I've mobile ordered in advance and walked 2 miles at 10:30pm just to arrive and find out the doors were locked with lots of teens inside, my order was randomly canceled on the app by the workers, and they were closing an hour before they were supposed to yet still serving people inside after canceling my order right as I pulled up after my 2 mile walk. 2. I recently doordashed 2 mcflurrys and paid extra for the larger sizes and to have both oreo and m&m toppings. Of course both were filled not even 1/4 full and only had oreo. Waste of 20$ spent on 2 bites. They need to train their staff to do things correctly because I don't think they have ever messed up my or my familys orders every time we have gotten food from here. read more

An incredibly slow operation. I stood a good 20 minutes in the drive through without moving. Finally swerved out of the lane and went on my way. Not worth my time. You know your volume at different times and the typical orders. You should anticipate that and get ahead of it. Terrrible experience 4/2 trying to pickup and get meal ordered thru McDonalds app from San Francisco for pick up at counter in Reston Va. Lunch treat for my 87yr old Mom to have with her friend at home. Mom had screenshot of the order with order number and proof of payment. She was told no order even after showing the screenshot of the order. Called me and I FaceTimed with the team member who after telling me the same thing came back and said processing order. He gets the manager to assist since he was a newbie only 5 days in. I speak with manager who says the same thing, but also says food is being prepared but that I had to pay because it's not showing up on his end that it was paid. Showed him and had him read the screenshot with proof of payment and kept insisting it wasn't his problem and that I should contact corporate. One point just handed the phone back and walked away. Asked for name and just gave me first name and had to be asked for full name. Asked for corporate number and no surprise found out he gave me grub hub number (found out after 20min with them on phone). Tried to pay but was told I had to physically be there (he knew I was calling from CA). Resorted to have my mom pay only to find out that the register showed it was already PAID! The manager sees and hears this and just walks away - no apologies, no accountability, no nothing. She is a regular there. I have ordered thru app for delivery on occasions, I frequent with my mom when visiting and never ever have we experienced such poor customer service as this. As most McDonalds in the area ratings are low. From service, to food. It seems no one cares. Not sure if staff is overworked, under trained or management or business owners just doesn't care. From sandwiches missing meat, to entirely missing sandwiches, soda machine not being calibrated ( you basically get colored water), staff doesn't have basic customer service skills. Below average...but repairable. Understanding Covid has played a big role in hiring quality employees, this review takes that into account. Also, noting the positives, this location is clean, bright and spacious. However, whoever runs this branch though needs to take action on customer service and onboarding; and the franchise-heads need to also take note for this on other locations, too. Employees should be able to speak/understand English. Being bilingual is a wonderful thing but when basic English cannot be comprehended - especially at the front register where it's the most important for the order - all the dominos fall out of place. I had ordered a sausage egg McMuffin with no sausage but extra egg as is. I've made this exact order over a dozen times at different locations. I also ordered a coffee as well. I verified the order upon paying and although the lady at the front confirmed it, the order was incorrect; it had only one egg instead of two and that too was folded. As I did not have any salt, pepper, sugar, or creamer for my meal, I asked for them. However, that too was an issue; I was given 15 salt packets with the 1 pepper packet, and 1 sugar packet with three creamers. Having already gone to the front twice now, I felt as if I was being the problem customer, so I just acknowledged that this place isn't going to get it right and stuck with it. Suggestions: Management needs to hire better English speaking people at the front-register and or move existing employees who speak better English to the front register; this will help the order be correct from the get-go. They must have a better teaching/onboarding process to employees and or reiterate the basic phrases/questions/logistics to learn, such as asking "would you like sugar, salt, etc. with that. How many?", etc. Basic protocols should be taught and or reiterated. It seems the McDonald's franchise is getting a bit complacent; they know they dominate the market share and demand is there, so it seems that they are losing their care and consistency. read more

