Ate here when I received promo, spend $5 and receive a complimentary Smokestack. I arrived on a Saturday 12 ish. Placed my order and waited 5 minutes. Sat down and started eating the burger, tasted cool versus piping hot. The fries had a crispier exterior, browner crust and less fluffy interior than usual. I was so hungry so I continued eating the fries and slowly nibbled on the burger til I got to it's center - cold. It's not cold cuz of the slice of tomato and leaf of lettuce. I can safely say I've never been to a bad Shake Shack since I first began going to the franchise 8 years ago. It's one of the more pricier burger joints but it's definitely worth it's money in service, quality and overall vibe. I can always come around to any location and expect high shelf service and it's no exception over to where I went. Best Smashburgers in the game, nice tender chicken with the right amount of crisp, fries that could possibly beat out McDonald's in the taste test and nobody is touching the shakes because they own that department. I totally understand things happen with appliances, however, one of the hottest weeks thus far in NYC in the 90's having your AC not working & having workers still work seems unethical to me. I haven't been to this location too frequently but I will say they are much more organized and clean and efficient earlier in the day. I scheduled my order for pickup to take to the beach and it all worked out very well. The chicken shacks and our fries were crispy and warm all the way to the beach and we didn't have to wait a long time. When we have dined in, best time is to go on the weekdays when it's not so busy. I placed an online mobile order +15 mins in advanced and maintained the same amount of patience when I had to wait another +15 mins to receive my order. I believe it was the runner for the orders going out that sent an employee to tell me that loitering was not allowed and me + my partner needed to leave. I showed them the mobile order and told them I was simply waiting for the kitchen to finish with the order. The embarrassment should have not been to the employee sent over; but the person that sent them. There was a time whenever a Shake Shack opened in other parts of NYC, it would become an automatic celebration with lines for days come opening day. Given this was the second ever location in the borough, the hype train was coming in hot and has cooled down a bit after all of these years. Regardless, I think FoHi is the right place for one of New York's most celebrated burger chains. The location scouts for Shake Shack did their job well. This store is located in the heart of Austin Street and sticks out in the best way amongst its more antiquated neighbors. Ordering is done at the ground level with a nice second floor dining area with a slight view of the neighborhood. Parking is a drag, but that could said for any of the businesses on the street. The food is Shake Shack quality, which generally ranges from solid to very good. Most everything from their traditional shack burger to the newer options, gets a thumbs up. I give them a lot of credit for being so on top of their delivery / takeout game during the pandemic and keeping that momentum even to this day. Where I think they will often fall short is how often they mess orders up. I don't think I've walked away from this place without having some kind of dispute with the order. Normally, it's a cinch to order directly from their app, but I either end up having missing items or stuff that is made incorrectly. Sometimes there's a stale quality to the food when it's been sitting out for a while, which is bound to happen when they make things quick. The issue is that it's not always reflected on the app or obvious in person. Overall, they certainly not the cheapest option (#1) and the service really varies: when they're good, they're great. When they're not, I'm almost heading for the other direction. My wife and I order pretty regularly from here. We ordered last night and noticed that the food was cold and was clearly left at room temperature. We decided to still start eating as we were hungry but after a few bites we noticed that the beef was not cooked. Shake shack doesn't do medium rare so this was both cooked improperly and then stored at room temperature. We know the room temperature was caused by shake shack and not the delivery because (1) we saw on the app that the driver was waiting at shake shack for over at least 15 minutes (2) we live less than five minutes from shake shack (3) it was not freezing outside last night. My wife and I now have food poisoning. I think I've written one or two yelp reviews before the whole time I've had yelp but felt compelled to do so bc this was unreasonably unsafe. read more

