I recently went to the Liliha MCD around 11:45 am. I was expecting a long line, but it ended being relatively short. It still took a while to get my order due to the many large mobile orders that the staff was fulfilling. The staff was so unorganized it was Pitiful. The large French Fries looked like a medium order packed into a LG container. Our food order was complete, but someone forgot to bring the ice coffee forward, and no one followed up until we asked what happened to our order. VERY DISAPPOINTED! read more

I sometimes go here for a quick bite before heading to work. It's right along the bus lines, so I can get in and out. Plus, if you drive, that's a bonus too. Then again, you can't beat the bus for the daily commute. I did not know this McDonald's was 24 hours, but after looking at some Yelp reviews, that's good to know for middle of the night cravings. I once saw this guy complaining to the manager about something. He was quite adamant about buying coffee for his grandmother every morning and the McDonald's staff looked at him like he was a hobo. He felt disrespected so much that he had to complain to the manager. I had sympathy for him, but meh, I had my own problems to deal with. Nice people behind the counter and fast service, nothing less can be said about McDonald's. Plenty of parking and seating area, if you decide on sitting down to eat. Got 4 sundaes all 4 weren't filled evenly and one was only half cup fill. We told the them when the guy handed to us, he made another cup and was a little more still less than the other cups. Anyway, there wasn't any peanuts. We ask for it, they said they out of it. This was the 2nd time not that happy about this location. The other time was the lady that cleans the soda area, my son has his frappe on the rack and grabbing a straw, that lady lifted the rack and knocked the frappe on the floor. This location is conveniently located in the Liliha area. It is right next to Foodland. Give this McDonald's a try when you are hungry and in this area. Sometimes the drive thru line is long and the parking lot can get crowded, since it is shared with Foodland. The dining area is two floors. read more

Went to drive thru today about 1:30 pm. Ordered 2 shakes with the intent of using a mobile app coupon for 40percent off one. We arrived at the pay window handed the clerk Marie a $20.00 which she took and then tried to show her the mobile app coupon. Many attempts were made to get her attention but she never responded. Upon giving us the change we made it known that we had this coupon and tried to get her attention. Her only remark was you should have showed it to me before. We did let her know that was exactly what we tried to do. Shortly there after the manager came to the window and could only say "you should have we should have shown the coupon. This could have been easily been fixed by cancelling the transaction, but instead both decided to make this an issue. Long story short we cancelled the order and went elsewhere. This was my first time at this location. The usual mcdonalds menu and great staff. This location doesn't have the 2 lanes that a lot of Mcdonalds renovated to have. This location is also located in a really tight parking lot, so to get around there isn't a lot of space and takes a lot longer than other mcdonalds locations to get back on the road But they were quick efficient and accurate with my order, so no complaints!! :) read more

Myles and I just came back from Japan on Saturday morning, it was around 8:30am, and I was craving pancakes from McDonald's. We had just spent a week in Japan eating fluffy pancakes with meringue (inside the batter), but I wanted McDonald's pancakes from home. Lately, when we receive our food and ice cream cones, etc. from any McDonald's, it is the managers who are handing our food to us. And you know why I'm giving McDonald's 5 stars? Because of the warm SMILES from the Managers. Wow. With all the customers and "stuff" they have to deal with all day long, they put that all that behind them once they reach the window just to flash us a warm SMILE and THANK YOU. I've kind of gotten used to the fact that pretty much any fast food place you go to here you're bound to see at least half the tables occupied with homeless people who have nowhere else to go. It's just something I guess you get used to. However I did feel bad on this particular occasion because the second floor was completely closed off so when a tourist family came in looking for a place to sit while they placed their orders, literally every table was occupied and there was nowhere for them to sit. I only managed because I was able to sit in my car and eat. But that shouldn't be a thing. I know it's uncouth to assume someone's financial status, but at the very least I think this place should have a time limit on how long someone can be sat at a table to make things fair for all paying customers. As for the service itself, it was good. The cashier put my order down wrong but the staff had no problem changing my order (which would have been more expensive) at no extra cost. So good on them. Cleanliness isn't great, but since I wasn't staying there it probably didn't bother me as much. read more

