I tried to order a #1 Animal Style, and he just stared at me for a solid ten seconds before blinking. When he finally spoke, it was in super slow motion. I'm talking one... word... every... three... seconds. It felt like I was trapped in a glitchy Zoom call. ​When I asked if I could get chopped chilies, he let out this long, dramatic sigh, looked down at me like I was personally ruining his life, and mumbled, "We... have... those..." then just stood there. Stopped in on the way back to the Bay from Paso Robles. This is the only In-N-Out from Salinas down to Atascadero, so it was pretty packed on a Sunday afternoon. It's also right off the freeway entrance, so it's super convenient. Getting back onto 101 North couldn't have been easier. The drive through line was super long and the parking lot a little hectic, but we were able to get street parking. Despite how crowded it was, the line moved quickly and we were able to find a seat shortly after ordering. Service was friendly and food was good - exactly how In-N-Out should taste. read more

I come to in n out often, it seems to always be the same with putting the napkins right on top of the burgers. It's disgusting, if I had not seen who knows what would have happened to me. Please change this in n out habit. Also this is the second time that the person taking my order charged me separately for everything, when I asked for the meal. The animal style burger and animal style fries are always amazing! No matter how long the lines are, the staff keep the line moving - all day, every day. We always drive through but inside is equally busy, lots of seating, restrooms available. The employees need a tip jar for when people want to leave a tip. My wife and I come here about twice a month. The food is always good, zero complaints there. It's fairly consistent, but I do have a few minor gripes that I hope this place can improve on. One is speed of service, I know this place gets very busy and the drive thru can get long, but at times it takes several minutes just for us to move one car forward. Two is how rude and rushed the workers are at the second window, sometimes theyve even given us the wrong items (but we catch the mistake first). Other than that the food is great and consistent, just need to work on speed and politeness. read more

The food at every in-n-out is pretty much always top notch. The one thing you can count on is the consistency they provide in favor and presentation. Unfortunately the other thing you can also count on is that there will be a long wait. It's almost as if, no matter how many they build, there's always overwhelming demand. In-N-Out burger is ever so good, but they often burn their burgers which makes me nuts. They say they have to make them well done, but burning them is just gross. When they are made right they are really great. There are many good things at In-N-Out. They have great fries and their shakes are very good. They also have about anything you want, just ask them. They have chili although it is not on the menu, and you can get a grilled cheese, also not on the menu. This In-N-Out was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The food was made as ordered and nice and hot. It can get crowded, but the wait is not that bad. You will enjoy this place. What can you really say about it as the food and experience is typically the same whether in San Diego or Sacramento. They had quite the bum wrap for Covid protocols in the SF Bay Area and they are certainly, from observation, not conforming in Salinas. We reluctantly ate indoors and perhaps eating in the car would have been more advisable... it was too cold outdoors. I had my usual No. 2, simple- burger, fries and a soft drink. All of it was as to be expected. The burger was delicious and the fries spot on. The energy is typically good at this chain, and this location was right on par. Ok so I'm not mad or angry about a thing buuuuut I am used to a standard at in and out and this place kinda fell short. It was dirty like every other fast food place and out of things that we all kinda expect to be there when you stop to eat her. I used the restroom to wash my hands and the trash was over flowing, the paper towels were out (both dispensers) but they had soap so I'm good. I ordered my food and they read it back to me perfectly but gave me something totally different for some reason. The first time it was served 'for here' the second time after correcting the order it was "togo". Again none of this made me mad or upset but take a look at the burger meat! Considering this is the most south location on the 101 freeway until you get to Atascadero... Thanksgiving weekend was CRAZY BUSY! Many families stop here while driving toward Central California on their road trips. A line out the door, no parking available, a messy drive thru entrance that reaches the main street... Despite all of it, the workers here are so quick and efficient! We got our order in less than 15 minutes and our Double Double Cheeseburgers were perfect as always. They lost my order at the Salinas restaurant, I waited from #40 to #50 and asked the young man who was calling out the numbers where my food was. It was 2-#1's with onion and 2 regular fountain drinks. I said "it doesn't get any easier than 2 #1's" He said they were going to remake my order. I said " you're giving out the same hamburgers with fries and coke's! They got up to #58, I had been there for 30 minutes and I was getting upset. " I've got to go back to work! " The manager said she was giving me 2 free meals on courtesy cards for the next time I came in. One card worked the other card was "deactivated" according to the cashier in Mountain View. I don't understand why they didn't just grab two #1 orders right away. Why make one customer wait for 30 minutes! Let someone else wait for an extra 5 minutes. Poor service if you ask me! read more

Thee worst location I have ever been to... the dirty restroom/messy kitchen and ''meh' food quality are fixable, but the lousy parking lot set up (narrow and one way in... and out... yeah, I so went there), and the poorly managed drive-through line are not. I came with my brother-in-law, who ordered a burger while I went with a cheeseburger. I kid you not, I couldn't tell which was which because it looked instead like "lettuce or no lettuce". I got the one seemingly without lettuce- well some was there but it was smooshed into the middle of a burger whose contents were scattered unevenly. The cheese was there too; on the lower half hiding near the wrapper. I rarely order fries; this is the one time I do and got all the broken crunchies from the bottom of the pan. There weren't many options in the area so we decided on In n Out. Why? Because the burgers are the same any location you go to (and we had some kids in our group). It's also a slightly better option to the other fast food chains out there. Apparently we weren't the only ones thinking this. Burger was great once we got them and found a table to sit at. No one was cleaning the tables, so once one opened up I took my out wipes and wiped down the table before we sat.
