I realize this McDonalds is in a small town, but this can not be an excuse for poor service and food quality. We ordered regular menu items at the drive thru today. there was one car ahead of us, and they were told to move forward to wait in the parking lot for their food. we were also told to pull forward and wait in the parking lot. the car behind us was told the same thing, which created a backup iso no one could pull forward or backwards. we waited 20 minutes for regular food items. unacceptable wait time. when we got home, the Big Mac patty was partially out of the box. not cool McDonalds. read more

Expect to wait ten minutes. They have a timer where they need people out of the drive thru in less than (however time ), 2 min I think. I believe they compete with other McDonald's and the timers. So, you order and they tell you to park and I've waiting 2-7 min Multiple times. I suggest staying at the window and not parking anymore. Bad customer service when they put the "competition timer" before the customers. Once you park, they can take there sweet time because you're not on a timer anymore. read more

30% of the time, they get my order right. Drive thru one time asked me to pull forward to parking spot so they could make a regular menu item and forgot/lost my order. Waited 20 minutes before I had to walk in and was offered a free apple pie. Very bad employee training and management at this location. After writing a negative review for the consistently poor service at the Main St Starbucks, I felt I should write a positive one for this McDonald's, where I've been going instead for my morning coffee and breakfast when I'm running late. I go about one-three times a week, and the employees--usually the same but not always--are polite and professional. A couple of them are actually very friendly and welcoming. My order is always correct. Most importantly, even when there are cars in front of me, I know I can always get in and out in less than five-six minutes--awesome! Food is like any other mcdonalds, service is not slow but not fast. Sanitation is better than other places. The high school near this place loves this mcdonalds. Some people might not like the students crowding the area and loitering, but what can you do? I actually know the owner and he is very earnest and works hard with this mcdonalds. McDonalds isn't my favorite place, and Phelan is certainly not my favorite place. In Phelan, McDonalds is really the only game in town. The Burger King, like most of them, is just plain nasty. I wouldn't feed their food to a dog, and I'm a cat person! The other fast food joints aren't much to talk about either. Like I said, this McDonalds is the only game in town, and I'm sure they know this. As such, they can do what they want and still get customers...unless said customers want to schlepp 15 miles away to the next not-horrible place. Yet they still do business as if there's competition. The staff is friendly, the food is properly cooked, and get this...special orders are done properly!!! That's right, if, like me, you dislike pickles, you can order your food pickleless, grab your food, stuff the burger in your gullet, and not worry that you'll get a mouthful of nasty, disgusting, picklely grossness. This is an amazing feat...apparently...as I have rarely had much luck in this area of food ordering. They do charge extra for non-nugget accompanied nugget sauce, and this never pleases me, however knowing the demographics here, I can easily see why. Worst customer service I've EVER had! Manager has no business being in charge! Order was wrong and I stood at the counter for 10 mins holding it without being acknowledged in the meantime another customer was complaining to the manager about an employee. I listened while that employee cursed the customer and McDonald's as a job. I finally got the manager to speak to me and before I could get two words out she grabbed the burger from me and walked away. I said "I wasn't finished talking" and she burst into tears and walked away. My new route takes me through your town. I opted for a coffee (drive-thru/5:45 AM) while my friend visited Stater Bros. We then ordered a meal w/coffee (drive-thru). I drove off forgetting her coffee. I entered the lobby to retrieve her coffee, taking my cup with me to see if I could get a refill (only because I forgot her coffee). The manager stuck to the "letter of the law" and refused to give me a refill. [I wonder if she sticks to the "letter of the law" when driving?] She chose to "do her job" and I have now chosen to "do mine" by no longer stopping at this McDonalds, opting for Starbux down the road. Worse service I have experienced! We went through the drive thru, had to repeat our order 3 times. When we picked up our food, team member was no Angel, she was the most rude, disrespectful person I have ever met. Wow six months ago I gave five stars because when I went to drive through to get coffee before work Cassie took my order cheerfully and greeted me warmly with a bright smile. The last few months have been quite different but this morning was the worst. What I got was terse, snarky, and rude when she apparently didn't hear something I said. We showed up at 10:15 am to order breakfast items (they only have breakfast items advertised), and when we finished placing our order they tell decided to tell us that they ran out of