Today is April 22nd 2019. Now that the remodel is complete, I am revising my original posting. Stars are now turned down to One. Because of the new kiosks being used. You must order electronically, and if you don't, you are greeted at the counter with distain. On my first visit back, I walked up to the counter to order a coffee, I was the only customer in the lobby, I was asked to return to the kiosk and place my order. But you still pay at counter...so after stretching my neck looking for hostess, she appears from the back with a scoul on her face, is visible annoyed, so at that point I made it clear I was not returning, with that she turned and engaged her phone, WOW, McDonald's remodels personalities too??? Drop the attitude your not in the driver's seat!!! Management should do more front counter aka hospitality training or fire those just there to collect a pay check. Needless to say, I moved my business to Marina Donuts where you are at least greeted with a welcome regardless of bad day or not. read more

The worst customer service imaginable. I ordered a McFlurry with hot fudge and they I swear to you, filled a cup with vanilla ice cream, topped it with so much Oreo and hot fudge that I couldn't even eat it, I tried switching cups and all the hot fudge oozed out along with the Oreos, I was left with a cup of $13 ice cream because I used door dash. Obviously people working these jobs do not give a fuck so I will boycott fast food going forward. You will not get my money. read more

I'm so sad to have to leave a bad review today, this location in Marina had been doing so well these Past few months. Today was very frustrating, I ordered 40 pieces chicken nuggets and I always check the bag before I leave because it's a common mistake to forget the sauce. Sauce was missing, I asked the lady for sweet and sour. She handed me salsa packets, I said "no sweet and sour", she then hands me syrup..lol I said said, no Sweet an sour for the 40 peice..she went and got help. A different lady came to window, what do you need? I said again.. sweet and sour for the 40 peice. She response irritated, "it's probably at the bottom of the bag". "I checked it's not" she then hands me two packets...I said I got a 40 peice. She even more irritated slams four more packets in my hand. This is a teaching moment...I too work in customer service. Always treat the customer with respect! We don't like having to think the customer is right but it's best practice. read more

This town is the kindest place for sweet gentle people. If you need the shy sort.of kind place to be in McDonald's..you come here. Best atmosphere. Super clean. Except for floor because for some dumb reason McDonald's hasn't gotten clean mop technical yet. String mops spread bacteria. Slop and they mop outdoors with same mop so they put car oil and ground dirt's in the store... But otherwise super clean. Well ok except for the bathrooms which for some reason have NO ventilation Ok it's just the atmosphere of the mood that's great. read more

I love the workers at this location. They're all so nice and respectful. This review is not aimed towards them personally, they get 5 stars all the way! I got this order from them, but I feel like this happens at every location. Every time I get the fish filet this is what it looks like. You can't just fix it because it either breaks apart or you peel the cheese off with it. Regular burgers are easy to fix, but never the filet-o-fish. Sadly I only got to eat half because the rest was all bread I hope one day I'll get a good one so I can update this review! read more