I am convinced that in the future there will be no Starbucks, no public libraries and no Mom n' Pop diners. Only McDonald's. Sad but totally going to happen because of high lease rents, convenience and pricepoint. Oh and that's the only place the robots are going to let us eat. They'll want to keep us fat and sedated. The drive-thru at this McDonald's is always ridiculously backed up and completely awkward to turn into. I watched a group of ten men converse in Chinese. I laughed at a Chinese tiger mother scold her nerdy high school son who was doing his homework. I listened to a group of middle schoolers who would probably one day work at McDonald's because they don't have a Chinese tiger mother hovering over them. There were even couples and college kids working on their laptops. McDonald's has created a place where everyone can hang out together regardless of age or background. Fries are never full, ordered $1 large fries from the app deal and was so happy but when I got my fries, it really was just a medium due to the content inside. Also, tried picking up my brother's order since I was on the way home since he was still heading home from work, I might as well get it to save him energy. Workers told me they can't give it to me when I literally have proof and the code for the order. Another worker comes and tells them order is not paid for when I literally show them screenshots of it that my brother paid for it with the app. Filipino manager is at the fries station yelling at me in front of everyone. "We can't give the food, we can't do anything about it". I did this many times it's the only time it happened to me where they wouldn't give the food we paid for. I was also on the phone with my brother on speaker to show them proof. I just don't understand they would give the food to uber eats drivers with the code and everything but won't do the same for me, a real customer just getting food for my family with proof of code and everything. This place is definitely helpful when you want a quick meal or snack! I usually go through the drive thru here to pick up my mom a snack. I can't remember the last time I've had food from here for myself. I used to have it often when I was a kid though. The parking here is shared with Foodland. The drive can be a little tricky to get into and out of because of how narrow the parking lot is. Service has always been professional and fast. This place is definitely a plus if you're in a rush. read more

I always stop by this McDonalds in my old neighborhood when I am was in town. It has the typical McDonald's food and variations on the local foods, like taro pie, chorizo sausage with rice, etc. Prices are great for a restaurant in Honolulu. Service is O.K. - nothing special. The location is somewhat cramped because the parking lot is shared with Foodland Super Market. The restaurant is two levels - you order downstairs and take your food upstairs when the lower level does not have enough space. Usually, I am used to one-level McDonalds, but space is a premium in Honolulu. This location is also modernized with a self-service drink area. A great McDoanlds to visit when I return to the islands. The coffee is fresh and the ice tea is a different one compared to the ones in California - great taste. read more

But it seems like the manager who is filipino who work @night was rude and gave that tone when she should refund it already and i have to show my proof that she really did charge me twice and i dont know who made her a manager when she doesnt know how to fix a simple solution. This one is very historic from how I seen it was when I would go there growing up when it had an outdoor look and now how we see it today it renovated to its current two stories. This one is probably one of the busier McDonald's with it's drive through, seating downstairs and ample seating and booths upstairs. Long line and crowded parking lot during lunch. Ordered 3 things and they couldn't even get it right.

I grew up with the McDonald's in Liliha and I remember walking here with my family every other week with the pure excitement of being able to get the next happy meal toy. No matter how badly you might get portrayed in the media for causing childhood obesity, McDonald's just know that you will always have a special place in my fat heart. Plus, the Liliha location was just renovated a few years ago and the upstairs looks quite fancy with the Chinese looking decorations which fits in really well with the culture of the neighborhood. read more

I never did a yelp review in my live but my experience at liliha McDonald's was so bad this morning I have to share. I come here all the time and I noticed lately that the drive thru person takes longer and longer to take your order. This morning no exaggeration more than 5 minutes before a response. If you don't like tight parking, this is not the place for you. But if you love fries, then this is the place for you as they pack it like they should. You don't normally see the fries package bursting at the seams. But my photo does not lie. The burger was just okay. I've had better McDonald's burgers. But then their burgers are nothing special. They need to grill the patties, not squeeze them with a flat iron which is what they basically do. The biggest drawback to this location is that it can get quite noisy. The acoustics of this place is such that noise just bounces around. You can literally hear others' conversations while you sit to eat your food. I came at the wrong time as two Chinese men spoke loudly the entire meal. Them there were these shady looking characters, young adults, that hung around not actually dining. Just basically loitering at the table. I felt very uncomfortable so made my dining experience a quick one. The restroom facility was clean. And the interior was decent albeit kind of old and worn. Be careful when walking down the stairs as you can easily fall if you don't keep an eye on the bottom one. I don't think I'll be coming here during the evening again. read more

This place is a mad house. No matter where you stand there are bodies waiting to order or waiting for an order. The lines are far from orderly and you just jump in where you see an opening. I ordered a meal with a strawberry lemonade with light ice. I told the person making it I wanted light ice and that she had put too much in, but she wanted to argue. Needless to say when I got it, it was too much and the ice blocked the strawberries when I was trying to get them out of the cup. I ended up having to dump ice out into a bag in order to get to the strawberries. I know how I like my strawberry lemonade more than they realize. The meal was your usual fabricated burger and fries. On a norm, this location does great durinf regular hours. Come late night...it's a nightmare!!! Between 1200-1230am, there's always a system problem. They only accept cash. NO DEBIT OR CREDIT!! Fine...that's cool...now for my order....I ordered a "Sausage Egg McMuffin" meal with a medium coke. I made it clear that I wanted a sausage "EGG" McMuffin meal. What was I thinking eating here for a Friday night dinner. After a year hiatus from Micky D's, I thought what the heck. Was lazy, was tired and wasn't thinking.
