I never have good things to say about fast food restaurants but I was very satisfied with my visit today. I originally came here looking for the hello Kitty kids meal set and asked the manager to tell me which character they had in stock. He wasn't annoyed at all and he helped me look, but I ended up getting the spicy chicken nuggets à la carte instead. To my surprise, It was so crispy and brand newly fried and didn't taste stale like other McDonald's usually do. On my way out one of the workers even opened the door for me !! isn't that shocking? I truly had such an amazing experience at the McDonald's today. Just pleasantly surprised all around ! The restrooms are also super clean and smelled really fresh. It's always hard to rate something as ubiquitous as McDonald's. Do you grade it versus their own standard or average store, or do you rate it objectively versus other food alternatives. I think the latter makes sense. I do love a Big Mac - that's something I've always really liked, and even though they're not as good as they once were (my hands didn't grow that much - they have to be at least 20% smaller than they used to be), I still enjoy them. But McDonald's food overall is just not very good. Nor is the value any longer. There's really barely a reason to go there anymore unless they have some big promotion or you want something nostalgic. Anyway, I had a McChicken sandwich as you can see in my picture. Picture maybe 4 nuggets that combined into one larger (but still objectively small) patty and then put it in a really artificial bun and put some sad lettuce on it and you have a McChicken. It kind of makes me sad just to look at it. Tastewise, I mean it's edible, but not really enjoyable. The fries (not pictured) are not even really that good anymore. I seemed to remember they were a darker golden color, crisp. But the latest time we had them, they were kind of limp. Came to this McDonald's to get a sausage McGriddles using my birthday offer on Sunday. I tried to use curbside pickup at first. However, there's a glitch in the app and I couldn't enter the stall number. I ended up going inside to pick up the food. I hadn't had a McGriddle in ages. Even though it's probably not too healthy for me, it tasted pretty good. The sweetness of the McGriddle was quite enjoyable together with the savory sausage in the middle. When I ordered the McGriddle, I noticed that there's a 50% off offer in the app. Since I was craving for French fries and had saved up enough fast food quota, I went back again to pick up an order of large Fries using the offer later. This time the curbside pickup worked, and the staff delivered the food to the car. The food was below average and service...what service?? The top bun of my quarter pounder was smashed & the majority of the fries were only 1-1 1/2" long. So basically looked like I got the end of an old batch of fries; they weren't hot when I got them. I had to wait at the drive through menu for five minutes to give my order & there was only one person ahead of me. I have never seen a place with so many incompetent employees! It never fails that they mess up our orders at this location! The be if my coworkers orders a cheeseburger with EXTRA onions. 14 minute wait for an ordinary meal (McMuffin, Hash Browns, Coffee). The lady in front of me ordered just a small coffee and she waited 12-13 minutes. Staff not friendly. They try not to acknowledge you by not making eye contact. You have to literally grab someone to get their attention or you will be standing around for a long time. This is for anything. whether its ordering at the cash register, inquiring about missing items, asking for condiments, or just wondering what the heck is up with your order. And don't get me started on kiosk issues. If you are a walk-in, prepare to be aggressive to get service. My observation, management prioritizes drive thru orders over walk-ins. If I could give negative one thousand stars, I would. This is the worst McDonalds I have ever been to in my entire life. I've lived in multiple states and travel via car often, so I've been to a LOT of different locations. Hands down, this is the absolute worst. One of my children has many allergies. She can eat their hamburgers and apple slices that come pre-packaged, but legitimately that is it. Nothing else. No fries, nuggets, apple pies, nothing. At ANY and EVERY other location, I can get her a hamburger, plain, and sub the fries for a second pack of apple slices. It's never an issue. Hell, they have a button to sub apple slices for a second fry, so why would the opposite be any issue? It shouldn't be. I know. This location however, is apparently incompetent. I make the request at the window. The male worker says "We can't do that." I ask "Okay, can I just not get the fries. She's allergic. I do not want the fries put with her order." "We don't have a button for that." Of course I'm starting to get frustrated here. "I don't care what buttons you do or don't have. Just don't give me the fries. I'll pay for them, and you can go throw them away. I don't care. I just don't want the cross contamination in her happy meal box." "We can't do that." "Okay, fine. Ring it up however you need to. I'll just hope she doesn't get sick." "Okay, pull forward." (Real nice customer service here, right?) Please see how I was not told where to pull forward to. We're just getting started. She walks away. Without a word! Some guy comes up, and says "give me your phone." I literally laughed. "Uh. No." He purses his lips, pauses, and says "Ma'am, I just need your phone." "Sorry, but I'm not giving you my phone." Apparently everyone else in the world is okay with just handing their phones off to complete strangers? But not me. My entire life is on my phone. I will NOT risk some fast food worker dropping it and breaking it. Especially at a place that can't figure out how to swap fries for apple slices. He continues to say, with pursed lips and a pause, "ma'am, I just need your phone for a minute." "How about you give me your phone so I can go drive around the block for a few minutes." "What? No." "Exactly." "I'm just going to walk to the back with it." "No, I will park and come inside with my kids, and pay at the counter. I'm not giving you my phone. Please stop asking." "You can't pay at the counter. We would still need to walk it to the back." "You can cancel this transaction. And re-ring the entire thing at the front counter. The same order." "No, I just need your phone for a minute." At this point, my teenager in the front