This diner was always overall pretty decent. It had a good atmosphere and fantastic selection of food to choose from on the menu. There is all your usual stuff that you'd expect to find at any diner. From your sandwiches, omelettes, crepes, typical deserts such as cake and pie, to just about anything else you'd expect to find on a menu for a diner. The service was overall fine but nothing super special but it still is a decent diner to go to for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is better to go around dinner time because then they give you complimentary garlic knots which are delicious. And the televisions they have around the diner are also nice to watch too so you don't feel bored. The only major criticisms I have is that there are times when there are tables that are still very dirty rather its from dirty dishes or too much dust lying around the diner. Another criticism is that the deserts maybe dry from sitting in the fridge too long which is disappointing because they look delicious. The final criticism is that it can be noisy too inside when its always busy. But that is expected as that happens anywhere. In the end, its a solid diner to go to. But it's not the best diner out there as there are plenty other better options for food and to hang out. read more

Humongous portions remain but the food prep seemed a bit rushed and not entirely delicious -- but I suspect that's to be expected on a very busy after church "brunch crowd." My chicken salad club was tasty but the French onion soup was light on the cheese and so hot it had a post-Chernoble glow inspiring screams from the roof of my mouth. My bad. Town Diner continues to offer a consistent high quality diner experience. I noticed there are some mixed reviews. However, every experience I have had here has been great. The breakfast menu with omelettes, pancakes and Benedict's is always a good option. The regular menu is quite extensive, a sign of a true diner. Yet, it offers some very creative options instead of the same old tired and boring diner fare. After coming here for years and especially during Covid, I'm upping my rating to 5 star. The Town Diner is truly a 5-star diner and our local go-to diner. This is the second time I ordered the Chicken Gyro, which was accompanied by a Greek Salad. It was awesome (same as the 1st time) and so generously filled with chicken. Some of my favorites at the Diner are the Native Benedict and the Mediterranean Frittata. Oh, and the fries here are the best around! In the past, I've also ordered Pancakes, Philly Cheesesteak Turkey Burger and the Chicken Isabella. The food generally delivers a solid diner experience. The only item, I have been underwhelmed by has been the Incredible Eggplant sandwich, outside of that everything has been really good. The diner interior is new and modern with comfortable booths in patriotic colors of red, white and blue. Our usual diner in Bordentown is The Wisdom Diner. We came with a party of 9 and the wait would be too long due to time constraints. We decided to go to The Town & Country Diner further north. We went for breakfast. Several omelets were ordered and the ingredients were skimpy and one omelet was undercooked. The home fries tasted horrible and were inedible. The coffee was cold. I could tell by the look on my fellow diners that they were not enjoying the breakfast either. The only redeeming thing was that the wait staff was efficient. It is now obvious why the Wisdom Diner was packed to capacity with a wait time to be seated and Town & Country was mostly empty. Stay away. read more

