I am staying at Homewood Suites next door and do not have a vehicle bc I flew in from St. Louis. I tried walking through the drive through bc I manage a restaurant and everything is generally closed by the time I get off. They completely ignored me when I went to not one, but both drive through screens. If they couldn't serve me because I was walking through they could've at least told me so (I asked with no response), but instead they chose to completely ignore me. I get that you probably have homeless/ drunk people try to do this occasionally, but I was in dress clothes just trying to get a meal. Very disappointing. read more

This location is always so clean and the staff is so so nice and helpful. Sue the manager is seriously SO sweet! We ordered a happy meal with a cheeseburger and adding bacon. My daughter got a few bites in and realized it was missing. My other two kids were asleep in the car and the drivethru line was wicked long. So I pulled into a reserved DT spot and called the store. She answered and said she'd send someone out with the right burger. Not only did she do that, but she gave her another fry and some cookies too. So nice!! I ordered door dash from McDonald's. I had $10 worth of missing food (vanilla shake, mcdouble, mcChicken, large fries). When I called McDonald's to see if I could get my food - for 20 mins straight- I received no answer. I feel "robbed" $10 worth of food at mcdonalds is more than you'd think. They did however randomly throw in 2 apple pies, as if to compensate for what we were missing. I got no answer to the phone and could not voice my complaint. read more

Despite the fact that there were tons of employees working in the kitchen my order was not ready after waiting a long time. I ended up walking out and abandoning the idea of getting food there. Easily the slowest, most dysfunctional McDonald's in the area. With the amount of traffic that this restaurant sees, they should be organized and we'll staffed, however, they certainly are the opposite. There is a constant line at the drive in, always waiting at least 5 minutes. If you choose to go inside, there is always only one person working at a register so if you're lucky enough to only get stuck waiting behind 2 or 3 people inside, you're having a good day. The wait is ridiculous and the quality of food is pretty poor, even for McDonald's standards. The last time I ordered an iced coffee, it was missing a third of the cup! read more

They rang me up for an egg white delight breakfast. I get up to the window, and the woman rings me up. I go to window number 2, and some Mexican lady says if I have a completely different order. I tell her no, i had an EWD meal. She snaps at me saying "that's not on my screen!". I tell her "well it's in MY recepit". She snatches it from me, mumbles some spanish, then a manager I guess comes by, completely covered in tattoos on his arm (real professional dude, cover up next time, this is Glastonbury), and he says "we dont sell that anymore". Then says "I'll give you you're money back." I been a restaurant manager for 13 YEARS, and you never EVER say that to someone whose putting money in your pay cheque. Instead, he should of said "is there anything else I can offer you"?. Terrible reflection of the McDonalds name, and brand. Whatever happened to good, pure, wholesome American businesses these days, in well off cities and towns? THIS is what we as Americans get? I will never be comming to this location ever again. Awful customer service at the drive through. Cashier didn't know how much change to give me and did know how much I had given her. She was too busy talking and fooling around to pay attention to her customer. When I went to the next window I was given the wrong bag of food. They didn't know what happened to my order. It was given to the car in front of me. I drove off with a $2.00 cheeseburger rather than the chicken sandwich I paid for. The guy at the pick up window wasn't at all interested in the customers. He was too busy fooling around as well. No supervision and no customer service. This has happened more than once and I won't be going back. read more

