This review will be short considering I shouldn't have to explain much about mcdonald's. What I really liked about this mcdonald's is that it is very spacious. Driving in and out is very easy and parking is decent. Overall there is a lot of space on the inside and out which gave it a more pleasant vibe for me. The tables are nice, it looks as new as it should (considering it is still new), and honestly I don't have anything to complain about other than some of the tables could have been wiped down (French fry salt was everywhere lol). read more

Service was horrible. We came in before breakfast ended and waited minutes until we were even acknowledged. By then, the menu changed. Worker had a terrible attitude. Instead of letting us order, she told us that we could have done instead. It was not our fault that we weren't acknowledged. Fast food restaurants need to hire people with better attitudes. We stopped here for a quick breakfast since IHOP had no parking space. There was no line at the counter and got our food fast. The cashier was also fast and efficient in taking our order. She gave us a number and delivered our order to our table. I asked more more condiments which she got and brang it to our table. I have been a McDonald's customer for over 40 years. I normally visit the McDonald's in Mililani, but decided to go to the Airport location on Nimitz Highway to enjoy breakfast while waiting to pick up my friend who was coming in from the mainland. I ordered the 20-piece McNuggets and medium french fries. Generally, the McDonald's food is okay to good. Today it was different--it was absolutely the worst. The french fries were dry and no salt. The McNuggets can be liked to eating cardboard. I tried "drowning" in sauce, but still was eating cardboard with sauce. The order taker was the arm pit--no hello, with a "what do you want attitude." Convenient place to eat near airport. Easy to access, large seating area, several e-kiosks to self order. Entry electronic sliding door was convenient for occupied hands. This is a story of how you can't replace the personal experience. Thoroughly modern store, clean and not too busy. I walked into this location to get a couple of filet-o-fish for my son who was stuck at work nearby. I'm the first to run to a self-check out, I'm dual platform and will beat you in a race to purchase a train ticket from a machine in any country. I saw the self-serve kiosks just inside the entrance, but....I was hesitant. I went to the counter and looked at the menu. Well, it used to be a menu, not it's several screens with different images changing like a Vegas billboard. I finally see the price for one fish sandwich $7.49. Last time I got one in a drive thru, it was the cutest little itty bitty thing. I know I didn't pay that much for it so I decide to have a conversation. The "Aunty", wearing a white kukui nut lei, manning the free register called me up. I told her I saw the kiosks, but I wanted to talk to her. She smiled and said of course, what did I need. I asked about a value meal with the fish sand and if I could get another sand to go with it (I'm trying to get a reasonable price on this lunch). She said sure, but she could do me one better and get me the 2 for $5 deal. I'm looking all over and I don't see that special deal and I ask her "for reals?" She said oh yes my dear. Did I want something to drink? Fries? Yes, yes! If she hadn't been there for me, with her menu knowledge, I would have spent damn near $16 on 2 fish sliders and no drink! I thanked her profusely. Manager Ralin? No skills in customer service. No introduction and bad body language. Walks away from me and never thanked me once. I ordered awhile ago, and they got my order wrong. The manager I spoke to toke down my name and said it would be replaced the next time I visit. Well guess what?! I found out that you only get a week, that's what Ralin said. And you need the receipt. Just drive through and ordered a hot chocolate. Pretty simple, right? The order taker on the speaker asks if I want caramel in that... I repeated my order as 1 large non fat hot chocolate. The order taker says "so no caramel?" I then replied, I ordered a hot chocolate, why would you put caramel? Mobile ordered and went through the drive through... waited at the first window for like 5 mins cause the lady was too busy so I drove off since I already paid through my phone. Dumb lady yelled out that I have to come back and wait there and so I did and she just had to give my receipt. Like really? There was a line Piling up and then proceeded to tell everyone in line to order from kiosk. She should have told the first person rather letting a line pile up. There was a few older people in line and they didn't know how to use it and did not help them at all. They just waited while other people got there order. read more

So this place was really clean from the looks of it. Staff was nice and was greeted from entering. The only thing I didn't like was after receiving my order, I noticed a bug in one of the drinks. It was still alive and was swimming in the orange juice. When I mentioned it to a worker, she causally said ," oh it's just a fruit fly" and gave me another one. When getting home, I double checked our food and inspected it to make sure there wasn't any other surprises. I also dumped the other drinks into a cup to make sure there wasn't anything as well(I still didn't drink it). And like I said the place looked clean, it didn't look like they had a fruit fly infestation I didn't notice anything flying around when we were waiting for our food. read more

