My pizza tasted fresh and delicious. Liked the tomato sauce and the pineapple topping I requested. I especially liked the well baked crust; it was crunchy even though it wasn't thin crust. They followed my instructions exactly and gave me a pie light on the cheese, with an appropriate amount of pineapple topping. Well it's Papa John's, so you should know what to expect. We got their jack-o-lantern shaped pizza for Halloween, because we're suckers. I just ordered from this Papa John's tonight. I use the mobile app like I usually do. It took $50.01 from my account for three pizzas but they did not receive my order. I'm not in a position to charge my account again. The manager Collin wasn't able to help me in anyway. I expressed the Need to feed my children tonight. He agreed that the money was taken out of my account. He saw with his own eyes. I told him I'm trying to feed three children and I don't have the means to get recharged to my card. He didn't even offer to give me one pizza as compensation, so the kids could have something to eat. Horrible customer service. We will never order from here again. I'm commenting on this post because everything at Papa Johns could be made better My wife and I went to Papa John's for the first time anxious to try the new pizza bowls and a papadi, just to start we would never go back , the veggie bowl was not hot and was very greasy not quite sure how they made a veggie bowl greasy , but they did. I asked if the papadia looked like the picture online and I was told by a very rude worker no. so I opted for a small cheese pie. The pie was so small I would never get another one spending $11 on a cheese pie that has almost no sauce. it seem no bigger than two slices of a regular pie which I can get anywhere for five bucks or so. so for anyone reading this, I recommendations and make it better on your own because they don't know what they're doing. read more

As a person who has spent over 35 years in the restaurant industry, including pizza in NY and Florida, this was pretty hard for me to watch. Having that background and being on the other side of the kitchen door, I treat anyone in a service industry with respect, since I know the stress it brings and the behind the scenes bs. Everything from sanitation to customer service was sub par. To walk into a place that I'm giving my money to, and made to feel as if I was an inconvenience, was not good. I start observing out of curiosity as the associates make the pizzas and it's a mess. Then I watch the guy taking a phone order put the phone down, grab the dough, and start tossing a pie. No gloves, no hand washing, nothing. That's disgusting. I see another guy adjusting his hat, scratching his head, then goes back to rounding a dough. Then the workers are all talking inappropriately and loud as if no customers were even there. Now I'm no prude, I have a loud, inappropriate tone also at times, but not in front of customers, or strangers for that matter. There's a time and a place for that. I finally got my pizzas and the boxes looked small, I asked nicely, "is this a large pie?", And the person I spoke to replied in a condescending tone " this- is - a- large, The other is an exxxxtra large, this is large, other is big pie" using his hands to exaggerate his reply like I was 5 yrs old. I bit my lip, before things got ugly. The food was just ok, but what do you expect, it's Papa John's, not a 5-star pizzaria? But it was hard to eat after witnessing the process and lack of sanitation. If it wasn't for the Nifty Fifty promo I wouldn't have gone at all, and probably won't go back. read more

I worked for PJ Foodservice in the mid 1990's as a production team leader making pizza dough. Apparently, they never figured out why the pizza has a crunch in Louisville but not in Florida. I had a work's pizza this evening and jalapeño poppers and found the food to be outstanding. I read reviews from others regarding this particular store and found that after having received my food that the reviews that I had read were totally inaccurate. Delivery was on time and in less time than what I had been told on the phone. My family and I ordered $60+ worth of pizza. They forgot to put BBQ sauce on our BBQ Chicken Papadia. They also barely put any sauce on our $20 dollar specialty pizza and forgot a side of spicy garlic sauce. After moving to the Countryside area and deciding to order pizza, we were surprised that the "closest" location was this one on East Lake Rd, since a Google search indicated there was one closer in Dunedin. Regardless, we decided to adhere to the "wisdom" of the Papa Johns ordering site. After placing a rather pricey $65 order for two pizzas, a 2 liter of soda, and breadsticks, the waiting game began... Then the ominous "hey brahhhh, i'm lost lol" phone call. Not sure how it's possible to get lost during a 4 mile drive, especially when there are things like Waze and Google Maps to get you there. After 70 minutes, our food arrived from the sheepish delivery driver who scampered off just about as fast as he could. We brought everything inside, opened up the boxes, and the first thing we noticed? Room temperature pizza. Hooray. I was beyond upset. $65 to wait over an hour for cold pizza? Come on. So we begrudgingly ate our food, and the next day I replied to PJ's "how was everything?" e-mail with a livid response. Amazingly enough, I got a call the following day from the store manager, indicating that if we wanted to try them again, the next order would be on the house. So of course, we took them up on the offer. Guess what???? Same thing happened, almost identical to the first ordering experience from this location. Over an hour to get the pizza (we were quoted 35 minutes on the phone) and it arrived cold. Completely done at this point. The end. On to the presentation of the pizza itself, which ironically was pretty great. Too bad it didn't taste like anything other than sweet tomato sauce and doughy pizza crust. Every bite I took, I found myself wishing there was a Westshore Pizza close by. We appreciated the offer to make everything "right", but when you have the repeat experience (right down to the second driver having to call for directions...we're literally in the easiest place to find near the mall...) it's enough to make you realize it's time to look elsewhere when it comes to pizza choices. read more

NY Style Pizza. Don't waste your money. For the first time, as a naive New Yorker we tried their Limited addition NY style pizza. It was not even close. Don't waste your money. It is just an original PJ pizza with a slightly thicker crust. True NY pizza is a thinner crust with a crisp bottoms and gooey top meant to be eat folded in half. I should have known better to NOT order it. Extremely disappointed. Husband had gotten out of the hospital on Thursday and Friday he was craving a pizza. Well the closest one to us is Papa John's in Palm Harbor at the East Lake location. We ordered a medium pizza with tomatoes, mushrooms and sausage. We were charged $17.00+ and that was with AARP discount. We gave the young man a $4.00 tip when it arrived. Needless to say it was the worse pizza we have ever eaten. We only ate 1/2 a slice each. It was cold, not much sauce, tomatoes were awful and sausage was ice cold and the cardboard was like cardboard. I do not order pizza too often, but when I do, its always Papa Johns. I placed an online order from this store a few weeks ago for a large pizza with several toppings. The pizza arrived a short time later, was hot and delicious, but was a small for the same price as the large. I am not sure what happened between my ordering and it being sent to the store, but I was not happy. I sent my concerns to the store and within 24 hours, I received a call from the store manager. I was told that he would take care of my next order. I called the store and ordered another pizza, the same as before. Once again, it came to our home in no time, and was hot and delicious.
