I tried to order through the drive-through…read more The AI, after multiple attempts, couldn't take understand my drink order, a frosty half vanilla and half chocolate. Eventually a human female voice said, " got it" and immediately a male voice came on saying. "Pull forward". It was very confusing. I mentioned I wasn't done placing my order and I was told to wait, which I did. When the male voice came through again, I was asked to start over. Since I had already tried to place my order multiple times, I expressed frustration by saying "are you kidding me?". But, apparently that was too much because the male voiced said, "good-bye" and he "didn't like my attitude". The whole interaction was quick and shocking. Come to find out the male voice identified as the manager. Even talking face-to-face with him, didn't resolve anything. His final comment was "what does it matter"? While I got the sense he thought he was standing up for his employee ( which I admire), I was not disrespecting his employee. The whole interaction was unfortunate, I don't think he realizes how confusing it can be interacting with the Ai, versus random disembodied voices that come over the drive- through speaker. I left feeling very frustrated and disrespected by this manager. Ultimately, I never did get to place my lunch order. Good thing there are plenty of other places to grab a quick lunch that want customer business ! So sad, though as I like to support local businesses.

The worst part was my inability to understand the fast talking non-English speaker and the call was way too long and frustrating. They said it would be ready in 10-15 minutes - so I got up there immediately (it's a 15 minute drive). But I then had to wait 10 minutes more after arrival to get the order. Of course they wanted a tip again. No tip, and not returning to Papa Johns. Who ends all this stress and hassle just to get a pizza? I'm going back to Country Inn Pizza in Oldsmar. It's easy - I call them locally, talk to the actual store, no sales pitch, no clubs with personal info exposed, and I go pick it up, always smooth.
