Always a good spot to let the kid run her energy out. They redid the playground and the whole restaurant. Everytime i have came in the staff has been extremely friendly and the food is fresh. Especially the french fries. I love using the McDonalds app to save money on what i order. I usually use the French fry coupon which lets you get a large fry for $1.00. Yes thats right you can drop the price of a $4.00 large fry to $1.00 by using the McDonalds app. It makes the order overall cheaper and more affordable. My daughter absolutely loves their new play ground and it is all cage so you can actually see where your kid is on the levels. Love the new order station. Not too good. Wanted the double cheeseburger meal but wound up with the regular cheeseburger meal for almost $10. The burgers were not hot and were small and the cheese was sort of coagulated on to the meat. Really, can't they just make the burger a little juicy. The fries were medium temperature and were somewhat edible. Also, "come on man". Fix the soda machine on the right! The refrigeration is out on the right bank of dispensers so no ice and the beverages are not chilled. Put an out of order sign on it already. If you've been to one McDonald's, you've been to them all. This McDonald's is always my pit stop to get some food before we head up to the mountains for snowboarding. It was one of the few remaining McDonald's with a play area for kids. Recently made a stop here on the way to South Lake Tahoe. It's been 3 years since I've visited this location and for good reason too. Now there are homeless camped out by the front door, the drive though is even slower. It's so bad that drive though cars are blocking parked cars. I had to try and get the drive though guy attention to take my order as cars continue to pile up. This place is a disorganized mess. It took 10 minutes to get to the order speaker, after i finally got my order placed I was able to move up and You can hear the guy behind me ordering and the drive though guy keeps messing up and you can hear the customer getting agitated. It took me over 30 minutes from the time I arrived to even get to the pay window, and another 10 just to get to the order pickup where the lady threw the bag of food at me. We were all driving up to Genoa NV yesterday, got an "early" 9 AM start, and had a full tank of gas. I was hoping to drive straight through and make it over the Kingsbury Grade in record time. However at Placerville, the Kid announced he was "starving", Gayle wanted some coffee and a break, and the hounds needed be walked so they could "do their business". We parked in a lot that provided a short walk to McDonalds, Starbucks, or Taco Bell. Micky D's provided the restrooms and my Son's first choice for Lunch. However, the place was packed (both inside and out) and there was only one person at the Counter trying her best to provide service. My review is based on the WIFI and ambiance rather than food (afterall, it's McDonald's, so generally I assume food and service is standard). My husband and I had to come in here because we are temporarily without internet at home. The WIFI here is faster than at other public WIFI spots, which was a big help to us. The other reason I give it 5 stars is because the whole time we've been here (several hours), they have played classical music over the speakers. This is such a nice relief from the loud music at most public places. In fact, I don't think I can remember the last time I went to a fast food place or coffee shop with classical music. It made the environment much more pleasant for getting work done! Also, the dining area is quite large, so there is plenty of room for customers to spread out and not disturb each other. I definitely recommend this location and I hope they will keep the classic music! read more

Went to the restroom where I met a friendly fly, the I headed to buy myself a drink and everything was fine. Until I noticed that friendly fly had plenty of more friends inside the dining area. If you look up you could see tons and tons of flies, our chaperone with our group had time to spare to sit and count them and he counted 70flies. Disgusted. Went to this location after a camping trip and a little bummed out that they do not have a changing table in either men's or women's restrooms. what happened to this McDonald's. We would always stop here before goin up to Tahoe. The service is so terrible now. We went up in Feb. for presidents weekend and I swear I wanted to slap some of the workers up in there. Especially the lazy manager that was doin nothing but standing there and watching her staff fumble orders and getting flustered. Anyways I placed my order and it came out to like 23 dollars and I handed over my credit card to pay cashier and she said that they cannot accept charges on credit card over 20 dollars. WTH! Okay whatever So I handed her my card and a 10 dollar bill. She gave me this strange look like "what am I supposed to do with this?" The girl couldn't figure out how to charge 20 dollars on card and use the cash to pay the rest. She couldn't even figure out my change. Take about product of their environment. So that was problem number 1. Second problem I finally got my order and we were missing a burger. Mind you our table is right next to the register. So I go back and tell the manager we are missing an item from our order. And then she has the nerve to tell me "Are you sure you ordered it?" Well if she had bothered to look at my receipt she would see that "YES!" I did order it and its on the receipt as proof. Then she gave me this annoyed look and said "Here is your burger I know you have been waiting even thou it wasn't order!" I'm not a fan of Factory Food - so the only way I would give McDonald's a good review would be if it decided to declare bankruptcy. If you're looking for a hamburger, just about ANY local restaurant makes a better one - Koala's, Mel's, Diamond Springs Hotel, to name a few. Even the other gutbucket chains around here (like Jack-in-the-Box and Carl's Jr.) do a marginally better job of it. This was a desperate pit stop for a bathroom, a cup of Joe, some microwaved egg/sausage/cheese sandwiched between two fluffy syrup-infused mini pancakes and the greatest hash brown from a fast food restaurant. It was just what I needed to get me from south Lake Tahoe back to the Bay Area. The food was pretty standard, however the coffee was the worst tasting coffee ever! It was too acidic and tasted a little sour. Cream and sugar did not hide the taste at all. I definitely would walk across the street to Starbucks for coffee next time instead of making it a meal. Its all the other things that make the difference. This location is the usually stop point in the mornings when we are heading up to Sierra for some boarding! They have a drive thru and plenty of parking so major plus! This location is super clean (bathrooms included!) and has a playground and outside seating! A big plus is that they include the caloric content in easy sight on the menu's and have 2 Sausage & Egg McMuffin's for $3! (Score one for the fat boys!) Oh and word to the wise...when leaving to get back onto Hwy 50, make sure to come to a complete stop at the stop signs (No California rolls her either man!) because they always have cops creeping in the cuts! read more
