We enjoyed our lunch at the Mound City Mcdonalds while we were on our way to Loess Bluffs National Refuge to see the Snow Geese Migration. The restaurant was kept clean, the staff was kind and wonderful to speak with and the food was prepared perfectly with super fast service. No complaints at all. This Mcd is 5-8 mins far from the visitor center of Loess Bluffs so if you would like to start the auto tour with some yummy burger and fries then this is your place to stop! read more

The lady at the window was very rude. They tried to give us two humongous cones. Told her, no that won't work. She stated it was 90 degrees in the store and the ice cream was soft. I used to work at McDonald's and it was not soft, they need to control the output. Slammed the window shut. read more

This is how McDonald's should be. The friendly atmosphere, the cleanliness, Cheyenne's welcoming smile and her taking upon herself the try my order more than one way to get me the best deal, the kiosk not being used and having her smiling face welcome me instead of a nasty kiosk, all make this the best McDonald's ordering experience in quite a while. The kids in the dining room were happy to take my biscuit and hash browns and the rest of the clientele were just as happy and friendly even though this is a highway easy off and on WITH TRUCK PARKING. This little stop has been one of our regular stops, but this is our first stop at McDonald's here. The eggs are fluffy. The sausage not too greasy, but just enough for good flavor. They get my vote for a quick drop in on the way through next time too. read more

Store hours are not accurate, staff was not helpful. I tried to drive through at 9:54PM and was unapologetically told I cannot order certain items due to them preparing to close. Was a very strange encounter with what I assume was an under trained high school kid. *posted store hours online, on yelp and on store window indicated drive through closing at 11:00pm. The so called manager here had a MAJOR attitude when my family came in. We stood far from the counter while viewing the menu. She acted bothered that we weren't ready to order. She then told another female employee that "she needed to come to the front because she was not gonna be waiting on counter orders." The employee that came to take our order just stared at me, no greeting, no customer service. This young girl also had a very unbecoming attitude. We were only passing through on a 3000 mile drive across country. I asked for the general managers' name and she refused to give that and also refused to give me HER name after she stated that she was A manager. I believe she refused to give me her name because she realized the horrible service she had given me. She didn't even bother to ask what's wrong or how she can assist as manager. Since I do not have a name I can give a description of this employee. She was a Caucasian woman around mid 40's with neck length black hair and glasses. She acted very indifferent towards me when I asked for bbq sauce for my daughters chicken nugget kids meal (there was only 1 in the box for 6 nuggets). She had major attitude when handing me ONE more. I also had to ask for a lid for the large drink as there weren't any stocked. Again she had major attitude. To be in management whether gained from experience or having a degree she really needs to work on her customer service skills. Quite a hopping McD's right of I-29. It was full of locals and travelers all getting their fast food fix. With the high volume of customers, I was impressed how clean the staff kept the interior. Well done! We had your typical meal here, with X, Y, and Z all arriving to our table fast and tasting perfectly acceptable. I'll probably eat here again in the future. read more

How rude! On our way through Mound City we stopped here and went inside to order our food to go. The woman running the food basically just tossed it on the counter and as I asked her for additional ketchup she turned around and walked away. I patiently waited for her to come back and when I asked again for additional ketchup she grabbed a handful and literally tossed it towards the bag. What packets didn't fly onto the floor were covered in honey. I fished them out of the bag and found a nice young guy to help me out. For what it's worth the young kids working there were really nice and helpful unlike that woman with nasty homemade looking tats on her arm. read more

Gave this spot 3 chances to get it right. Each time the sandwiches were cold, and the fries old and soggy from grease. If you happen to order 2 sandwiches be sure to clarify you want the 2 for 6 or they'll happily charge you full price for both. read more

Food was fresh and fast! First window lady was very kind and professional! Second window lady.... she really does not like her job. She never made eye contact and couldn't throw our food out the window quick enough. She forgot our straws so we backed up which was apparently a huge inconvenience to her. We will stop here again in our travels - hopefully she won't be there! read more

I would post the main problems i had with this mcdonalds but there was so many of them. There toilet was clogged with toilet paper and paper towels. The workers the sneezed on my food and then left it on the counter and tild me to wait one sec and then brough out a wet cheese burger they forgot to give me. The worst lart of it all was the food after 30 minutes of waiting was fricking cold. COLD!! I was furious. 1 out of 10. Do not recommend. read more

I was very unsatisfied with the service at this restaurant. They put the slow in "fast food". First, as we waited patiently to order our food, workers were laughing and playing on there phones. When we ordered, we had a question and the lady working did not know how to answer it. Finally, after waiting 10 minutes, we got our food. Not really that fast. This is the absolute worse McDonalds that I have been to!! My family and I stopped in there to use the restroom and get dinner on our way home from Iowa to Kansas City and all the employees were standing around while all the customers had to place their orders on a kiosk. They continued to stand there even when we were having difficulties. When we finally asked for help they came over and told us that my 3 year old needed shoes on to be inside. I was so frustrated! So instead of their employees actually working and helping their customers they didn't do their job. read more
