Came in to order dinner and multiple staff members were cleaning. One was cleaning the soft serve machine and two were cleaning the dining area. The food was just the basic McDonald's fare, but it's always great to see employees taking pride in their job. They also greeted us which shows good management. read more

If you're looking to take a break from the chaos and busy-ness of Gettysburg and get a meal while you're at it, this can be a viable option for you! Their burger prep can use some improvement, but the overall food quality here is excellent otherwise. I get my usual nugget meal here (whether it's the 10-piece meal or a twenty with a drink) and the nuggets are consistently *perfect*, or at least pretty close to it each time. However, I do not appreciate getting surprised with root beer from the soda dispenser when I intend to get Dr. Pepper when the latter runs out; on the bright side, the Coke is always available and has never shown signs of running low. The staff are pleasant to interact with; the stellar customer service is consistently present in all my encounters with them. Although it gets busy at times, the environment (both inside and outside in the drive-thru) is calm enough for me to eat my meal contently and in peace with sufficient space around me. read more

Quick and easy on a foggy weekday morning. I went inside so that I could add the ice cubes to my "McDonald's hot" coffee.My order was assembled quickly and accurately by a crew that was on the ball. It's great for driving food as you make your way along US30 or US15 but there are plenty of better options in Gettysburg for breakfast (try the Lincoln Diner) and dinner (Garryowen Pub). I seriously cannot remember when I last ate or stepped into a McDonalds, it was many years. We were on a road trip a few hours in and needed to eat. We stopped here since really the options were scarce. The food was just fine for McDonalds it looked like either it was a newer location or renovated since the décor looked pretty nice. The service was ok, I ordered a combo meal which I thought came with hashbrowns, mine just had the sandwich and coffee (not that I needed the hashbrowns). The restaurant isn't very big and the area where you order was quite cramped if you have more than 5 people it gets pretty tight there. The food and service were fine for what it was, I didn't have any grand expectations considering its fast food and its McDonalds. read more

First of all, no problem with the food. My Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit as very good and the Fruit & Maple Oatmeal was ok. This location is one of the worst laid out McDonald's I've ever seen. It's a modernized McDonald's rebuilt to look more modern. Seating is far and few between with the new style seating, when eating here I noted many people got there orders to go. The ordering area is crowded by a poorly placed long table. The soda fountain area was quite messy. The building needs about a 15 foot addition in the front to accommodate additional seating. The fryer temperature is the same for fries and hash browns. It seems like they just don't like that they've elected to serve breakfast all day, and not serving hash browns with breakfast is what they thought of to deter people from getting breakfast. We love Gettysburg...Beautiful area with lots of nice places to shop and eat. Just getting the day started and was a little hungry but was holding off for a nice place to eat at so we stopped at McDonald's, which I do not recommend this location. We quickly found out while placing our order in the drive-through the service wasn't all that Friendly. We ordered spicy chicken nuggets, and they were out of the mighty hot sauce so I chose a few other sauces which I did not receive. The spicy chicken nuggets were dried out and not all that fresh. Ordered a Shamrock shake and asked for it to be half-and-half with chocolate like I do at every other McDonald's I visit and it's never been a problem. The employee said we can't do that here. When asked why, the employee couldn't provide a specific reason why not. I'm mostly give places a second or third chance before I make a decision but after this experience at this McDonald's, I will not be back. It's just funny that we try to do our best to keep the restaurants in business with everything that's going on right now and they simply cannot give me fresh chicken nuggets, with the sauces that I requested in a little bit of chocolate in the Shamrock shake. When we ordered we were told cash only. Whatever it happens however this also means no receipt. When I got to get my food I only got one of my two meals. Then while we were standing there waiting for the manager, one young girl was making a coffee drink and she put too much whipped cream on one and when she put the lid on, the whipped cream poped through the hole and as loud as you have to talk in that TINY hole in the wall....she looks at another co-worker and said...."OH that looks like a hard-on huh?" Smaller of the 2 McD's in this area --- other is south end of town on Steinwehr Ave (US15 Business). This one gives a definite priority to drive-thru. Often walk-ins stand at the counter waiting to order while multiple vehicle orders are taken and completed. Food is the usual McD fare. All size sodas, iced tea or coffee (regular type) are $1 all year. Restrooms are small but well maintained. No playground, but are a few tables on town (west) side of parking lot. Burger King about 1/4 mile east on US 30 is less busy and Wendy's near there offers lunch and dinner. Both have drive-thru. read more

I've never truly been impressed with McDonald's but I have to say that this one is the most contradictory one I've been to. It's the nicest designed, modern furniture and tabletops but when you actually want food, you're in trouble. A friend of mine and I walked in to grab a coffee. I got my drink almost instantly but when my friend wanted his Mocha, he never got it. A few groups of people came and went, getting the exact same order. When he asked for his drink finally, the cashier was reluctant to go make coffee. Without a word, his coffee was practically tossed at him. I'm going to avoid this one in the future. read more

All McDonald's are the same, however, the quality of service wasn't good. I get a black and white shake at all McDonald's. This one wouldn't allow it. Which is fine, I got over it and went with just vanilla. They then forgot our drink and gave us a small instead of the ordered large. When asking for another, she said that she already gave it to us. We told her it was the wrong size. At this point we did just want to get back on the road, so we left. I don't recommend this McDonald's though and hope the service gets better! read more

If I could give this McDonald's a NEGATIVE I would I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, the smart mouth kids behind the desk were mad because my husband ordered a McChicken no lettuce and they tried to just wipe it off so when I asked for a new one the young lady came around and got the one with lettuce they came back and was laughing both walked to the trash can and looked to see if he ate it, walked back laughing and the one said "she's looking" they both looked and laughed, I think they need more supervisors there that are a little more mature because if someone did something to the food that we ordered I would have come on glued, you don't just wipe lettuce off a sandwich stop being lazy and make a.new.one! We have eaten at several McDonald's along our travels, as they are convenient for breakfast. We have never had any issues such as we had at this location. Don't know if they serve breakfast all day, but we were there at about 10:30 AM. I ordered an Egg McMuffin & a hash brown, my husband ordered the big breakfast which also comes with a hash brown. They told us they were out of hash browns & substituted fries. We both ordered a coffee. They gave us one, & we had to ask for the other one. When we received our breakfast, the fries were barely warm & tasted old. My husband's breakfast was cold. He returned to the counter & was told they were out of pancake mix. So he got a Sausage McMuffin instead. The muffins were as expected, hence the reason for the 2 stars. This is a small McDonald's, but had nice seating. However: service was rude & not good, & I have never eaten at a McDonald's that ran out of food items. In addition, about 10 minutes after, we noticed another customer with a big breakfast like my husband ordered. We don't know if it was freshly made or the one that my husband returned. So beware, that although this is just McDonald's fast food, there is something seriously wrong here at this location. read more