Not sure if it's because I mobile order and use the deals, but I consistently keep getting skimped on fries every time. They never fill the containers to the top. Every time I order a large it ends up looking like the used the scoop for a medium and medium looks like a small. Other than that it's a McDonalds, what do you really expect EDIT: forgot to mention, they "never recieved" my mobile order even though it went to that exact location, and manager refused to give me a refund. I try to steer away from writing reviews of fast food places because I get that it's likely to always be hit or miss but the McDonald's location in Reston is consistently the most whack McDonald's I've ever been to in my life. I am now convinced it's their store's goal to get every single order wrong in some way. Latest experience - ordered DoorDash for my kids and I, as we were preparing to watch the NFC championship game. Our orders were pretty basic. Two kids meals, one with 6-piece nuggets and one with a cheeseburger, a filet o fish meal and an order of 10 nuggets. Both happy meals came with no entree - just fries and apples and all nugget sauces were missing. We've been to this location multiple times for dine-in and mobile pick up and literally every single time (I promise I'm not exaggerating) at least one or more things were wrong or missing for our orders. I'm finally at my wits end with this location and have officially given up. It makes me pretty sad because Filet O Fish sandwiches are truly my fast food guilty pleasure. read more

I don't know where to start.. let'd me just say we had hungry kids and adults, I decided to past by this McDonald on the way to the fair with my grandchildren and came across this McDonald and let me tell you one of the worst experiences of my entire life!!! I waited till both sandwiched were done, when I got them I decided let me just double check and make sure and Can you believe that they literally threw all the condiments on my sandwich it looked like they dropped it in the floor and served it to me. Here I go again "Excuse me sir" he responds "WHAT NOW?" I opened my sand which and said "THIS WAS SO UNCALLED FOR WHY WOULD THEIR STAFF DO OPOSITE OF WHAT I ORDERED? This particular McDonald's is moderately busy this time of day. For lunch, I have had the hot cakes and sausage platter with a medium sized Orange juice and it sure tasted very good By The Way. 8/23/19 After using the restroom (which did not stink by the way) I took a look around McDonald's. My new years resolution for 2019 is now McDonald's food or drink except water or ice. I have so far kept this promise so far. Looking around I saw the staff had new uniforms, the building looked updated and the some new food options were added. Great service in the morning! Its such a cheerful and positive vibe from the crew when we get breakfast and they get everything right. At night? We've gone 4 times to get dinner there after a hard day's work and every single time they get our order so embarrassingly WRONG. We don't do modifications or anything like that, we're simple people so it's wild how often this happens just at night. Last night was the funniest to me though. We clearly ordered 2 spicy chicken deluxes and they gave us 2 spicy mchickens. Amazing. Update: Never mind! Just ordered 2 breakfast McGriddles and they gave us one with a McMuffin. We originally placed a large order for delivery which was received very quickly to our pleasant surprise! Unfortunately, we opened the bags to discover that none of the sauces we ordered were in there :( My friend Carrie called (and we were like no way is this going to do anything, what a waste of time)... then were hit with more surprises! Carrie mentioned that she really felt heard by the McDonald's employee after explaining that we sadly had 40 nuggets and no sauces :/. The lovely lady she spoke with sent a young gentleman out to deliver us our sauces (and even added in a free apple pie!) free of charge! The review is only for their breakfast biscuit and iced coffee. Otherwise I don't think anyone should ever eat here EVER! That being said I have to admit that I love their breakfast biscuit. It's light and buttery and goes great with the egg and cheese on the inside (no ham or bacon). It's my go to for a quick and pretty cheap breakfast. As far as the iced coffee is concerned it was my 1st time trying it and I was pleasantly surprised. I got the caramel iced coffee and I'd have to admit that it is better then the iced coffee you get at Starbucks. Not as good as Dunkin' Donuts though. read more

I went to this McDonalds after a long practice. I ordered a coke and started drinking it. I looked in the drink to find a wad of plastic resembling a plastic ziplock baggie. I was disgusted and repulsed. I almost threw up on the spot. My evening was ruined. I showed the employees my coke and went to get a new one and the employees were laughing at it behind the counter. This is an excellent McDonald's. They just gave me a free cup to have soda, even though I wanted to pay for it (I wanted to sit here and do some work until they close down the food at Midnight, buy some cheeseburgers at 11:59, and take them home via uber for a late dinner at 1 AM, but I thought that I would need to buy something in order to sit here from 11:20 PM to 12:00 Midnight; nope, that was not necessary, they are just nice that way). I was here last night, and they got my order 100% correct. They could use some croutons for their salads, but outside of that, they are great. They are open more late-at-night than almost every other place in Reston, and everything tastes good. It is a real service for those of us who stay up late. A great McDonald's. read more