McGriddles. They didn't offer to make more because they were going to be transitioning to their lunch menu. If they advertised breakfast until a certain time, they should have served breakfast until that advertised time. This McDonald's is the worst. We only go there to get happy meals for the kid because he gets excited about them, but normally it's a mistake if we go to this one. They run out of boxes and you get a paper bag, which is not exciting to a little one. Every time I go here it's problems after problems and the wait time is ridiculous. This last time really pissed me off I order at 1:53 finally got my entire order at 2:35 that's just insane my kids had frozen food by the time we got everything we ordered. And when I ask the so called manager Joshua is it normal to be waiting 40 minutes for an order he very rudely yells at me asking what I'm talking about, I kindly explain how I been there 40 minutes already and my kids food is frozen already while I'm still waiting on the rest of my order he again yells rudely what are you waiting on just drinks I say yes but they are finally making them, he again yells then what's the problem and throws the receipt back at me and walks away. This is probably got to be one of the worst McDonald's I have ever eaten at. I'm from South Orange county so I'm not used to experiencing this at a national food chain. In the drive-through I clearly ordered two sausage McMuffin's with egg only to be asked by the drive up window lady can you repeat your order. When I got to the window she said three breakfast samplers? I said no, two sausage McMuffin's with egg. Then she asked me if I ordered the Oreo Mc flurry. I somewhat aggressively said no, I said two sausage McMuffin's with egg! Then a random employee stepped in and said I have to apologize we're training her. I was thinking for the love of God if you can't understand two sausage McMuffin's with egg then perhaps you should seek employment that doesn't require speaking. The next time I went I decided not to risk the drive-through so I walked in because I had to check my emails on my computer so I figured I would use their Internet. Their Internet is worthless and I couldn't even get on to one of my email accounts due to security issues. After standing at the register and feeling invisible for 3 or 4 minutes because no one came to help me I finally was able to order my food. Most of the girls I see there appear to be on meth or some other type of drug because they're all over the place. Another employee was dropped off when I was there and I glanced at her work outfit which was covered in thousands of white dog hairs. This is not sanitary nor is it appropriate for an employee to show up at a public place to eat like this. This is really sad because I have been to over 50 Macdonald's throughout the US and none of them has been as bad as this one. You wrote a review for McDonald's 2 days ago 5/1/2018 I gave this location a two star because the facility was clean and seemingly orderly, however, this particular McDonald's loses three stars due to service. I don't make a habit of posting negative reviews because most times they can be riddled with emotions. I waited through the day to see if I still felt unhappy about my experience. Obviously, McDonald's is not going to be the high quality ambiance one might expect from a five star restaurant, I get that. On the other hand, I don't believe a customer should be made to feel uncomfortable while ordering her brunch over the counter. I have been to this location before and never felt so emotionally drained. While waiting to get the attention of the girl behind the counter I was made to wait for several minutes for her to stop complaining about one of the cooks in the back. For what seemed like overkill, she spewed one derogatory spite after another to the redhead cashier before even looking at me to take my order. She was so loud, I don't doubt, the employee she was braying about could hear her as well. When she finally took my order I was embarrassed for her, the employee and the other cashier. Believing she was finally done venting in her puerile manner, she devolved her sour attitude onto me. I could not have been more wrong. After she treated me like I was also her problem, I felt seconds from leaving without paying, and could not have felt more disgusted with my service. Later on, I asked the redhead cashier if I could speak to the manager. To my dismay, she proudly announced, "Amy IS the manager." I have had six hours to cool off and reconsider my review...however, it still stands. High school bullying obviously lives on in this manager's career as well. I've lived in Phelan since before the McDonald's was built. It's nice to have them here but they do screw up orders so often in the drive thru i.e. leaving out food items, no napkins or ketchup even when I've asked for it. Yes, you have to check your order but it's sad we have to check up to make sure the employees are doing their job correctly. When they leave out food items and not notice until you are home, you have to call but they seem very suspicious and you had better have your receipt when you go back to get your forgotten item. read more

Drive thru is much faster than other mc donalds even with a full line of cars, staff rarely gets orders wrong and the majority of staff are always smiling and friendly.
