breakfast. We were staying at the nearby Courtyard Marriott and didn't feel like eating there and walked down Ventura Blvd. We had eaten at the IHOP across the street the day before, but wanted something lighter to eat. We ordered an oatmeal ($2) and a sausage mcmuffin ($1 - this was a special). The oatmeal came with pieces of apples and raisins and was surprisingly good. The sausage mcmuffin was rather ordinary, but what do you want for $1? We ate there again the following day. We felt satisfied and now believe that you can eat comfortably and inexpensively at McDonald's without loading up on fatty foods and high carbs. read more

Location is NOT 24 hours. Their ice cream machine somehow breaks every night after about 9pm. Unacceptable. Might as well just close at 9pm.

This is probably the worst mcdonalds i went too. I had placed my order and paid for it but the worker at the second window said "hi" in a bitter way hands me the bag and immediately turns to walk away and as shes turning i asked for some bbq sauce she just drops it in the bag and turns and walks away. I get home and see that all she had gave was fries. I went back to the drive thru and the worker was chill about it and said sorry and when i got back to that second window same worker who had gave me the order before just hands the bag and walks away. I've been going to McDonald's since I was a kid so I take my McDonald's very seriously. The problem with this location is that the staff mainly includes teenagers and young adults who lack the basics of customer service skills and overall professionalism. What really bothers me more than anything is when you place an order and it's custom they usually tend to mess it up. Lastly, going to this location during nonrush hour times you'll look forward to getting cold fries and food basically it seems like the food sits around ahead of time rather than being made to order, rush-hour would include early breakfast, noon, and 6 PM Nonrush hour would be any other time. Oh and if you're looking for a late night treat Friday through Sunday you're in for a really exceptional time in terms of customer service and quality of food I hope you can understand I'm being sarcastic. Whoever is the owner of this location needs to get more involved in the hiring process I don't seem to have any issues with the McDonald's in Sherman Oaks but this location is an absolute disaster avoid it at all costs only go there if you're absolutely desperate and starving, terrible management and no leadership from supervisors and lack of care for customers and the bathroom is usually disgusting. read more
