Had a curbside order and I was in a hurry to get to a nearby park for a basketball practice so I didn't check it before we left. Their food is consistently subpar compared to other McDonalds. If you're in this area and want to visit a McDonalds, go to the one in Factoria or the one on Sunset near Duvall in Renton. In addition to subpar food quality, I have a more precise complaint. Tonight, against my better judgment, I ordered at this location via the McD's app. My wife was in the neighborhood and I thought she could quickly pick up my order. I sent her the order code that the app provided and she waited fifteen to twenty minutes only to be told they didn't have my order. Because I had the order memorialized on my phone, I had to drive down to the restaurant to prove I had placed the order at the right location and had paid for it as "they couldn't find" my order. When I got there, they had apparently "found" my order as it was on the counter--with a different order number than the one assigned by the app. I complained that I shouldn't have had to come all the way to the restaurant and expressed my displeasure. They barely speak English and seem to mess up every single order. You need to be really specific with what you're ordering or they just press any button and pray it's right. That's what it seems like. Even when you speak Spanish to them their Spanish is terrible too. They hire ANYONE here. I choose the McDonald's all the way in renton over this one. The severe incompetence of the people who work here is mind boggling. I've come to this place twice recently and each time through the drive through. Each time I pulled up to the menu and speaker, I couldn't see the menu because the receipt of the last person's order was up. The first time I asked them to clear the receipt so I can see the menu, the girl said they don't control the computers so she can't clear the receipt so I was unable to see the menu. I let it pass that time, but the second time it happened, I couldn't keep it together. I had to start shouting at the girl to learn how to do her job and show me the menu, and she kept repeating, idiotically, that she doesn't control the computer. Finally someone helped her clear the screen and the menu popped up but by that time I didn't trust them not to spit in my food and it put me in an entirely bad mood. i'm not sure if she's the manager of this location, but she's an older Hispanic lady who is incredibly rude and incredibly mean she gave me the wrong mobile order today and then requested that I gave her the one back that she gave me that was incorrect that had already been contaminated by my hands and it looked like she was ready to serve it to somebody else, I've been to THIS McDonald's for 10+ years and she's been always horribly rude. don't recommend this place to anybody. read more

I went through the drive-through at the Newcastle location this afternoon and ordered a vanilla shake. The vanilla shake was soupy like water so I sent it back and asked for another one. Same experience so I asked to speak to the manager. He told me that is how milkshakes look and that is the consistency. I told him that is not the case Milkshake's should have a thick consistency, not look like soup. I told him it appeared that his machine was broken. He told me it wasn't his problem if I didn't like the way his milkshakes were. I asked him for the name and phone number of the owner and he refused to give it to me and it is not posted at either drive up window. read more

Went this morning to get my usual 2 CHICKEN muffins with pickles added. The man misheard apparently and ordered me 2 SAUSAGE muffins with pickles added (gross!). One of the less enjoyable McDonald's experiences out there. The hours here are bad. They close really early (like most things in Newcastle). Its a pain to actually get in - I guess the construction outside isn't there fault, but that doesn't make it less annoying. The food I've gotten here is generally pretty stale and cold...and lets not talk about the cup of coffee they gave me. Terrible! Even by their standards. Its kinda embarassing that I'm the mayor of this location on Foursquare. I mean, I've only been there twice...guess not many other people patronize this particular location. Ok, I realize it's a little silly to review a McDonald's. The food is not good by comparison to almost anything. And I don't usually eat here. Last time I did, I got all the way home only to discover my hamburger had no meat! Frustrated and hungry I went back for my refund. A manager happened to be in the dining area, overheard my complaint, and really stepped up. Besides apologizing profusely, he promised to talk to the line cook, and gave me free fries and a gift card for a free meal. Why is this worth yelping about? Because it was a better response--from a customer-service perspective--than I've received in many fancy-pants high-end restaurants. I can't recall how many times a cook or waiter has screwed up my order and I had to sit and wait for it to be fixed and all I got (if I was lucky) was a half-hearted apology or a nervous chuckle (see my review of F.X. McRory's for a good example). So kudos to McD's for getting something right. read more