Since the place has reopened the quality of food has gone down. It is very convenient but very disappointing. The food going through the drive through three times ( I kept hoping it was a bad day the two times before) has been cold. Not warm but cold. The last time I even asked at the pick up window if everything was hot and was given a flippant yes. Well it was not. The cheese on the hamburger was cold, not even gently warm. Ironic location on Roger Bacon Drive. 50/50 odds of actually getting ketchup when you ask for it, and an occasional thick accent, but otherwise decent customer service. I've gotten cold fries at least twice, but my expectations from a Mickeys are low to begin with. During peak times they have people walking through the drive thru line to speed up the ordering and food distribution process since the street you exit on is a single lane in each direction and gets congested fast. Ambivalent about the frappes I've gotten here but sometimes I just need a quick caffeine fix, or a snack on the way home from a drinking binge when nothing else is open at 12:30 in the morning. read more

This McDonald's is so fun! It doesn't have a PlayPlace, but it has a few video game machines set up where you can play games for free. It's one of the nicer / newer McDonald's decor-wise. The bathrooms were clean, which is a big deal to me. We ordered an Deluxe Angus Third Pounder meal, a Filet-o-Fish, a McChicken sandwich, and a snack-size McFlurry (new!). We used some coupons, which they took without any trouble, and got our food promptly. Everything was delicous! The fries were hot, fresh, and not too salty. The only thing that could have been better was if the McFlurry was mixed a little more. One thing that sucks about this McDonald's though is that the Drive Thru isn't 24-hour. read more

This place is actually pretty good. Unfortunately the crowd during lunch doesn't allow most people to actually come here. The drive-through line is ridiculously packed and so is the inside. That being said, don't come here during lunch on a weekday. Now, the weekends are much much better. The staff here iswonderful and they are quick. The drive-through line on the weekends goes by very quickly and isn't much of a wait. Inside is also very nice. They do have a Mccafe menu. It is open late as well. This location has employees that don't work to meet the needs of their consumers. The managers and employees are untrained and will benefit from having HR or the district manager come to provide the training they need to enhance their working ethics. Multiple times I have left with negative experiences from this location. Things such as fries served cold, and the manager being rude to customer complaints - even when McDonald's motto has been the customer is always right. I used to be a McDonald's employee in the past and in my site location we were trained well to be professional and to meet the needs of customers. I can tell that this location lacks the training and education to be professional. HR and district managers please look into the work ethic of your employees and managers in this location site. What happened was I was ordering a combo with medium fries and a small drink. The employee wanted to charge me for each item separating: the burger, friends, and drink. I told her it was a combo with a small drink so she didn't change it because she said she couldn't give me a small drink. I asked her if I can talk to the manager of her site and she ignored me and told me that was my total. I had to tell her again I want to talk to her manager. She refused. I mentioned again, I want to talk to your manager, I used to work for McDonald's so I know that I can talk to your manager. She told me to pull to the first window. I talked to the manager but he was rude and was also charging me extra. I told him it was a combo with a small drink. He said he can't do that because of the way the machines are programmed. I knew he was lying because in the past when I was an employee if a customer requested a small drink with a combo we would manually do that for the customer. He told me I was wrong and that that is not what they do in his location. I was honestly shocked at the way he treated me. First, I have experience managers and employees going out of their way to help make the customer happy but in this situation, I can tell they are just lazy. Also, the manager seems to not have educated in English spoke the language. He didn't care about me as a customer. This is not the only time I have experienced bad service here. In the past, my order has been given wrong, and my fries have been served cold or soggy. The employees have been rude while taking my order and I had to double-check to make sure I wasn't charged incorrectly. Today's experience really just drew the line for me. At first, I thought maybe the employees and managers are new but after being a customer here for over a year, I realized the service here is just really bad and really a negative experience. I hope that HR and the district manager can come to this location and bring training for their employees and managers on this site.
