Quiet and cold night, we stopped by for a bite before a meeting in the area, I love the big windows so I can watch people go by, service was to slow for a non busy evenings so we couldn't order appetizers because we were running short on time and you cant say much when you look at the plates but oh boy when you bite those burgers I can tell you how delicious they are , juicy and full of flavor , Next visit will be in the summer so I can sit at the patio. I stopped by Bareburger after my optometry appointment on a Friday for lunch. It wasn't busy, so ordering was quick and I was able to dine in comfortably and take a few meetings. Since it was my first time, the young lady at the register walked me through the menu and suggested the lunch special, which comes with a side and a drink. I went with the "My Sunshine" burger instead of the impossible to try something new. My food came out in about 6-7 minutes and the burger was decent overall. I did expect it to be at least a 8/10 but it was more so a 6/10, however, the service more than made up for it. The entire team, including management, was incredibly welcoming and made sure I had everything I needed throughout my meal. The diner itself is very clean and well maintained, with plenty of parking. Prices give old-school burger joint vibes, which is definitely appreciated in this economy. Overall, a solid lunch spot with standout service.

We recently tried bareburger and it was great. They have gluten free fryers, which is awesome, and most of the menu is gluten free. They're also attentive to other allergens. The staff is super friendly. We ordered the spicy chicken sandwich, a burger, some fries, and the pickle chips. I loved the chicken sandwich, the burger was great. Pickle chips were bread and butter, which I wasn't expecting, but they were good. Fries were delicious. I also enjoyed their sauces. Plenty of food, although it was on the pricier side for a burger and fries. All in all, I'd definitely return to bareburger!

Good quality, great service, funky vibes, very pricy. Came to this location for the fun of it, remember the burger place that use to be here and hoped these guys were as good. Coming in, it's very funky diner vibes. Checkered floors, bright wallpaper, big booths and random art on the walls. The servers were very friendly and attentive. No one person was assigned to a table, and everyone was helpful in their own way. It was almost overbearingly so, a type of "bury them in kindness" situation. We ordered pickle chips and a wagyu burger as the sweet bison blues . Got the combo, with a hibiscus refresher and truffle style fries. Food comes out at a reasonable pace. Took pics and dug in. The pickle chips were bread and butter chips. So they were oddly sweet. Normally one would expect a dill pickle, so the flavor combo was unexpected but still pretty good. Ranch dipping sauce was generic, didn't work with the chips. The burger was very well executed. Perfect med rare and very juicy. They seasoned it with an earthy seasoning blend, but was really lacking salt. The burger was advertised in having bacon jam and caramelized onions. They were on the burger but in very tiny quantities. This would be okay if the blue cheese didn't overpower the toppings and dominate the flavors. This was solved with an extra side of bacon jam, which helped mellow the cheese out. The truffle fries were also executed well. Good Parmesan, very crispy and golden brown. The truffle salt was added on top of the normal levels of salt, making for a very salty fry with very little to no truffle flavor. Good as Parmesan fries, not as truffle fries. Price wise, the meal was pricy. The chips and burger combo coming out to about 55 dollars. It's good quality, and the base cook of the items is good, but with the execution faults it does make the price a more glaring issue. An important note: make sure to pay using the scanner and avoid paying via the QR codes on the tables. The QR codes impose a service fee and the tip amounts include the service fee in that calculation. Fairly confident the owner is unaware of this and has yet to correct, but it's a flaw in their current payment system As a burger shop in that area, it caters to those looking for an upscale burger joint. It's good for where it is, but it's not great enough to trek to and not taking the throne of the other burger joints in driving distance.

