Too much sauce and my fries were cold although the restaurant is nearby ... they were old

Ok, I realize it's a little silly to review a McDonald's. The food is not good by comparison to almost anything. And I don't usually eat here. Last time I did, I got all the way home only to discover my hamburger had no meat! Frustrated and hungry I went back for my refund. A manager happened to be in the dining area, overheard my complaint, and really stepped up. Besides apologizing profusely, he promised to talk to the line cook, and gave me free fries and a gift card for a free meal. Why is this worth yelping about? Because it was a better response--from a customer-service perspective--than I've received in many fancy-pants high-end restaurants. I can't recall how many times a cook or waiter has screwed up my order and I had to sit and wait for it to be fixed and all I got (if I was lucky) was a half-hearted apology or a nervous chuckle (see my review of F.X. McRory's for a good example). So kudos to McD's for getting something right. read more

On my way to work I pass by 3 McDonald's and I choose the newcastle one bc I thought things were cheaper but I realized they just haven't change prices. For the last two weeks I've asked them and the manager to his face to fix the menu board or charge me $1 for my hash browns and it still hasn't change. It's my fault for not noticing when looking at the ordering screen but it is also false advertisement and I'm disappointed. I'm never going to that McDonald again (doubt it matters) read more

This mcdonalds is sooo slow, it's quicker to drive 15 minutes to another one... Hands down the slowest ever!!!! Once a quarter well give it another chance, but sure enough...... Still slow. I've seen customers just walk out, give up, many times . Even when there are only you and maybe one other person.... They just can't seem to do it. read more

I have had some rough experiences at other McDonald's. 40 minute wait times, being given a raw burger, getting food poisoning, messed up orders, etc. This one is seemingly better. Quick service, no mistakes. read more

I agree with the other 2/star reviews except I can't bring myself to give this place more than 1. Yeah it's silly to bother reviewing a McD's unless you want to help unwary would-be customers avoid this particular location like the plague. I vote this the worst McD I've ever been to. Had to do with the owner I think. They must tell their staff to not include ketchup or napkins unless the customers specifically request them. Yeah check your bag before leaving if you're unfortunate enough to visit this place. I go to the bank next door and I avoid this McD's like the plague it is. They NEVER honor any of the chain-wide coupons because the owners are stinking cheap and crazy grubby. I live in Newcastle and hope they go out of business soon. Ice cream machine is always broken. I can never get my favorite icy treats! Staff is very nice, friendly and fast.

After this store remodel the service is worst. We had order a couple of fries with our meal and they came out cold and over cook. We complain about them and replace with a couple of more fries and those were colder and way over cook and both meals was not good. Also the people who was taken our order never gave us our receipt, cups for drinks and order number. When the order came our they were calling a number which was never given to us, I had to ask what order was it for. And the last thing, the works acted like they did not care. We'll probably not go there again and if do what a McDonald will just go to another one. read more

I would give a zero if I could. The manager, Roxanne, is one of the rudest people I've ever encountered in customer service. This place is disorganized and at times filthy. I've been there five times and had the wrong order give it to me on more than one occasion and cold food on two occasions. When I brought this to the manager's attention she essentially said that's the way it is. I hate to be the first to inform her that - no that's not right. Me and my boyfriend both got intoxicated after eating here. He told me he went last saturday, got a Big Mac and fries, but spent the whole night with stomachache and throwing up. Now thinking it wouldnt be the same for me i went yesterday and got a quarter pounder. Same reaction, i have been feeling terrible and couldnt go to work today. I dont know if its the veggies that are not fresh enough or some of the ingredients but eating there a week apart and two different people got the same reaction. It is really bad. read more

We pulled into the drive-thru tonight at 10:49pm (their hours indicate that they are open until 11pm). As we pulled into the drive-thru, they shut the lights off on us!!!! Who does that? I asked the young man at the counter what kind of girl toys they have, he took a quick look and tell me there is a red one and a purple one. So I asked him to clarify what the purple one is. When he is able to check, an older man (maybe 30's to 40's, with beard and seems to the young man superior) just yell at me and him at the same time saying: "There is none left" in a very rude matter. So it might be some kind of magic that whatever purple toy they have just disappear within that minute! I understand if they are busy, they might not have time for any questions, but I am the only customer at the counter at that time. Why on earth can that man be so rude? And this is not the first time he treated me that way. Maybe because I am an Asian? To be fair, there are other people in the store who are 100 times nicer and more normal than that man. Why McDonald do allow that man to have that kind of behavior is beyond me. read more

If you sit in drive-through for under 20 minutes it means that you got there on a good day