My mom and I order a crispy chicken meal and an extra sandwich. I told the lady no tomatoes on mine for I am allergic and she said OK. When we went up to the first window to pay the man who is with the lady at the window repeat back the order and I told him again please make sure no tomatoes on one for I am allergic while the woman who took our order next to him was on her phone and laughing continuously. When we went up to the window to get our food the window was open but no one came up to us or said anything, they looked out the window and then went back to whatever they were doing. No acknowledgment or to say youre food will be right up all they did was chitchat with each other. While we were driving home I was eating my fries and when I went to grab my sandwich and my moms they werent marked to tell us which one had no tomatoes so when I checked they both had tomatoes on them. The last time I came here was a few months ago and everything seemed in order, in fact the place was renovated, clean, though the prices were a little bloated, but hey I'll pay for ambiance. Something changed since the Chik Fil-A opened next door. Now they have an overabundance of wait staff running around haphazardly. They didn't explain that they were copying Chik Fil-A how they now bring food out to your table up front so I looked like I was fresh off the boat trying to figure out what to do after placing my order. I wasn't in awe, I was flabbergasted by the chaos and the yelling and confusion not to mention employees were just yelling back at each other like they were in a high school hallway. There are a lot of elderly folks that frequent McDonald's and I observed them at their seats, quiet and contemplative. I can only imagine what they were thinking. This used to be an American Icon and a testament to the American Dream. How far you have fallen, McDonald's in Glastonbury. I would have at least expected that this particular location be staffed by more reserved, professional staff that at least respected the demographic here and could relate to them and be courteous. Next time I'm going to Burger King next door. They don't have a gym for the kids but they haven't lost their way, either. And I don't understand why they are trying to copy Chik Fil-A? Five Guys opened across the street and I don't see McDonald's offering free peanuts or making wholesome, big meaty burgers. Honestly, not a big fan of this ordering process, and like another reviewer mentioned, the IT system is buggy and offers poor customer service. Normally don't review your standard chains unless there is something particularly note-worthy to call out. You know what McDonald's serves and the food is nothing but consistent (read into that what you will). For this spot, I will say they do a very nice job on the play-place. Nothing over the top, but it is kept up nicely and has some nice variation. Doors are setup in a way that you can position yourself to make sure your little ones can not leave the area without you knowing. I wish there were similar, healthier restaurants that would offer this type of physical activity to children (if anyone is aware of one, send me a private message!). While I'm not psyched about feeding my kid a happy meal, I get some comfort in the fact he is getting 30 minutes of decent physical activity with the amount of running / climbing he does here (esp. good on bad weather days). Other than that, it's your standard McD's. They keep the rest of the place clean and modern as well if you are coming sans kids. And if you stick your nose up at fast food and all that, why are you reading this review? ;) read more

I wish I could give this a zero. We ordered 2 happy meals with one cheeseburger and one chicken nuggets and one chicken sandwich. But we ended up with 2 happy meals with both chicken nuggets. So we had to go back in line and tell them that we were supposed to get a cheeseburger and then we got that but then I took a bite of my chicken sandwich and the inside was raw. I've been to this McDonald's a few times for breakfast. Many of the times I have went through drive-thru I have had to pull up and wait. One morning they forgot to give me a syrup for my hotcakes, as well as 2 hash-browns, and best one yet, they forgot to give me a receipt. It's a hit or miss depending on who is working. read more

This McDonald's has been recently refurbished, actually it has been totally rebuilt. The design is very nice and everything looks very clean. There is ample parking and the drive-thru is well it. However, the food is still McDonald's food so you're going to get what you paid for. The staff is inconsistent and 3 times out of my last six visits I have been given the wrong food, and the management sometimes does not seem to care or offer refunds when the wrong food is given. Overall this is a nice McDonald's but it is still just a McDonald's. read more

I had to wait 10-15 mins at the drive through and my order wasn't taken, yet the machine next to me took two orders for people who had come after me. Then I had to wait in line for another 10 mins because there was no way to get out. I ended up going inside to order and told them what happened. There were bugs flying all around including on the man taking my order. When I finally got my food, I almost ate a bug in my fries. Food is consistently fast, correctly made, and tastes fresh (not like it's been sitting in a warmer for hours like some Mcd's). Staff friendly and patient (as a restaurant worker myself, I know this isn't always easy). 24/7 which is super convenient. I walked over today on a sunny day, from the nearby building where I work, to get a cold, refreshing frozen lemonade. The cashier rang me up, and I waited. And waited. And waited. In between customers, when she stood there (seemingly chained to her station), I asked if she could just get my lemonade so I could leave. Nope. After 20 minutes -- and this is the penultimate fast food establishment -- I told her to give me the lemonade or a refund. So, she called for the manager, named Rich. He was racing around frantic and looked completely overwhelmed. I told him he needs to let the girl fill the drink during downtime to move customers through. Well, he completely ignored me. I took my money and left. Here I am, writing this, because I know that somebody owns this location. I'm hoping they'll read it. Maybe they think it's best policy to keep the cashiers at their station, but empowering them to fill a drink in between, when they have no customer, makes really good customer service sense. When I worked in North Haven, on Washington Street, I'd often visit the McDonald's there. I was amazed at the courtesy and efficiency with which the place was run. And, clean, too! I wish they were running this location. I'll avoid this place in the future. There's a Starbucks and so many other places nearby. read more

I rate this as A-OK only because it's fast food, but out of any other McDonald's I've been to, this is the best one. The atmosphere is very nice--it's clean, it's pleasant, it's satisfying. Of course, this is a fast food restaurant, and it's not really a place to take the family out to eat with so many other places to go, but given the price you pay it's not a disappointment to come and relax over fries and a burger. The food here is the best I've experienced from other McDonald's, and the employees are friendly. There is also a play-scape for children. read more