Have not been to this location in ages. My hubby and I decided to stop here for a quick lunch on the way home. We both ordered Big Macs. They were good and pretty hot, not as hot as we like, but still good. However, the fries were awful! Yes, I know!! McDonald's french fries, NOT GOOD! WTH!! They were no where near hot, they tasted like day old fries!! I have never had bad fries at a Mickey D's. But this place, gosh awful. Didn'twant to get back in that long lunch rush line, so we just ate a couple and threw them away. Too bad, we don't eat at the Golden arches much, but when we do,. we look forward to the fries... My fries were turned upside down, tastes like they're 3 days old, and not a single word from any of the employees working besides "what do you want to order". Another incident involving my friend, as she and her boyfriend were picking up a mobile order from the drive thru: the order was wrong so when they told him that the order was wrong he started giving them an attitude proceeding to say "what do you mean it's wrong what are we missing". They said it was five dollars extra and he told them to pull up to the window to give the money back. When they pulled up to the window he then proceeded to say "what do you want here's your five dollars you b*tch a** n word." They clarified to him as they were shocked and he then goes "what did you say?" and said the n word repeatedly again. As they tried to make amends and drove away he said "get home to your mom b*tch a** n word". Not only terrible food but absolutely disgusting customer service. How the hell do you mess up fries so bad. Atrociously unsalted and cold fries. Burger tasted like it was fresh out of the garbage can. Despicable dinning. Cantankerous cuisine. Felt horrible after eating it. My friends nuggets were cold on the inside and had a hard shell. If I were blindfolded I would've thought I was biting into a turtle. We didn't receive any straws, and the worker tossed the food in the car. I called the place back because we thought we had come in a few minutes before close, despite the bad food we received, and the worker had an attitude the whole time. Service has been hit and miss. A couple of workers seem to care but most seem to have an extremely hard time being cordial. The young man with scars all over his arm (self mutillation) should consider an intervention. His negative attitude is indicative of deeper issues and it doesn't represent your brand in a positive light. I can live with faulty orders. I can not deal with a "F" you attitude to go along with a burger with "wet stuff" all over the top of the bun, let alone no napkins and the wrong sized drink. You're about to lose a long time customer and should consider better training for the employees in service positions. read more

This is the closest McDonalds to my school, I tend to go here often even though their food is not good compared to other McDonalds in the area. Today I was disappointed once again as I ordered chicken nuggets and 2 cheeseburgers without ketchup. In reply to Jessica's letter I can appreciate your hours of work to put your self through school and to take care of your family. I know how hard it is to survive these times. In saying that I apologize for making negative comments. However in our visits we have had issues but we like the food there and am in hopes of better, quality service. So that is why we still visit. I would still say that the letter that I had posted was written out of frustration and really not intended to jeopardize your job. So I am retracting those comments. This is a great mcdons. Always fast and there when you need it. I have never had any issue with my order and the food is always hot hot hot! My favorite menu item is the Big Mac and they kill it. Fries, perfect. Soda, fresh. Sauce? Always. This Mcdonald's is one of the best on the Monterey Peninsula. Don't waste your time anywhere else! read more

Okay - so if you've decided to eat fast food, you know what you're getting with food choice / quality - so I don't address that. However, you do expect some level of competence and service (albeit small at fast food places). This McD's helps bottom out your expectations. The plus' are that its clean, food served hot, has a playground that always seems to have kids running around, and is has clean bathrooms / dining area. However, whenever I use the drive-thru I EXPECT that my order will be wrong. (For comparison, most places you EXPECT it will be right, and every now and then you're surprised... not this place.) The "Confirm Your Order Here" screen usually says, "We're Closed for the night" (no matter time of day) and so it doesn't show your order. The speaker is either really bad (i.e., even worse than others) because I can rarely understand the order read back, and the window will routinely forget straws, napkins or the order will be wrong. That said, I still go there - but I'm the a-hole sitting in the drive thru after I get my order checking it, and then making them fix it.... (sorry if you're behind me). read more

Customer service is good. I dont go there often, but when I do they have been very nice. Nice does not mean efficient though :(. There is usually something missing and I should know better than to return or should be checking my order right there and then. I went back to try their garlic fries and also bought a Big mac. I got so sick from eating their food. My teen had to go in to see his doctor from eating this too. Definitely not worth it. I will miss their regular fries. McDs needs to stop feeding their customers such low quality food and make sure they are following food handling regulations. They make tons of money why risk people's health like that?! read more

The best thing about this McDonald's is a lady named Stephanie that works there. She is so friendly & outgoing, always eager to help. She has the best personality. Every time I take my granddaughter in there I swear we have have a better overall experience when she is there. McDonald's should definitely keep her around (and appreciate her ). read more

