Not a big fast food eater but I like a good burger and Smashburger delivered. Hot and fresh tasting food. Had a double classic and some delicious crispy tots. The wife enjoyed her chicken mushroom burger thing and some pretty darn good brussel sprouts with a peppermint shake. Service here was polite and helpful with some added patience because we're old. It's clean for a busy place and that's nice. Last words... let's drive to Smashburger. read more

Pretty darn good, however it's just super overpriced and greasy! What are they thinking?! The burgers are not even that big sheeshh!!

This is a great burger spot to scratch that itch if you want to grab a smash burger without breaking the bank. I usually go to "the guys" but shelling out $20 for a burger, fries, and a drink, at a "fast food" joint is getting ridiculous. I appreciate that they also offer crispy chicken options when you're not feeling the beef at the moment. And they offer a much better value compared to other smash burger spots. Sandwiches start around $5 bucks and go from there. The only reason this is not five stars is because consistency is shoddy. Sometimes the burger is absolutely perfect and other times it's poorly seasoned and overcooked. If I'm hungry and in the area, though, I'm willing to take the gamble. read more

Bacon is not fully cooked fries very oily and they also nickel and dime you for pickles and onions immediately grossed me out on how oily the food is served when it arrived tonight table. Weeknight trip- no wait. Don't come as often as they changed their side options. They used to have onion strings that we loved. Surprised this time with new smashfries and Smashtots. They have a lot of flavor and we enjoyed them. Order at the register, get a number and wait at your table. They bring the food to you. Condiments and napkins are on the table in a basket. Previously you had to get the condiments and napkins by the drink machines so that was nice. read more

This is our favorite burger spot on the Monterey Peninsula. The food is ALWAYS fresh, hot and customized to how you request. It is clean. Parking is okay, it shares a lot with quite a few other businesses but that's not a deal breaker for the quality of food I'm getting. Hands down, what stands out for me, beyond the truffle mushroom burger and smash fries is the service provided by the staff at SmashBurger. It's quite a contrast from other local restaurants. I would be remiss if I didn't give special kudos to the young man who has been there the past few times we've been in, Steven. His work ethic is bar none. And his enthusiasm to provide high quality service is something you simply don't see anymore. Don't hesitate to give Smashburger a try. We are traveling through from out of state and had to eat in the car even though they were open until 10 PM. We went back inside for napkins since none were provided in the bag. Burgers here were great. I know some have complained about service, but my family has come here at least a half dozen times now (it's becoming a bit of a tradition since I charge my vehicle at a nearby charger) and service has always ranged from "fine" to "pretty good". My kids really dig the mac and cheese smashburgers in particular. Between the smashed burgers and the crispy edge you get on the cheese as it drips down the side onto the cooking griddle - it's really quite a treat. Smashed it ! We had a craving for a gr8 burger, went to one joint a couple of weeks ago and it fell massively short... This weekend we found ourselves in the Marina area and I remembered reading about Smash Burger on Yelp of which I didn't try on the last run as I assumed a chain !... anyhow, popped in, we both had Colorado burgers on their recommendation and split the tots (wished I hadn't split them)... Honestly, it was exactly what is was looking for, unctuous and dripping with bad goodness !.... highly recommended.. It's now our goto burger joint when we get the craving. Our first time here, the burgers are tasty, gourmet and juicy. I love the truffle double! The truffle mayo is flavorful. Fries are crispy and fresh. Food was served promptly. Last but not least, the service is the best! We asked for jalapeño and the chef sautéed it fresh for us at no charge! It tastes amazing with the burger. We've never been to other locations. They advertise right by the register "Wednesdays KIDS EAT FREE!" In fine print it says kids under 12 get a free kids meal with the purchase of an adult meal. My kids are under 12 and it's Wednesday . They said they don't honor that promotion. I said, I understand that not all stores would honor the franchise promotion but why wouldn't you cover up that promotion inside your store then? This is a small but very cute restaurant. The food is yummy, reasonably priced and you get large portions. The people who waited on us were fast and extremely friendly. Thumbs down. Bad service, poor diligence to be honest. Nobody answering the phones. I waited an hour 20 minutes for a DoorDash order. The fries were cold ( I'm assuming that's door dash's fault, (he was kind of small minded too so) but there are also a lot of DGAF teens they hire nowadays. I wouldn't be surprised if their personal standards weren't up to date) and I paid for a TWO BURGER COMBO and got ONE BURGER and COLD FRIES for $40! I work as a bartender in PG and I always check my tickets, and bags assigned as take out when people order food. Normally I wouldn't be mad, but after a long ahhhh day at work, having to lie and tell my GF I ate already so she didn't feel bad that my food didn't come isn't how I wanted to spend my day. Aaaaand we're moving, so there's 0 food in our place right now, and I live 20 mins from any sort of food. A year later and this place is still a joke. We walked to the door at 8:25pm and the door was locked. It looked crowded inside so we thought "maybe the other door is unlocked" but we didn't bother. How hard is it to post a sign on your window. The location is in Marina, CA 93933. Shouldn't be too hard to look it up. It's the only location in that area. read more

