The service at this McDonalds has become so much slower since the remodel. Today ordered a simple $5 Value meal. It actually took a full 10 minutes to receive my food. I showed the woman behind the counter the time ordered on my receipt and the actual time but she tried to say differently until she looked at their clock. After voicing my displeasure of length of time, I proceeded out to my work truck and found they shorted the quantity of nuggets in the box, 3 instead of 4. After returning inside to show them, the one guy said something to the others while showing the mishap and then started laughing. When they came back with new nuggets I requested fresh food because I witnessed my food being made earlier but the delay for receiving it was because they ran out of fries. Instead of giving the fries to the customer there waiting, they fulfilled an order for DoorDash with the last fries. Sadly that DD order then sat on a shelf waiting for the driver to arrive. The fresh food request by me because of the long delay was not filled. I actually walked out with no food because of the horrible mismanagement at this location. I have reported this to McDonalds Corporate. I highly doubt anything will come out of it, but this location has lost my and my wife's business. I will make sure to inform my friends of the horrible business practices here as well. The food is awful. The meat patties on my Big Mac were dry, cold and were clearly pre made. The fries were over salted, chewy and not crispy. This restaurant in a very convenient location. You may find anything from a dollar store to a post office. It's semi clean and lacks spacious parking. In the morning the parking lot can get very hectic/packed because of the set up of all the stores jammed next to each other. The staff lacks welcome kind of attitude. OK, so it's McDonald's and therefore not life-changing, but I had a decent time here. Because of the (closed) supermarket nearby, there is tons of parking within walking distance, but only a handful of spots are actually right next to the restaurant. I got a McMuffin with sausage, egg, and cheese, and it was OK. The cheese wasn't really melted, but it was warm and my standards for McDonald's are pretty low, so I was satisfied. It's funny that I've been to Plainsboro before but never once checked out this shopping center. There's a small McDonald's in one of the rows of stores here. The issue here is this McDonald's shares the parking area with a lot of other stores and in the daytime, it was actually difficult to find a parking spot here. Standalone McDonald's locations do not have that problem. That aside, I actually found this McDonald's to be tidy and clean. The employees are polite and seem to do their jobs well. The food is about what one would expect from a fast food place. There are numerous signs about drinks being limited to one refill and your stay in the dining area being limited to 30 minutes. Just so people know, this is New Jersey and New Jerseyans are fond of putting up signs that everyone ignores. So unless anyone tells you otherwise, don't worry about those too much. read more

Bad experience. They charged my credit card for my order and also the customer behind me. Pointed this out and got big shrug. Asked for manager and he said I had to work this out with credit card company. Basically blew me off. I kept bitching and eventually they gave me cash for the overcharge. This McDonald's is very below average for McDonald's. It is always dirty and appears to be understaffed. Every time I've come in here it's been empty yet my food takes way to long to be made. Of the 4 times I've been in there the sweet tea is always either a day old or empty. Last time one of the employe tried pouring the old unsweetened in my cup and started opening sugar packets to power in it. To say it was disgusting is an understatement. This is my favorite McDonald's because it is so quiet and calm. It's hidden away in a shopping strip.. There isn't a huge golden arch outside or kids play area. Service is always friendly and quick. I must say that when I'm on a budget and need a quick breakfast to feed two hungry teenagers, this is the place to go. I always take advantage of the coupons that get sent my way, often using the "buy one, get one free" coupon. Their steak, egg and cheese mcmuffin reminds me of a Philly cheese steak breakfast style. After all, you can never go wrong with onions, meat and cheese. They also have the 2 for $4 fish fillet sandwiches which is another good deal. But in terms of McDonalds in the area, this one is the best. They get your orders right, they will replace your fries with a smile if they give you cold ones, the space is very clean, and the employees are well-mannered. This location is the worst McDonald's I have ever went! The staff was not friendly at all. I did my order on the App, and for some reason, it didn't go through (I figured out later that I just needed two more clicks to complete the order). The staff was so impatient and RUDE and didn't even want to help. He should of spent two more seconds to help to see what went wrong on the app. He made me feel very bad and I felt like I was dumb and didn't know how to do an online order. He ruined my evening. Used to love this place. Their new staff and managers are very unfriendly, and no longer care at all about the customers. I used to love the hispanic manger that was always in, but now this new guy is a d bag and service is slow. Order was wrong, couldn't find my receipt so they did not believe me or look up the order. Out of the surrounding McDonald's in the area this is the worst. There used to be this bilingual manager there that was personable and kept staff running 100%. I can guess he's gone because the service is slow. You go in there at 7 am and it takes them 10 minutes to make one sandwich.