"Bare trees, grey light Oh yeah, it was a cold night" (Fleetwood Mac) They have over 30 locations spread across the northeast in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and one lone wolf hunkered down in Ohio. We found them in the prestigious and highly coveted "Center of the Wheel" location in Glastonbury's fashionable Somerset Square complex. So if you can find a parking spot anywhere on the wheel's circumference, you are seconds away from one of Bareburger's two entrances. Bareburger took over the space formerly occupied by B. Goode among other predecessors. This is a sit-down restaurant with table service, and our first impression was that the interior of the space is gorgeous. Black and white checkerboard floor tiles, a black and white tiled bar, teal-colored booths and benches, two sleek rows of counterspace, funky pop art style spirally wallpaper, and the most bizarrely decorated bathroom (unisex, BTW) ceiling I ever saw - repeated oval portraits of the Mona Lisa. We were greeted and seated pretty fast with a bag of complimentary popcorn and a big bottle of water for our table. Their menu is deep, with beef, Wagyu, bison, elk, and vegan burgers, sandwiches, cheesesteaks, tacos, sides, shareable apps, salads, milkshakes and kiddie meals. We ordered an American Smash burger ($7.49) and I accepted their option to customize my very own burger ($12.95) by choosing a black bean poblano patty, steamed collard green wrap, habanero pepperjack cheese, lettuce, tomato, alfalfa sprouts and Nashville hot sauce. We split a side of fries that was great. A big portion of piping hot extra delicious fries. I really enjoyed my Vegan burger patty. It had a solid texture and had plenty of flavor. And I was surprised at how tender the steamed collard green wrap was. I want to give a shout out to Duane, the manager who was a real joy to chat with. He gave us a history of the restaurant and learned it's just been open for 20 days and just expanded their lunchtime hours to include evenings. With their outdoor patio space, and a bar, I think they'll be quite the destination when the weather warms up. We all know that new restaurants experience growing pains, and that exposed some improvement opportunities to us. When we were seated, we were the fourth table occupied. A fifth table was seated after us, and their order was taken before we even saw a server. At the 22-minute mark we still were waiting with menus on our table and flagged down Duane who took our order. Our bill was a very reasonable $28.28 for a great lunch. But there was some confusion when we declined to upgrade our burgers to a combo meal (we didn't want two orders of fries and drinks) and just ordered one side of fries. Well, that was added to the bill as a confusing single combo upgrade, which turned out to be great because it cost less than a single order of fries would have, and we ended up taking a drink to go. But it would have been better to have explained this at the beginning because we would have split that Diet Coke at the table instead of taking it on a ride home. Anyway, we really enjoyed the Bareburger Experience and hope to visit again when in Glastonbury.

I received some coupons in the mail for Bareburger, but unfortunately on my way there I forgot to bring them. Bareburger is located in Somerset Square in Glastonbury. They have a really nice outdoor patio which is where we sat when we arrived. We were given a complimentary bowl of popcorn when we arrived. Since this is primarily a burger place, they have a ton of burger options in the menu. I selected the Cali Bowl. There's no burger here, but it was still substantial with the ingredients. This bowl featured, avocado, cauliflower rice, beet hummus, tomato, black beans, baby kale and sunflower seeds. The others in my party ordered burgers. I also got a Paloma for my cocktail. Now, here's the big problem, after we placed our orders, the waitress was NEVER seen again. 40 minutes went by, no drinks, no water, no food, no word about what happened. Another server comes out, asking if we placed our orders. "Yes, a while ago" I told him. He says he'll check. He comes back with a bit of a story. He says, after we placed our orders, their system went off WiFi and our order was lost. Ok, things happen, but why did the waitress never say anything, and why did we wait for so long, for an update, yet alone any service? Eventually their WiFi was back on, and they could see the orders... I'll have to say my Paloma was very refreshing, grapefruity and tasty. My bowl was a bit too dry, even with the dressing, it was very heavy on the rice. No one was impressed with the burgers. We weren't offered any type of compensation at all. I will for sure never return here again.

I'm in some food chats. Earlier this week, my friend Dawn said Bareburger finally opened in Glastonbury. I'm rarely stumped in Hartford County, but Bareburger was completely off my radar. Bareburger seems to be a small national franchise with locations in states such as New York, New Jersey, Ohio and CT. The Glastonbury one is located in Somerset Square across from Munson's. There is table service and I also suspect that they'll do a robust takeout and delivery service business. The atmosphere is modern and nice. Bareburger's website uses buzzwords like sustainable, ethical and organic. They have burgers (including ones made with some alt meats like Bison and Elk); bowls with ingredients such as cauliflower rice; fries, Brussel sprouts and cauliflower tempura. We ordered each of things. My Single Elkasaurus burger was made with ground elk and topped with bacon, sautéed mushrooms and onions, cheddar and "smoke sauce". I chose brioche. I liked this burger. It was a bit chewier than beef. I liked the toppings especially the mushrooms and Smoke Sauce, which was like a BBQ sauce. The bread to burger ratio leaned to bread heavy, but you can get a double burger for an additional charge. Among our remaining orders, the skinless classic cut fries were about average, the cauliflower tempura was substantial and satisfying and the Brussel Sprouts were good. I also ordered an Agua Fresca that I think was orange cardamom. It was decent. Not my favorite this month. I'm not factoring this into my score since they're new. About 25 minutes passed from when I ordered in the store and received my takeout order. Some of the food finished early and sat while the other food was being prepared. Not ideal, but the temperature could have been worse. I would return to Bareburger, but I prefer other nearby options for most of what I might get at Bareburger. 3.5 Stars