Love the service here! I couldn't decide what to get and the young lady at the register helped me with the menu. She was so knowledgeable about the menu and even offered to check what kind of fish they offered. The establishment is clean and very efficient since I only waited five minutes for my burger. I am a vegetarian/pescatarian and ordered the black bean burger. Not only was the burger not esthetically pleasing and falling apart but it also tasted horrible. This is somewhat concerning since now there are other alternatives such as the impossible burger that are easily available at other restaurant and fast food services. My fries were also disappointing since they were drenched in oil (not the pleasing amount fries should have) The reason why I still gave three stars is because there is major potential here and if you eat meat you might have better luck. I've been here a number of times and I personally have always had a great experience overall. The staff is friendly, food always tastes fresh & great, plus it's one of the cleanest restaurants in the area. One of the supervisors, Esmeralda(I believe she also goes by Esme), is great! I've been lucky that she's been the one who has taken the majority of my orders. She's pleasant to interact with and has had some solid suggestions/recommendations whenever I ask for input of custom orders. Smashburger is lucky to have someone like her in a leadership role. The only cons weren't really with my personal experiences there, but more so observations. While the general manger of this location has been nice to me during the few interactions I've had with her, I have noticed she is a bit condescending/rude to some of her staff. Almost bully like. It bothered me enough to mention it here, as I used to work in food service and she reminded me of the manager I had at the time. I understand how a manager like that can greatly hurt morale in the workplace. I hope it was just a one off thing. Also, parking in the area isn't the best. Especially during the lunch rush. It's not their fault, just a lot of business in the shopping center. I live within walking distance, so I've been fine. But you may want to plan accordingly if you are deciding on getting some Smashburger in person. Service was polite, fast and all that you could ask for from a fast food burger spot. Burgers were freshly made and absolutely hit the spot. I could really taste the truffle flavor in my truffle mushroom swiss burger and the single patty with fries was the perfect portion for me. The double smoked brisket with bacon is a bit overkill for my pallet but delicious as well. It was meat on top of meat on top of meat which meant the buns had a lot of heavy lifting to do. Unfortunately with all the sauce, meat juices and shear weight, the bottom bun didn't have a chance and was deteriorating with every bite. I got the Brisket bacon burger. It was very delicious. I'm always skeptic about how people make their brisket but it wasn't tough or dry. Very tender, and great amount of bbq sauce. My family and I went to Monterey for fun and decided to grab Smashburger across the street from our hotel. I saw the reviews but ignored them because use the kids wanted burgers. My wife ordered an Avocado double with no bun. We got a double with no bun but also no avocado and no cheese. That was disappointing but worse than that is when we called 3x nobody answered.