leans forward, looks at him, and says "Dude. She's not giving you her phone! Let it go." I continue, trying to actually solve the problem. "How about I come inside to the counter and buy a gift card. Then you can use that gift card to ring out the order." "You can only by a gift card with cash." "What?!" "Yes. If you won't give me your phone, you can give me a card." "I don't have any cards on me, that would have been the first thing I would have done." "Well you can drive around and pay at the window." "I am not waiting in line again because you couldn't keep your employee stationed at the window, or have a sign up saying be right back, or even bother to tell me while I was ordering, to go to the first window. I have somewhere to be. I'll come inside, but I am not waiting in this line again." And here's the kicker. He said "well if you don't want to pay for your food-" "Don't you dare. I am not trying to get away with a free meal. I have come up with multiple solutions, and you refuse to even consider cooperating." "Well, Karen-" "Abso-fucking-lutely not you little shit. I have been nothing but respectful to you. You have no right to call me a Karen just because I'm not going to wait in line again or give you my phone. I will never go into McDonalds in Los Gatos ever ever again. I have been a loyal customer for 40 years. I'm a senior citizen and have lived here all my life. McDonalds here used to be a nice place where seniors and others felt safe, welcome and meet with friends. The last 3 or 4 years, it has become a virtual nightmare. The service is terrible. The people who work there are extremely unfriendly. The food is dreadful. It is dry and they charge you for dressing. Many of my friends have not gone back there because of the general condition of it. I witnessed something fall on the floor and it was picked up and they possibly put it on a sandwich. Over the past 4 or 5 months I have made a total of 4 complaints Two complaints were about receiving the wrong order and the other two were about the disgusting crispy chicken dry sandwich with only a piece of a pickle included. That sandwich I ordered several times and each time the chicken was uncooked. it was like a piece of rubber.I told them that they should adjust their over because I couldn't even eat it and I had to throw it into the garbage. I ended up with a bacteria infection due to uncooked chicken. Anybody who orders this chicken sandwich should check before they eat it to make sure the chicken is cooked before they eat it. The manager, Rosie, confronted me the last time I went in. I told her that i couldn't eat what I had ordered. Rosie responded in a very rude, arrogant and agressive way and said to me. I have been making regular visits to this McD's more and more, once i noticed the burgers taste so much better then they have for a very long time. So many years ago, the little chopped onions were cooked on the meat.... then, they changed the procedure and placed them on the bun. That changed thr flavor. It seems as though, this store has the right idea, cause if I'm not mistaken, they ate cooking the onions on the meat. To be honest I don't know what the other reviews are saying. It's always perfect . dine in is sometimes crowded but usually great time in delivery (website and phone) and takeaway from This branch. Drive thru great as well. The quality is good & friendly staff. McCafe is very nice as well, great addition. Their McCafe desserts lattes & frappes are so nice, but I wish it was available for online order & delivery (McDelivery.eg) . Only complaint is that there are sometimes many many people in the parking lot & outside (next to the door) who aren't social distancing or wearing masks. Understandable as it's open air but very dense amount of people so it would be advised for them to be more courteous of others around them, atleast near the door. So, I pulled up to the next window where this guy said I need pull back to the unattended window. A lot of the negative reviews below seem to be people showing up at closing or having unreasonable expectations for a McDonalds. This is a great little place that's been there for decades. They always used to play classical music inside. I tried the online app ordering this week on free McChicken day and it was brought out to my car super fast. Good food and great service. Just went in tonight, 9/24 at 6:30pm and had absolutely the worst service I've ever experienced. We stood at the register for 5 minutes before my daughter pointed out there were computers we could order our food from. Meanwhile, there were 3-4 employees who made eye contact with us standing there and they didn't say ANYTHING. One kid asked his manager to come help us and he just looked at us and ignored us. Went right back to making food and getting orders together. When did customer service die? If you want us to rely strictly on robots to place our order then the least you can do is DIRECT me to the damn thing! On top of that the tables were filthy. Never coming here again. I always view badly reviewed fast food chains with a bit of suspicion. People love to dump on the big guy. You also get reviewers hitting a fast food store & seem to expect a 5 star meal. McDonald's is McDonald's. It's going to taste basically the same everywhere. That's actually what we want and expect. Nice area (how that reflects on McDonald's, I don't know but it does mean you're less likely to run into bums & loiterers if that type of thing scares you or your kids), restaurant's clean and the bathroom is nice & not locked which means you can stop in & use it without having to make a purchase which matters to those of us whose work doesn't place us in an office building or campus. The food: Fries hot & tasty, Diet Coke fine but the McCrispy was strangely stale so mostly unsatisfying. A bummer when your main dish is below the usual standard. For me, though, the NO REFILLS sign made it clear to me that I will not likely eat here again. Personally I like to chill and relax a bit on my lunch break & the free refill is a must. Why they do this indicates extreme cheapness on the part of the owner. Even at $1.69, the soda is approximately 98% profit. How many refills would every consumer have to order to cut significantly into that? You could get 20 refills & make minimal impact. There's literally 8 other burger places within 10 minutes of this place. Last I checked, they nearly all gave a free refill. What a joke So anyway if you must have McDonald's, wade on in but be aware of the shortcomings.