I've been going for years always liked food and service. I ordered a turkey dinner it came with mashed potatoes and corn. I thought the price was a little high at 21.00 but after I received my food everything was sautéed in garlic. if it were stated on the menu I would have ordered something different. they removed the potatoes and vegetables and I ate the turkey. however when we paid it was still 21.00. no apologies nothing but full price for turkey on a plate. We stopped by at this diner while on our way back from a road trip. It caught our eye, because it looks like an old school diner. It also has the old school diner feel once you are inside. It is on a pretty busy highway, and there is plenty of parking. The menu was as you would expect for a diner, and all of the prices were fair. The food itself was also very good. We have been coming to this place for the last seven years.. ever since we moved to the area. However lately the staff is so rude and unnattentive. When I walked in and said hi how are you to the woman seating people. She started at me and said nothing. Okay.. she seated us. The waitress came over got us our drinks and came back 10 min later for us to order. We ordered. She brought us our food( which was sub par by the way) and we never saw her again. Even though she was in our section bringing food out to other people, etc... she never once came by to ask us how our food was, if we wanted more drinks. Nothing. I was trying to get her attention to ask for some mayo but she never paid us any mind. The o ly other time she came by was to bring us our check and look annoyed that she had to work..... we also witnessed the same woman that seated us be super rude to a woman with special needs. She couldn't decide what booth to sit in... and was waiting for what looked like her mother/caregiver to walk in. We saw eye rolls etc.... I don't know what is going on with this place but they need to fix their staffs attitudes and lack of care for the patrons. Also the food was nasty. So disappointed. I recently went here for a late lunch with my wife and granddaughter. The place was not crowded maybe 3 tables of patrons. They sat all the tables next to each other as opposed to a little spread out. I didn't care to hear the other tables conversations which we did (very annoying) They seemed to have minimal staffing. The young lady who took us to our table I asked her if I could have a baby seat, she pointed to the corner and I had to get it myself. The food was underwhelming, in particular the chicken fingers for my granddaughter. They had ZERO taste, and the oddest shapes and texture I have ever seen. My wife had a burger, she said it was ok. My favorite place to be! I've been going here on and off for over ten years. I say on and off only due to the fact it's a bit of a drive for me, otherwise I would frequent here more often. Their breakfast is delicious, but what I want to focus on here is their lunch specials. They have a GREAT selection of lunch specials with decent prices. Their chicken Parmesan lunch special is a nice amount of food, comes with a soup, and is outstandingly delicious. This is my favorite place to order chicken parm - yes, even over fancy Italian restaurants. The sauce is great and the pasta is cooked al dente every time. Went here on a weeknight for a quick dinner. They weren't very crowded, but we quickly realized the patrons there had to be regulars from the conversations we overheard they were having with their servers so we were encouraged. Otherwise the place was rather quiet. We were seated and our server quickly took our drink order and gave us time to peruse the menu and specials. There was a lot to choose from, but time was short so we just decided on a patty melt and their Cowboy Burger (bacon, cheese and bbq sauce). Pickles and cole slaw are brought only by request, as per the menu. The burger came on a brioche bun and their fries are coated to be extra crispy on the outside The plates looked small for a diner, but we were both sufficiently full when we were done so the portion was enough and we thought our meals were tasty. We saw other meals come out of the kitchen and they looked delicious even though we didn't know what they were. Our server was nice enough, but did not come by to ask if we were happy with our order and took a little time before asking if we wanted drink refills. He was talking with the other servers near the register. This brought my overall rating down a notch. read more

Said we could not order their regular White meat turkey dinner on Thanksgiving. Told us there was white and dark meat on special for $26 or $27. My husband does not like dark meat. Soup ok. We could NOT eat mushy green bean casserole. I had a turkey WING w/hardly no meat on it and bits of white meat, no slices, over mushy stuffing. my husband had a leg and bits of white meat also. it was like someone scraped bottom of pan. lady near us told waiter she could not eat turkey and so they brought her Slices.We Won't return. Now under new ownership with a cool, vaguely Latin inspired lunch and dinner menu Town Diner is back. Outstanding service by a youthful and efficient crew Town not only slings some very decent breakfast staples but outstanding Paella with fat shrimp and the traditional saccorat. Liver and onions with a twist of citrus flavored sofrito over Spanish rice if desired. Perfectly grilled pork chops marinated in Mojo with sides of sweet potatoes and Maduros. They still cater to the early bird crowd and because of the reasonable prices, friendly and patient service Town can get quite busy but I'm happy they back and better than ever. I've been wanting to try this diner for a while. We decided to come here since we were in the neighborhood. We were immediately seated after checking in. The diner is very large, with tables spread all across the floor. Red-white-and-blue booths line the brown wooden walls of the restaurant while wooden tables sit in the center of it all. Windows adorn every wall and there are TVs playing in one section of the diner. Daughter ordered the Native Benedict which is avocado, 2 poached eggs and roasted pepper sauce over English muffin. She substituted home fries with grits. She said that the benedict entree was very small but the tastiness of the grits more than made up for it. Daughter loves her grits. LOL Hubs ordered the Spanish omelet which is creole sauce. The sauce has onions, mushrooms, peppers, celery and tomato base. He said that his entree is something he hasn't seen in a while. He thought that the sauce was reheated and mixed into the eggs, which he liked. It wasn't a large plate and he didn't have anything to bring home, which was another plus. He was happy with it. Lastly, I ordered butttermilk pancakes with strawberries and bananas. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and the bananas were infused into the pancakes. There was also a dollop of whipped cream on top. Again, the entree was small and I was able to finish it. Service was a little slow but friendly. Just an FYI, there is a credit card charge for those using credit cards. Just be careful and look over your bill. Will probably return when in the area to try other items on the menu. read more