This place is awful. They do usually make the iced coffee good but omg they are so slow. I happened to swing by for a breakfast platter once and after 20 minutes of waiting, i asked how much longer it was gonna be and she says "the rice almost pau" and then 5 minutes later i got my rice and because they didnt let it sit after cooking the rice was all hard on the inside and wet. It's a McDonald's, and near the airport, so my expectations were low. I was very pleasantly surprised. Complaints about the parking lot are founded. It's located between two intersections, one with a light, and traffic can get backed up, blocking entrance or exit of the parking lot. Further, it's under the highway or something, so there's the constant threat of a distracted driver careening off the overpass and crashing down on you. That being said... As soon as I walked in, a very friendly young lady greeted me and offered me the option to either head to the counter to order, or use one of the touch-screen kiosks to order on my own (which I prefer. 15 bucks an hour... I tell ya!). She stood by to make sure I was able to successfully start my order and even asked me some pertinent questions about making modifications to my sandwich. She then helped me pay (with MY card, of course). None of this was necessary because, you know, it's not rocket surgery, but it was nice that she made all that effort to make sure I got my order plugged in properly. After I placed my order, she gave me a number placard and found me a table. She said she would bring my order out to me and in the mean time, asked me what drink I would like. Again, I'm perfectly capable of strolling over to the drink station and gently pressing my cup against the little arm to dispense some pop, but the hostess was more then willing to let me chill and play with my phone while she got my drink. So nice. A short time later, she brought my food. It was hot and fresh. It was also... hold on to your hats... properly made! Now, if you are a McDonald's connoisseur like myself, you know that 80% of the time, they screw this part up. Not enough sauce, cheese is hanging half off the sandwich, fries are under-cooked and soggy, or stale and cold. Most of the time when I order from McDonald's, it looks like Mayor McCheese was in a horrible car accident, then promptly wrapped in paper and tossed onto my tray. Not at THIS McDonald's, though. Everything was made to McDonald's surely-strict specifications, and it was delicious. Long story short, this McDonald's is clean (did I mention it was clean?), super-de-duper friendly, and the food is great... for a McDonald's. They are so slow. They have the new electronic ordering system, but they don't help anyone who walks to the counter. The manager looks and walks away, no one responds when talked to, and over all the time it takes for orders to come out is too slow... I waited an hour for food, an hour... what is going on over there. They seem fully staffed, so I'm not sure why there isn't someone on the register to help people who walk to the front. I've been to this McDonald's several times and it's in a good location. The drive-thru is away from the busy highway so access is pretty good. I have to say, it's been busy every time I've gone there. I went through the drive-thru with my husband today. He likes to get a snack at this McDonald's when he is running errands in the area. When we (finally) got to the order station I do not remember hearing anyone greet us and ask to take our order, as usually happens at a fast food drive-thru. So we sat, and sat, and waited for someone to speak to us. I started wondering out loud, when are they going to take our order? After several minutes, my husband called out, "Hello?" Only then a voice came over the speaker and said to order when we were ready. After that, they charged us for ice water when we only wanted the free kiddie cup (which we tried to tell her). They also tried to give us our change in pennies (it was more than 5 cents) and gave us the wrong flavor McFlurries. We enjoyed our snack when we finally got it, but it sure was harder than it should have been. To be fair, our other visits to this location have been uneventful, so consider this an average fast food restaurant. read more

This place went up really fast, even though it said "opening in October" it opened in November. You would think that having double drive thru lanes would make it more efficient and get customers through faster. Not the case. My only gripe is that my order required a fork and knife. When I arrived at my destination ready to eat my food, there were napkins but no fork and knife. Not cool. Really enjoy this location! The relaxing local music the Aunty in the morning is ALWAYS FILLED WITH ALOHA! She not only make the locals feel welcomed, being near the airport there are a lot of tourist either coming or going and she serves each individual to the most top notch cheerful spirit making everyone feel welcomed! *Greeting each customer with " Aloha, how you going today? What can I get you? *If there was a slight wait due to a large order, she "Gives the same greeting along with a Thank You for waiting" *Throughout each customer order she does not rush them she kindly give that gorgeous smile informing them to take your time. *Each customer gets a Thank You, please come again and Have a nice day! This is the worst McDonalds Ive ever been to. No matter how many people are working or ordering, the wait is minimum 20 minutes EVEN in its just a large soda! Id love to stop and get breakfast on the way to appointments or work but Id be late every time! The workers are so unorganized, the food is always cold or room temperature and if you order a frozen drink it will ALWAYS be melted when you get it as if it was just sitting there while you wait in line for over 20 minutes. There are two drive through lanes for faster orders, but it seems like they have ONE PERSON switching between the two on a headset. This defeats the purpose!!!! Like wth ??? I decided to go inside to see if I could pick up my order faster but NO ONE WAS AT THE REGISTER THE WHOLE TIME. When I got my 2 frappes they were MELTTEDDD. Ordered via the McDonald's app and waited over 40 minutes to get food. Sat 10 minutes at the mobile order pickup and app couldn't complete the order. So went to the drive thru and immediately got a confirmation number BUT when we went through the drive thru the order taker said the order never came through. Vergie, the manager on duty, actually told us to drive through again because the order didn't go through on their end. I told her she was backing up her own drive thru lane and it wasn't our fault their system wasn't working. It is literally 40 minutes after the order was placed and we only got all of our food because, although I gave the guy my phone to get the order off of, he gave us the wrong things or forgot to give us some things. I can't even believe Vergie is a manager as her handling of the situation was shameful! read more

The parking is horrible, there was plenty of seating only I decided to get my food to go because of the foul smell of must/mildew and the homeless guy staring at me like I owed him money made me feel very uncomfortable. Getting my morning run at this location with Medium Hot latte with hazelnut and decided to get three chocolate chip cookies. Received the beverage hot just how I like it but the cookies are a different story. I noticed it as soon as the food runner handed me the cookies. I'm not expecting anything but fresh cookies. It felt like the ones that she handed me had been sitting for more than 24hrs. So I just had to ask her "are these fresh?" And she said "no but it will take 2mins for the fresh ones. Talk about keeping their products consistently fresh. I appreciate her honesty though. Very disappointed on my drive thru visit because the experience is unacceptable especially at 5:00 in the morning knowing that they are 24hrs open. read more