New staff is severely lacking in training and management doesn't care. The drive thru is slow af all the time now and I've encountered more mistakes here in the last two weeks than all 8 years of going here. I don't need you to verify my order three times (you would think this would mean no mistakes but nope). I don't need you asking if I want Splenda, equal or sugar. The only people that want that are the people that request it. And I especially don't need you repeating my order two times while I order and then a third time before I pay just to get it wrong again. Talk about time consuming and not cost effective! Always a 20 mins wait minimum now, before I was in n out in 5. Bring back the other breakfast manager too please! She's so consistent unlike this new one. I think her name is Iliana. She's the best. Whenever I get one of those it always disappoints, I notice the chicken nuggets taste stale like there a day old and re fried again, the big macs bread also taste stale and hard. Very friendly staff. Always sweet to my daughter. When my 3rd grader and her friend asked to talk to the manager to explain No Straw November, the staff was very nice and made the girls feel that their cause was very important. When they saw how passionate the girls were they decided to take the pledge to only hand out straws on request for the rest of the month of November! If you get a chance to visit them this month, please do and let them know what they did for these girls- and for the environment- is appreciated. read more

I went through the drive thru today, I ordered 2 McChickens with tomato and Sriracha mac sauce (which I got charged for) small fries and a large drink. I paid, went to the second window and was asked to park and wait. As I move to park, one spot is taken by an empty car, and a male employee decides to take up the other spot. I have to park in the "mobile pick up" spot, and another car that was sent to park from the drive thru had to park next to me because there were two EMPTY cars taking up the drive thru parking spots! Anyway, after waiting for about 5 minutes, I get my food. I get home starving and although both sandwiches were marked "add tomato" & "add sriracha Mac sauce" NEITHER OF THEM HAD THEM!!! The shit really has to be fucked up for me to write my one and only review on a McDonald's. Let me start by saying I'm no hater. I love McDonald's. One look at me and it's obvious that I love McDonald's...quite too frequently, some would say. McDonald's should be considered a national treasure as far as I'm concerned. Monterey McDonald's? 5 stars. Sand City McD's? 4 stars. PG? 4 stars. Even ratty-ass Seaside McD's would earn 3 stars by me. But Marina? FUCK MARINA. It doesn't even deserve a star, if I could help it. The entire issue: The Night Shift. Or Evening Staff. The Drive-Thru Douchebags. Whatever the fuck you want to call them. Call them anything but "friendly" or "customer service-oriented". Matter of fact, I'm not even sure if they even have customer service, good or bad, since on more than one occasion, food was given to me without one word being said. Not a single word! Not one single fuck was given on those nights, including tonight. Not one. Unless Marina McD's management are saints and hire deaf-mutes to work the drive-thru, there are no excuses for this behavior. Like all companies worldwide, shitty staff starts from the top: The shitty shift leader. Each time I deal with this woman, it is unpleasant. In fact, the best customer service she gives me is when she doesn't say a word, which is fine. But the looks, combined with body language, speak volumes. I don't even know her on a personal level, but it's obvious that this lady HATES LIFE. And she projects it in her work. You know, I can appreciate someone struggling, working two jobs, going to school, feeding 5 kids...whatever. But do it with at least a smile on your face, and try to utter the word "Hi" once in a blue moon, even if it kills you. "Hi". Two letters. It's not that hard. Obviously, this isn't a one-time, itchy trigger finger, shoot from the hip, incident. This is over the course of YEARS. I believe in giving people in food service a 2nd, 3rd, 4th...10th chance, whatever the case may be . It's not an easy job and that's why I never end a request without a "please" and a "thank you". But my courtesy and easy-going nature has boundaries, and tonight was the last straw. Ironically, it wasn't the shift leader that did it. She actually said a word to me as she took my money. It was the bitch who handed me the food at the next window that left me wondering if this was my entire order because not one word was said. Here I am, sitting in my car, window down, holding up the drive-thru, in awkward silence as this individual walked away. WTF? Whatever. Not a single fuck was given tonight, and that is why my relationship with Marina McDonald's is officially OVER. Whatever. Their fries are soggy shit at night anyway.