So, I sent a review when I came with my friend and Shake Shack sent me a credit towards my next purchase. So, I thought I'd give em a try after coming back from watching the runners at the NYC Marathon. So, the taste of both my chkn sndwch and fries were actually pretty good. But, the food was really cold. I added cheese to the sndwch and it wasn't melted; so, I removed the cheese. At least I gave it another shot and confirmed that they're just not a good place to eat and considering a simple meal is almost $20. I def rather go somewhere else! I almost walked pass by this Shake Shack and had to peer in the window to find it. It was a Sunday and there was a street fair and so many pedestrians outside. As you walk in there is a line with one register, there are kiosk where you can place your order. Sorry folks, wee bit tech challenged and prefer to go to a register and place an order with someone. It was a bit backed up with one person in front of us that had questions. Staff ask us to use Kiosk. I had no idea and just waited which did not took too long. Once order placed, receipt and pager given to you like other Shake Shacks. Towards the back was the dining area and where the restrooms were located. Noticed stairs- more tables and chairs? It was a grab and go type day. My friend had a plane to catch. Did not have time to walk all over the place and check out all the facilities. This place reminds me of a fast food joint like a McDonalds. Guess, I was spoiled by going to the Shake Shake out in Westbury, Long Island. Now, that was a fun place. Whole different vibe. Thanks to out-of-state travels, I got to debut 3 different fast-casual burger chains all in 1 month: Smashburger and In-N-Out Burger in Vegas and Shake Shack here in New York. While In-N-Out seemed to enjoyed the most hype in the media, partly due to its operating vicinity in Western US and thus Hollywood, the New York based Shake Shack appeared to be the hottest burger joint in the Northeast. Though not an aficionado of burgers, I could readily tell the difference in quality of a Shack Burger, but not its Western rivals. I enjoy the texture of the beef, the buttery buns, and whatever ingredients they put in its secret sauce. Even the tomato seemed fresher and the lettuce greener. Now why only 4 stars? There were only 1 line with cashier, and 4 touch-kiosks with no taker. I decided to wait in line since there were only 2 people in front of me -- and in case I had questions since it was my first time at any ShakeShack. I was quickly the next in line; however, there was a problem with the receipt or calculating the correct changes for the previous order, and I was stuck waiting for the next 10 minutes! I was really frustrated. Since the closest touch-kiosk was within an arm's length away, I tried to sneak an order without losing my place in line. Unfortunately, when I was all ready to check out and pay, the screen flashed an error message - something about white list and out of range! After the cashier finally put in my order, I dreaded the next round of waiting upon joining the horde waiting to receive their orders. Luckily, I didn't have to wait too long -- either that, or my expectation was way too low after the infuriating ordering process. Oh, another miss: there was only 1 ketchup pump and it was out of ketchup! So the quality of the burgers was able to make up the very negative experience and poor operation. Our favorite burger is definitely shake stack which served with juicy patty and fried mushroom. The fried mushroom was amazingly addictive, the filled cheese was creamy and the outer layer was crispy. We also love their fries, it was fried well, soft inside and not soggy at all. Basically like any other shake shack, though I don't know if I'd order what I did again. I usually get a burger but wanted to try their chicken, so I went for the little bites. One was super batter-y to the point of being wet (it didn't help that they were overly oily) but the rest were decent. The classic lemonade was good along with the blood orange lemonade. The service was fast and the restaurant was clean. Fries were good as usual, and my partner got the usual single burger. It's basically self-automated ordering here; I only saw people ordering via the iPads at the front. I guess staff was there if you needed but focused mostly on just making the food. Shake Shack is one of my favorite burger joints in NYC. It's often compared to In-N-Out Burger for some reason but they do not compare in my book. Back to the review.. Being a long time customer of the Madison Square Park location, I'm grateful to have a Shake Shack so close to home in Queens. Hell I'm grateful this location is in-doors. I've been to this location a few times but my last visit was a great one. Granted it was packed (going on the weekend will ALWAYS be packed) but with the installation of the self-order kiosks my visit here was a delight. The kiosk asks for your phone number so instead of getting one of those crazy buzzers you receive a text instead letting you know your owner is ready. I like this so much better than the buzzers. If you come here (and you eat beef) I highly suggest getting the Smoke Shack burger because they come with delicious peppers. Oh and try the cheese fries. They are quite yummy. read more
