There never seems to be anyone behind the counter to help. Given that this McDonald's is located near a transportation hub with MTA Subway and LIRR, one would think they would have someone at least nearby the counter often during peak hours for customer service and hand out orders. The counter and dining room are always void of anyone available to assist customers during peak hours. It is often that a queue forms to wait. read more

The layout of the restaurant was changed with more kiosks and smaller counter area (noticed same change in other locations). This location is less maintained nowadays- the tables aren't clean and there's litter on the floor. We usually pick up mobile orders only. Used to be able to see order numbers and status on a monitor- should be brought back bec now, customers crowd around by the counter to hear an employee call out numbers. There's a smaller window with usually one or two employees only to help customers. read more

This McDonald's does not have a menu screen in the cashier register, which is odd. I guess given the fact that there are many self checkout kiosks so there is no need of a menu. I ordered the spicy chicken nuggets that was $9.99 for 20 of them and found out that they were very good. It was not that spicy though. They are pretty mild in my opinion and wish they were a lot spicier. Lots of spacious seating in this one and it's pretty clean and very modern looking. They renovated all the McDonald's to have that modern look. Happy meals now include toys that you can choose, whether it be a toy for toddlers or a Nintendo Mario toy. The bad thing is you cannot choose the specific toy. Happy meals are now healthier with Apple slices and milk boxes rather than fries and soda like how it was in the past. read more

There is an adorable sign "Welcome to Forest Hills" on the wall by the counter. The decor of McDonald's FH location is clean, bright but limited-spaced compared to other branches. However, the service was kind of reluctant and the staff served everything slowly. I ordered a cup of latte on their app and pressed "I am here" button when I arrived but it took me 20 minutes to get my order. The latte was still decent with the same standard as usual but we were upset with the long wait. read more

This is my go to McDonalds, when iam on 71st. This restaurant is very spacious, very clean,and the food is really good .I love there chicken nuggets with ether barbecue sauce or sweet and sour sauce. They are seasoned just right. This particular location is rarely crowded, plus the staff is very friendly and courteous. And this being the only McDonalds on 71st.it is in an ideal location, not to busy in this particular spot.accept around school time,when the kids get out ,the establishment can get really crowded. I felt like I was going to get robbed the whole time I was here. This McDonald's is so sketchy at night time. I literally ate my 4 pc asap and got the heck out of there. Went to buy an ice cream coin today; the Indian female employee in Macdonald made one for me but she didn't wear any gloves or mask. When I took the ice cream coin from her hand, I saw her peeled nail polish on each finger, which is extremely disgusting. Then I told the manager, she didn't even say sorry, just made another one for me with porker face. After that I saw the manager told the Indian female employee, but her face was shown WTH and unbelievable. Employees in all Macdonald restaurants are required to wear at least gloves who are interacting with customers, effective on March 21st, 2021. See attached pic. Let's preface this review by reminding that minimum wage in NYC is at $15 and a McDonald's manager can be making up to $62,000 (plus I believe they get bonuses and such). With that said, there is no reason for why the employees appear bored, grumpy, or rude. Customer service at this facility is unfortunately terrible. Not sure if the employees are disgruntled bc of lack of management support, and/or management doesn't train employees well bc they appear to care less themselves. -also, the restaurant doesn't seem kempt or tables cleaned regularly, as For the bathroom, my advise is to think twice about using the bathroom. As for the food. It's McDonald's! But the French Fries could be a little less salty (a lot less). read more

I don't get fast food often but I was in the area and we haven't had McDonald's in a while so we wanted a quick "snack." I used my phone to check if there were any coupons available since I never pay full price for junk food. There was a b1g1 for quarter pounder/Big Mac so that was perfect for us. Love using the app since you can customize the burgers and pay everything, all you have to do is wait for your number to be called. My burgers took a little bit longer than others which was expected. Still it wasn't too long and I always ask for no extra salt, no pickles, extra onions. Not an issue. The quarter pounder tasted better than before...fresh not frozen does make a big difference. Again we eat fast food only once in a while. It satisfied our need...we didn't even get fries, just burgers. I prefer this location over other ones I've been to in Queens. Afterwards, we picked up some poke for dinner later on. Service was fine. They do work hard, especially when it gets really busy. When we went it wasn't packed. So rare.. My number and my name was called so it was so easy to do pick up. I mean just use their app if you don't want to deal with people. My 3 stars is for the atmosphere. The menu kiosks are not totally equipped to handle simple tasks which makes it painstakingly difficult to place an order without being slightly annoyed. After many hours within a two week construction timeframe, the modern looking Mcdonalds reopened and remains quite a popular stop, it was packed inside. Much of the menu plays no role in my decision making -- that is, once it was announced that breakfast is to be served on a daily basis, everyday. My weakness and what menu item does take my attention is the classic Egg Muffin on a biscuit. Combining that with the McCafe coffee being a great upgrade from the previous version, four bucks is a fair price for what you get. read more

Stopped by with my grandson who refused a home cooked breakfast but didn't want to eat at McDonalds because "it's unhealthy" I got a coffee , he got a chicken McGriddle and an orange juice.No added sauces. While not the epitome of customer service, this location is still a viable last resort for late-late-night food when most of the other food vendors on Austin St. have retired for the night.