I wish I could go into the negative stars. Took toddlers for ice cream and play. Ice cream machine was broken. Check out the photos of the play place. I have no more words. Too bad this can't be posted in smell-o-vision. Then you'd get the entire effect. read more

Even giving this place 1 star is pushing it. I have never had a good experience here. The WORST however is what made me want to post this review. I took my kids here tonight and ordered Happy Meals for both of them. I was sharing fries and as I took one out of my daughter's fries I saw something land in my ketchup. It was a wing from a bug. I dumped her fries out and found 2 long bug legs as well. I took the fries and bug parts to the manager. They offered me new fries but I declined. We went back to the table to finish our food, and as my son was eating HIS fries I saw something black at the bottom of the box. Yes, there it was...the BODY of the bug. Needless to say at this point I was pretty ticked off. I took the rest of the fries and the BUG to the manager and requested a refund. Felt bad for the kids since I promised them ice cream, but there was no way I was going to order anything else. read more

They close too early! every time i want something that's a special item it is advertised and they dint have it! The manager seems to be having a bad day and push you through your order. Most of the employees are rude too. The was a nice counter boy there for once though! It is across the street so easy for quick eats. read more

Quite possibly the worst McDonald's in the nation. The last time I went there (purely out of convenience), I found a RUBBER BAND in my French fries! When I informed the manager, she just played dumb and offered me a free meal. Another time they gave me a packet of sugar with a SHOE PRINT on it! Reading some of the other reviews, these are not uncommon occurrences at this location. I am determined to never set foot in this cesspool of an excuse for a fast food joint ever again. Their French fries are always overdone, stale, and cold, as if they just fry up one big batch in the morning and let it sit all day. They usually leave an item out of my drive-through order or just get something wrong altogether. And they close way too early (like most other restaurants on the Eastside). read more

My experience is pretty much the same as the other reviewers for this McDonalds and the one down off of Exit 7 from I-405. They either gave me the wrong thing, charge for an extra condiment or just not give a very good feeling about wanting to go back. I found out that the two franchises were owned by the same franchisee so I think it must be from the top down because I know I've had very satisfying experiences at other McDonalds. I usually get my drinks and snack at McDonalds or Burger King on the fly. read more

Poor availability of food offerings. I've gone thru the drive thru here occasionally only to hear the response to my order 'oh, we don't have that made up right now (yogurt parfait)' or ' our ice cream machine isn't working today.' I won't bother driving to this location anymore. Another franchise nearby is a better bet, even if I have to drive a mile or two more. read more

When my friends and I arrived at 10:45pm the employees said it was closed. The sign clearly showed that it should be open till 11:00pm but the employees decided to shut down 15 minutes early. We knocked on the door and asked to come in but they rejected us and refused to give us reasoning. As we walked away angrily, we saw them laugh about what just happened. I felt completely and utterly disrespected and will never go back to this location unless there are major staffing changes. read more

If I can give it zero stars I would, I have tried to support our local business but this one deserves none. I've had it over 10 years, 1 out of 20 orders came out correct. Every time I go there, different staff. You think you can't screw up a cone, think again, their machine is set borderline freezing, the cone was dripping as it came to us in the middle of winter. This happened more than once, I would question the quality of their meat products. It is probably colder outside than their freezer. This last and final visit, all I ordered were 2 apple juice through a drive thru, my kids asked to use their treat coupons, on the back of it says "one certificate per child per visit", they basically rejected it and said one coupon per family. This came from the manager's mouth! Obviously they interpret their franchise manual and consumer labels differently. This is the worst McD running on a low budget!!!!!!! read more

Found mold on bread and my mom got really sick. Yup and drive through always gets order wrong so double check before u leave that window!

Called this location the day to make sure that the drive thru was still open before going and when we came only a few minutes later they claimed to be closed. So frustrating !! read more

Why rate a McDonald's and how can it get five stars? I read the reviews and this is for dining in not drive through or carry out. I ordered my food and the lady gave me my drink cup before my food so awesome there (I have issues not getting my cups while I wait). Sat down and they didn't call me my number but actually brought me my food to my my table. Bonus points. The food was just as good as any other McDonalds I have been to. It was warm and fast. The burgers had meat on them this time and all the other ingredients as well. Again this was me dining in I have no experience with to-go or drive through. read more

The Newcastle / Coal Creek McDonald's is to be avoided at all costs. The one off Exit 7 on 405 is much better if you are doing the McDonalds thing. The Newcastle McDonalds has something wrong with it. I can't put my finger on it but service is noticeably slow, the orders consistently wrong, there is a definite lack of trash receptacles, shake machine consistently broken, etc. The last time I was there, there were three people in the lobby that had been through drive thru and had received the wrong things. read more