I received a coupon for a free wagyu burger for signing up for their mailing list months ago. So when I received an email that they were now open I decided to head over! What I didn't realize was I arrived on opening day O_O All things considered, it seems like they had a really good flow going even for their first day open. Seemed to be owners/managers buzzing around but I would say everything appeared to be running very efficiently. Decor was really nice and fun. The space is on the small side but doesn't feel like everyone is sitting on top of each other with booths, tables, and high top seating available. Going into this I was expecting a fast food kind of vibe (think five guys, shake shack etc) but upon arrival I was actually shown to a seat for table service - caught me off guard! I had a few diff people help me but they were all super pleasant. They began by placing a water bottle and glass for me as well as complimentary popcorn. Great snack while I looked over the menu. The wagyu smash burger was really good!! The fries were average. I was expecting something unique for $7. I wish my waitress gave me the option to make it a meal since I would have received fries and drink for only a few dollars more but I guess that's what I get for using a coupon. So here's my take: with so many burger options out there, it's hard to find a market for this kind of restaurant. I realize there's more to the menu than just burgers but it feels like fast food, looks like fast food, but isn't fast food. So now on top of whatever your food costs you now have to consider the cost of adding a tip as well. In that case, why not just go somewhere else? I'm not sure how to feel - as nice as the place is and as good as my burger was it's a hard sell and I probably won't feel inclined to return.

We tried bareburger and thoroughly enjoyed it! Everything (including the fryers) are gluten free!!! The burger was flavorful and the chicken was juicy and the right kind of spicy!! We also got fried pickles that had great crunch and fries that were yum!! The staff were super kind and helpful and open about sharing their food protections! They also have their own version of a lemon lime soda that was very delicious!!

First off, the ambience of the place is fairly nice though you would not know it from how many of the other patrons choose to attire themselves. If you're looking for a upscale, dining experience, other patrons would suggest this is not the place for you. They started off by attending to put us at the wrong table per our reservation. The table was apparently filled, and they moved us to a different table, which was perfectly fine as it was a nice booth with a window right next to the table. They then gave us several menus from which to choose, which was confusing as there were so many different menus with similar food options, including brunch, menu, a burger, menu, a dinner menu, a Mother's Day, special menu, and the regular menu. There were also two separate drink menus. We started by ordering some drinks and an appetizer of the meat and cheeseboard for the table. We put in our full order at just before 12:59 PM and the meat and cheeseboard came out fairly quick. Overall, it was the best part of our time at the restaurant. With regards to our main meal, we had ordered an eggs, Benedict, a children's pancake and bacon, special, and a steak and eggs meal. That was apparently a mistake as it took them over one hour six minutes before the food hit the table and when it did, it was a mess. The medium rare steak was cooked to a well done with the eggs being extremely messy and not very runny for over easy. The potatoes were dark and charred in places, but we're not crispy by any stretch of the imagination. The Canadian bacon had not been rendered well on the eggs Benedict and one of the two poached eggs clearly had not been poached appropriately. Also, my daughter indicated that the syrup was way too sweet, which was especially surprising as she is someone with a sweet tooth. The pancakes themselves were extremely dense and unfair and served on a plastic tray missing one of the size that was supposed to come with the order. It is clear that the kitchen does not know what they are doing as I was the second person in a row to have issues with the cook temperature on my steak, a problem that appears to carry over to other aspects of the meal as well. At the one hour mark, I've been so frustrated. I had requested to speak with a manager and he was actually the one who brought out the food to our table. There was a good four minute gap between two of the meals being brought out and the third meal, which is what my wife had ordered for her Mother's Day brunch. By the time the eggs Benedict came out, I showed the manager my stake and eggs, and he agreed that it was cooked to a well done rather than the medium rare I had ordered. I had overheard the exact same issue on the next table over where the older woman had not gotten her meal until nearly all seven others at the table had completed their food. At that point, I sent back my steak and indicated I did not want it to be remade as I was done with the place. Shirley, thereafter, I was clear the rest of the family was of the same mind as the meals were a mess and cooked improperly. The manager eventually came over and indicated that he is going to take care of the entire CHUCK which makes sense sense more than 75% of the food ordered had been uneaten or inedible. The service was no better as waiters and waitresses would walk by and failed to refill empty water glasses, even though they would look right at the empty water glass and would have pictures of water in their hand at times. One waitress went to five separate tables around us, including table she was not serving and failed to fill our water, but filled water at other tables. Our waiter was also missing an action for a good portion of the meal. Despite having the meal taken care of, I did leave a small tip for the waiter, though nowhere near what I would have had the service been even somewhat competent. This is a major disappointment as the last experience I had at this restaurant for dinner had been so positive it convinced me to book the place for Mother's Day brunch. I'm not sure if this was a one off situation but I would never recommend a return to this place based on the experience I had this day. What's worse, our reservation appeared to fall between two rushes as we were the second table in the rush that showed up about 10 to 15 minutes after our arrival at the place. As such, our food should've been fairly quick and coming out but others who ordered their food more than 20 minutes after our table received it with no problem. I have to say that the Taco Bell we had as result of this poor food service was Myles and Myles better than the food experience at the restaurant itself.

