This is the Stumptown inside the Portland Airport. As a usual airport place it was pretty busy on a Monday morning, but service was pretty fast and very friendly. It is an airport ambiance but Portland has such a relax vibe and everything seems to run smoothly. They do offer a few choices of bagels and pastries, but we didn't try the food. We only had a Cortado and a Latte. Overall pretty good coffee place. The Cortado was really good bean quality. read more

Kudos to them being open super early. I had a flight at 5:10a which meant boarding at 4:40a which means there are not many options for something to eat. As I walked to the far end of the E terminal, I think I passed an open Starbucks with a long line and that was it. The line was pretty short when I got here, but filled up quickly and really put a strain on the small team working. I ordered and everything bagel which was heated up by the cashier (she was heating all of the pastries). The barrista made the iced mocha and the large wasn't very large I guess. It was good and had 4 shots according the description. It was good and I went with iced I was overheated from walking from the rental car center to the end of E terminal. That's a haul! It was around $8, not worth that much but it is the airport. The croissant was awful, dry and stuck in my throat when I took a bite. We had a fantastic experience this morning at Stumptown Coffee Roasters. From the moment we walked in, the service stood out as genuinely kind and accommodating. Our boys wanted milk with their breakfast, and the staff went out of their way to make sure they were taken care of--then surprised us by not even charging for the milks and adding a blueberry muffin on the house. That level of thoughtfulness really made an impression. On top of the hospitality, the coffee itself absolutely delivered. I had an iced latte, LaRue ordered an Americano, and Emma went with a mocha--each one was excellent, smooth, and clearly crafted with care. This was our first time trying Stumptown, but it definitely won't be our last. Great coffee is one thing, but pairing it with standout service like this makes it memorable. As much as I love the coffee. The one in the airport probably should change their staff up from being rude young girls. When you ask for something not hot, it should come not hot instead of blaming the milk or the chocolate. I fly in often to Portland. I came in early morning and spotted this cafe. It's right on the corner inside the airport. It has a rustic and contemporary vibe to it. It was busy, with several people in line and multiple baristas. I took a look at their menu, which was on the wall. Just a basic one, with no specials or seasonal drinks. I got in line and before long, it was my turn. I asked the barista if she had any recommendations. She said she didn't drink coffee. I was confused and told her if she could ask her coworkers. She asked and then said their drip coffee was popular. I got that. My drink was done quick, a regular cup of coffee. I could taste how strong it was. I added oat milk and sugar to my liking. I have been to Stumptown within Portland but this is the first time I've been to the one at the PDX airport. Early in the morning I needed some caffeine and at 5am this is one of the few places that were open in the Delta area. We stopped in for some coffees to go as no seating at this location: Americano medium and large were both 4.25 whereas the drip medium was 4.25 for medium and 4.75 for large....given girl math I went with the Americano. Unfortunately I went with the drip as the Americano was too watery. If I was to stop in again, I would get the drip to get the bold coffee flavors. I've walked past Stumptown Coffee Roasters a long time ago but never stopped by to check them out until just recently. Their location is inside Portland International Airport in the Terminal D Gates Concourse. I'm so glad that I got a chance to see how their coffee tastes and see what else they have to offer. Came here right before a flight and although there was no line, it was easy to make a decision on what to order. I ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte, it is very flavorful rich in espresso and I particularly like this a lot better than another famous coffee brand. The space is small, with no area or seating to enjoy your food and beverages, so definitely not a place for you to hang out for a very long time. But this is a great option for a caffeinated drink before or after a long flight in and out of PDX. read more

Most of the airport coffee shops don't receive very good ratings and this one is no exception but I wanted to try a local spot instead of Starbucks literally right next to my gate. This is a further walk down Terminal E...., but I think they're just as good as anyone else. I asked about their latte flavors but they only had a few and were very common ones. I ended up choosing an iced mocha instead which was ok. The star of the show here is maybe their pastries. I chose a large salted chocolate chip cookie which ended up being very soft, chewy and delicious. The customer in line in front of me had a Starbucks cup in his hand but was in line only for their pastries. So he had also walked a little further to come here for their pastries too. How do you give zero stars? Those of you are looking to try a Portland regional treat, and are near the airport Stumptown,, do yourself a favor and walk on by. The two attendants at the Stumptown on E concourse are horrible and reflect poorly on the franchise. First, the front desk attendant explained the macchiato wrong and then charged me extra for the foam that the barista didn't provide. When I complained, the barista tried to explain their macchiato's don't come with dairy. Then when I asked them to add the dairy, the barista used cold milk and it made the drink cold. I asked for them to make it right and just give me a cup of coffee and they charged me for the coffee. When I complained, they said I should go to Starbucks and wouldn't do anything about it. To top it off...the coffee was not even good. Save yourself the trouble. Follow their advice and just go to Starbucks. read more

Rather strange name for a coffee place*, but if I really think about it, Starbucks was odd until it became so commercialized that we are used to it now. I've been a Stumptown fan even before becoming a Portland resident. It was served at several spots when I lived in LA. It's nice that local businesses like Stumptown are represented at PDX so your options aren't limited to Starbucks. The double shot of Espresso (4 stars) was just what I needed for a caffeine kick to stay awake until my late night flight. I liked the flavor as is without the addition of milk of sugar. The service (4 stars) was great. The barista quickly prepared my drink. I also bought the Hair Bender coffee beans for my brother. It included citrus and chocolate notes, and he liked it. The staff is super kind but the drinks are just so bad. :( The matcha tastes like plain milk and the coffee is super acidic, which is crazy considering the price. I would make a stop further up in the terminal if you are flying out of the D gates! read more

Good coffee for an airport cafe. Reasonably quick service. Decent menu selection. There's not really anywhere for you to sit once you have your order, though. The few tables are usually already occupied, and it's very busy since it's just past security. They always seem to be out of the Nitro Cold Brew, but never seem to take it off of their menu.