Worst McDonald Ever. Once every 10 years I think I want BigMac. It had been 10 years. So we walked into the store (not drive thru). I ordered a big mac and my wife ordered chicken nugets. try brought our food, I got bigmac, my wife got milkshake and fries??? They didn't understand english and it took a while to explain that they brought the wrong food. We finally got our food and went home. Bigmac was cold and dry, It was like they took the whole thing from the back room and macrowaved it. My wife's chicken nuggets were basically fried batter. No chicken in it. Not that McDonald has a good reputation, but these people dragged what's left of their name in the dirt. I think my next McDonald meal will be 20 years from now. read more

Customer service is OK however they mess up order ms so frequently that it's just unreal. Got an unsweetened iced tea today and believe it or not that was messed up. It was like drinking water with a drop of ice tea in it. And this is not the first time that has happened. Also their menu board does not display the correct prices or many items are missing, and when I pointed it out they've told me that it is on the board when actuality it is not. It is McDonald's so I don't expect anything in terms of service, but when you screw up an iced tea you've got to be incredibly lacking. read more

My kids call this "the bad McDonalds" and ask if we can go to the one off 405. They ALWAYS get something wrong. It's a joke, we even make a game out of it, "find the mistake this time!" We avoid it, except that its so close to our house. read more

As a owner of McD stocks, I really enjoy supporting McDonald's. However, this is the worst that I've seen. Never gets my order right and food is consistently bad. This McDonald's is awful! I usually don't go here because I live in Factoria which is the next town over. We recently bought a house in Renton. So I pickup the guys lunch on my way there. The first bad encounter I had was through the drive thru. I placed my order which was 4 meals. My bag was missing 3 burgers and the fries were cold. I had also ordered 4 meals and was only given 3 drinks! The manager actually gave me an attitude and rolled her eyes at me! Then she walked all the way to the first window to ask the cashier and reprint my receipt which was in my hand. I was given my food and drink that was missing due to them with LOTS of attitude. The second time I went there (still asking myself why.) I ordered 1 of 4 meals again and was rudely cut of by the guy taking my order in drive through! I said ummm I have more to order. He said go ahead RUDELY! Then when I got to the window he didn't even say sorry! And again my order was missing 2 sandwiches! So I had to pull forward and wait and the customers behind me were mad at me! Then when I arrived at my destination, the 2 sandwiches were singles QP not double so I was charged more for less. So the third time I went to this location it happened again! This time I just felt stupid, but the people at the bank next door are super nice and efficient! I again was missing 2 sandwiches. I honestly didn't think it would happen a third time so this time I had to park and go inside. When I went inside I stood there for a few minutes before I was asked rudely what I needed. I told the manager I was missing food, again they treated me like a liar. It took them 10 min to find my receipt in the computer system and get my sandwiches. I told the manager they really need to work on their customer service. I understand this happens from time to time. But three times in a row!!!! The manager who does not speak fluent English did not even apologize to me! They stood there speaking in Spanish to each other. I know they were talking about me because I took Six years of Spanish!!! BTW the owners email address is on the wall in the restaurant, but its such an off the wall address you have to write it down or put in your phone (which I didn't have.) He probably does that because he is sick of complaints! Do not eat here! The service sucks, the orders are wrong, and the food is cold! read more

Warning! Do not take your kids here! When it is this close to home circumstances warrant the "I'm in a hurry" meal for your children. Every meal here is never fresh, but we continue to patron when we are rushed. The service is friendly and they are quick, but BE WARY-quick does not mean fresh! This was the worst experience yet. The sausage mcmuffin ordered for my child was scary! The egg yolk on top was green and turning a dark grey color and the underside of the egg was dark brown and crispy to give a fresh cooked appearance, but with black grill pieces stuck to it. The sausage patty looked dried out as if it had been sitting for hours. I am so thankful that we checked it before handing it back to one of the kids to eat. When we made a decision to return the sandwich, the manager said, "this was just cooked." I was appalled and immediately asked for a refund. NO MORE MC D's for this family! DON'T TAKE YOUR KIDS HERE or you may wonder where the belly ache came from! All our neighbors concur that this McDonald's is the worst in town. Be Warned!! read more

Had an incoming call while paying at the drive through. Slightly flustered while I juggled paying, and delayed taking the important call. Apologized to the employee for the slight rudeness. I guess they got offended, because all of my Monopoly pieces were peeled off. Petty. No real reason to pay for the food if you don't get to play the monopoly game. read more
