Don't bother going up to the drive-through an hour before they close because they will not even answer you if you pull up to the drive thru. sOn a Saturday night they'll close as soon as they possibly can to avoid the rush of people who come to McDonald's on a Saturday night. $20 an hour for a lazy work ethic in fast food in crazy. Been eating McDonald's ice cream cones my whole life. This one is twice the price of other McDonald's and their cones have shrunk from 4-5 inches of ice cream to 2 inches. I recently placed an order for a large French Fries and was at the outdoor pickup spot for mobile orders. I asked Ashley if there was ketchup in the McDonald's to go bag. She said yes. I opened the bag after she left, and no ketchup was in the bag so I called McDonald's to explain she said there was ketchup in bag, she either lied to me or was just incompetent at her job. So, they made her bring me some ketchup. She had a snotty attitude when she brought out some ketchup packets. This McDonald's needs to better train their workers who now make a minimum of $20.00 dollars per hour. They should be trained better and that the customer is always right. read more

Everyone is extremely polite, the drive thru line moves efficiently, all the food seems fresh and hot, and the overall improvements to the location are amazing. They've added additional room to the double lanes of the drive thru so vehicles flow better. The new, digital menus are a nice touch, but it sure would be nice to have a full menu further back from the ordering area while you wait in the DT line. This would promote better and larger orders because not everyone is a teenager and has the McDonald's menu memorized (hey...I did when "I" was a teenager!). Negatives would be the cost of items such as the famous Big Mac outside of a meal deal, in this example a separate stand alone Big Mac will set you back a whopping 5.59. Crazy. Also there is no longer an overhang over the DT windows, so when it rains, you and the burger crew will be getting wet. Overall a much less embarrassing McDonald's (than the old dated one) for Grass Valley....actually, this new version is quite nice! Thank you. read more

I live 30 minutes away from the Grass Valley McDonald's. I was really tired from working all day and didn't feel like cooking. I bought a Quarter Pounder meal and a milkshake around 5pm on July 6, 2021. After getting home I opened my burger because it looked like it had cheese on both sides. I didn't order it with cheese. To my surprise it had cheese on both sides and a small rubberband on the patty(see picture). I couldn't drive the hour roundtrip to return it(gas at $4.19) so I called to complain and possibly get a refund. A young girl answered the phone. I asked for a manager. She said she was the manager and that,"Only managers answer the phone". I asked who I was speaking to 3 times and she would not give me her name. These are the excuses she gave: "I'm not going to give you my name until you tell me why you are calling", I'm not going to give you my name because that is personal information ". At which I replied McDonald's was a publicly traded company and her name is public information, especially as a manager. Finally, she said. " I can lie to you and give you a false name". So I gave in and told her about my burger then asked for her name again. She said it was Ashley. She said she couldn't do anything unless I got a receipt. I told her I was offered a receipt but I did not take it and that she should be able to make an exception. She started talking over me and kept saying things like have a nice day. I asked her for her direct supervisors name so I could resolve this issue and she started talking over me again presumably ignoring my questions, said have a nice day and then she hung up on me. I am a pretty mellow guy but this got me furious. My wife and son actually offered and did make me a homemade burger. They is so sweet. I tried to find the name of the franchise owner to no avail. It's already after 6pm. I will be following up my efforts to notify the franchise owner (I think the local Chamber of Commerce has it), and hopefully get Ashley a stern talking to and maybe some interpersonal communication skills training. Geez! What a stressful experience for me. I probably will never go back to that McDonald's after that experience. I'm realizing these businesses that pay minimum wage have horrible customer service these days with the younger generation and their lack or work ethic, lack of people skills and down right rudeness. It's getting to the point where I'm beginning to think I'm better off cooking at home, even when exhasted. I mean who wants to go through that for just a burger. At least other places I've been eating as of late are courteous, and respectful. Places like Favorito, Taco Bell, Carl's Jr. Even Robinsons gas station burreto station has an awesome guy who lives in the town of Washington who makes your burreto right there in front of you while you watch and he's super nice! Stopped here after a friend's wedding 07/20/2019. We went through the Drive through and service was prompt and efficient. After leaving the Drive Through, the fries were piping hot! This was a first and I was thoroughly pleased. Normally in Reno we get mediocre warm fries. To have fresh out of the fryer was a pleasant surprise. I had to go back in and use the restroom and I was pleasantly surprised. The interior was nice and looked relatively new. The bathrooms were bland, but the stalls were long. I appreciate this as a taller person, because sometimes, the side of my face becomes mashed against some stall doors trying to use the toilet. PLEASE, PLEASE, P L E A S E!!! STOP OVER-COOKING THE FRIES!! We go to this McD's a few times a week and the fries are ALWAYS overdone. Always. Maybe leave them in the fryer a tad less? Shave off a good 30 or more seconds. I end up throwing away my fries every time. The nuggets are usually on the too-crisp side too, but are ok if they're fairly fresh. Perhaps adjusting your drop time in the fryer a little will fix it?Your staff is always really cool, professional and helpful. Way to go on that! read more
