The food and the service were below McDonalds standards. I ordered the fish filet meal to learn they had no soda; I said I'd just have water. I didn't get any water, and the fish filet was bad enough that I returned it to get another. The manager made a comment about the bread being fresh but "ok" (like she couldn't see the state of the fish itself when I explained the issue) and then had them make another. Again, the bread was fine on the 2nd filet...but the fish was obviously fried earlier and reheated and put on fresh bread. It was hard and dry again. Very disappointing ... They were open unlike what the website said at 7:15pm and I was able to sit at a table and eat. Quiet and peaceful at this time of night on a Sunday and the staff was nice. The happy meal was a great deal for a 4 piece chicken nugget w double fries (you can opt out of apples and add extra fries) and my apple juice choice for $4.49 total with NO tax. I didn't know OR or at least Portland had no tax on food at the airport. Happy w that. The only thing I wished: the fries were cold even though the food came out very fast under 7 minutes. I mean it's a fast food airport place... what's not to be expected. However, it was super clean! They have 3 kiosks you can order at but you don't have to if it's not for you. They moved pretty quickly getting orders out but my complaint would be they filled drinks and had them sit behind the counter until your food was ready. Never open past 7pm regardless of airport activity though it says it's open till 9pm. Food is ok but it's just fast food so nothing crazy. The evening shift seems to be run by teenagers who don't possess mush customer service skills. Not sure if there even a manager present for evening shift. The self service kiosks have constant issues and the kids that work there don't seem to care if customers are having problems. All in all pretty hit and miss McDonald. If you are passing through PDX and have the time (and don't mind spending a bit more money) go to Henry's Tavern in the C Concourse. Great place, good food, awesome staff. read more

The gate for my flight home was just across the way, so I stopped here to pick up a quick lunch before catching my flight. It would appear that they had just recently installed the self-ordering kiosks, so none of the walk-up registers were working. Everyone had to use a kiosk to place their orders. They had an employee stationed there to help people use the kiosks. At first I used the mobile app to see if they had any good deals. I found none, so I got in line to use one of the kiosks. I would give zero stars, if given the option... We ordered 20 pc Chicken McNuggets and had a lot of time to kill before our flight. Thank goodness for that because what ensued was irritating, then just purely comical... When we first got our order, we counted that we had 17 nuggets. Nine in one box, eight in the other. STRIKE #1. After my brother brought it to the manager's attention, we proceeded to wait for another 10 minutes for them to fix the order. We didn't ask for a new batch, but they made one anyway. However, they proceeded to fulfill other nugget orders before ours. WTF. When we finally got our replacement order, my brother counted 10 in his box and started eating. I got NINE. OMG. They'd miscounted twice. AND half of the replacement nuggets they gave us weren't completely cooked. STRIKE #2. I preferred not to get salmonella poisoning, so I brought it back to a manager, who apologized and presumably went to the back to make some cooked nuggets. I watched her put them in he fryer, so at least I knew it was happening. While I'm standing there, another customer overheard my uncooked comments and I mentioned that she might want to check her order before downing it. She thanked me and we both waited for our food to come. Sweet, I've made a new friend in line... So, we're waiting... and waiting. And I'm not patient to begin with and now I'm waiting through 60 nuggets' worth of food prep. My new friend is now looking ticked off and she's about to leave without her food because it's been 20 minutes and she's going to miss her flight. You know, for a McDonalds, this did the trick. Because of the pandemic they are encouraging orders from two kiosks out front, which is handy. The staff seemed friendly, and our order was as expected. Prices were perhaps just a smidge more than a McD's in the suburbs, but per the PDX street pricing, I suspect on par with downtown Portland. read more

Now there are some things I really like at McDonald's and I rarely review our fast food stops. However, this one is an exception. We were at the Portland airport waiting for an early morning flight and McDonald's was just around the corner. So, we ordered two sausage mcmuffins to take with us. We received both wrapped in the normal little yellow tissue paper clearly marked "sausage". When we were ready to eat we discovered they weren't sausage at all. Instead a skinny sliced ham. Establishment: Plenty of shared seating with Subway, non-airpot-gouging prices (and actually some cool promotions like a $5 meal consisting of 2 triple cheeseburgers and fries.) Lots of space to put your luggage next to your table. Food: I ate a triple cheeseburger and paid for lettuce and tomato to be added. The meat is so darn soft, the bread is so fluffy and light, and the cheap American cheese hits the spot. I loved it. The fries are beautiful, fresh looking, and flavorful.