I'm back! Welcome to Carmine's! The restaurant is located on 389 Main St. in East Hartford. It's…read morecold in here! The temperature has got to be 55 degrees (the way Carmine likes it). I live the nice music in here. It's very livel! It's Happy Hour from 3-7 on weekdays (food) and all day for drinks on Monday! The kitchen here makes everything built fresh, from scratch, and all homemade. The appetizers, pasta, entrees and desserts combine old-world traditional Italian flavor with a modern flair for presentation, and the freshest ingredients around. Menu staples like calamari, chicken milanese, fettucine carbonara and ravioli are paired with unique recipes like pappardelle with sausage and tenderloin steaks. They have staffed their kitchen with a dream team of local chefs that ensure our quality does not waiver and our kitchen is always OPEN! Not every place can say that! For my first drink, I'm having the Manhattan's Creek made with Knob Creek bourbon, sweet vermouth, dry vermouth and Angostura bitters. Wait a minute! These are the same ingredients as a Perfect Manhattan! This is chilled, well balanced and nicely garnished. I like it! For my first food item, I'm having a House Salad (small, off-menu version). This is made with a spring mix including basil, tomatoes, julienned carrots, cucumbers and a red wine vinaigrette dressing. This is nice and fresh! I love the dressing! I like the nice cloth napkin as well as a disposable one. The bartender is the nicest one I've ever met. For my next item, I'm having the Rigatoni Marinara. The is made with rigatoni and house marinara sauce. It's low cholesterol and guilt-free (for me). This is steaming hot and delicious! Nice portion size too! For my next item, I'm having a cup of soup. This is broccoli cheddar with potato. Oh yeah! I love those oyster crackers! This is yummy! For my next drink, I'm having the Pratt n Whiskey made with Woodford Reserve bourbon, sweet vermouth, red wine and sour mix. I love it! It's shaken well and tastes great! For my next food item, I'm having the Carmine's Secret Tenderloins. These are actually pan seared caramelized CHICKEN tenderloins made with wine, olive oil, cracked black pepper, kosher salt, shredded Parmesan and a VERY special secret sauce. I can eat this with little regret. This should be interesting! This is quite good! I do like that creamy sauce! For my dessert, I'm having the Toasted Almond. This is soaked in Amaretto layered with light custard and topped with crushed almond. Oh yeah! Look at the presentation! This is fantastic! What a great meal here!

It's def one of our mother daughter special spots. I'm on a mission to try everything on the menu at least once and I was told the Crispy Chicken cutlet was a crowd favorite and it's safe to say I agree and I could not stop talking about it last night. It's made with two chicken cutlets crisp to perfection giving you that nice crunch with each bite. Inside you've got flavors of peperonata, fresh mozz, smeared pesto aioli , arugula on a thick ciabatta roll. It's a mix of comfort and quality all in one. I really enjoyed the mix of all the vibrant flavors here. Pair it with their sweet potato fries and you got yourself a real deal of a meal! My mom got the Handformed burger cooked medium on a brioche bun . It consists half-pound patty, bacon, white cheddar, lettuce, pepper mayo, She said it was one of the best burgers she's had in a long time and she's a harsh critic so that says a lot. She also enjoys the sweet potatoe fries here as well . Ps every Wednesday is Wine night which is 1/2 price bottle of any wine of your choosing . We showed up not knowing that and we may just make it a Wednesday tradition "Wine down Wednesday" :) Our server Lauren was excellent , it was a packed house and you can def see they have quite a few regulars myself included. It makes you feel like it's the friendly neighborhood restaurant!
