Glad the new Korean casual fast food opened up in Vienna! There are a variety of bowls "cups" to choose from with meaty and veggie options with free add-on toppings. You can order from the kiosk. There's plenty of indoor seating for solo and groups with a couple of outdoor tables. The #7 Fried Tofu Bowl was tasty! The fried tofu was light and airy and seasoned well in marinated soy garlic sauce. I was pleasantly surprised as tofu is usually dense and stiff. The Jap Chae noodles were flavorful and wish it was an option for a base instead of rice or salad. While the mixed greens were healthy, I would opt for the brown rice. The crunchy seaweed and the corn along with Yum Yum and Teriyaki sauce helped to round out the bowl. It would be nice if more veggies were offered as toppings. The advertising is a bit misleading as the bowls don't come with the spring roll. The 2 tiny Spring Rolls are extra, The crispy Spring Rolls were pipping hot, and yes - worth the $2 upcharge (although I wish they were complimentary of the bowl!) Excited to come back for another tofu bowl (I'll hold on the spring roll this time!)

Have driven by this place so many times and finally decided to stop in. So glad that I did! The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. Staff were very friendly and helpful! I ordered a beef bulgogi bowl with all the toppings. The beef was tender and packed with flavor. The rest of the sides were also very fresh and delicious. I would highly recommend trying this out!

Been wanting to try this place out for a while since they recently opened. Located in the small plaza infront of the Tyson's Walmart.. they specialize in protein rice bowls with different toppings along with other sides too. You can order with the staff or there's two kiosks, but the guy working was super friendly and helpful. The menu is pretty straightforward and you can pick what toppings you want/don't want in the bowl. Process is very similar to ordering a poke bowl. I got the soy sauce beef bulgogi bowl w/ rice base, japchae, kimchi, corn, and furikake and it was so yummy. The bulgogi was tasty and good quality. I think the portion is great for the price as well. I wish they had this around when I was a kid because I would always have to beg my parents to go to a Kbbq place just to get bulgogi (they always said no). I also tried the soy garlic chicken which was so good and a good portion to either enjoy by yourself or share with others. Definitely want to come back to try their 1person tteokbokki side dish next. Ambiance is very cute too. Very clean inside with TVs playing music videos. Definitely give this place a try!

Saw recently open and I wanted to check it out. I like Korean food, and the fast-casual style is a great combination, too. I had the tteok-galbi. The cashier was nice enough to explain that it was a mix of ground pork and ground beef. It has a great flavor. I also had spicy chicken for extra. My only complaint is that the rectangle box was a little bit annoying to eat out of. Other than that, it's a great casual spot for lunch that I would recommend.

Cupspops!! You gotta try their rice bowl (aka Korean bibimbap)! (Located outside part of Walmart shopping center.) Cupspops shop got variety of proteins to choose from and veggies/toppings and different types of sauces! Food is fresh! Fresh veggies, toppings and well balanced sauces. All meats looked well cooked. My husband and I got both got grilled pork. Mine I chose soy grilled pork and hubby got spicy gochujang pork. Our bowls were packed!! So much food!! My grilled pork definitely had the grilled smokey flavor and if you like that grilled flavor you will like this! It was good! My husband and I both love spicy food so their spicy level wasn't as spicy as we want but the sauces tastes good and flavorful. You can customize your bowl, add or leave out ingredients. But we got everything in it. The shop owner and employees are all super friendly and helpful!! We will definitely go back for more and try their other bowls!!

I stumbled upon this place while in the Tysons Corner area. I was immediately drawn to the Bulls as I was in a bulgogi mood. Service was very quick and friendly. The menu was easy to read. They have a variety of chicken, beef, and tofu bowls. They have a lot of delicious looking sides you could order. The actual Bowl was priced well and a good size. I couldn't finish it on my own, so it could be good for two people or one very hungry person. They give you three sauces, and all the sauces I tried were excellent. I especially like the spicy mayo and teriyaki sauces. The flavors of the food went well together and there was a variety of toppings that made it fun to eat. There is seating indoors and it is good for a families. They also have a soda/water station. I highly recommend this restaurant and would happily eat here again!

I did not love my experience at this place. The cashier - young lady was very pleasant but wasn't familiar with store policies. The male was unpleasant. There was not smile, no "thank-you," no "kindness." Albeit brief, the interaction was enough for me to conclude that this is not a place that I would return to. The chicken was JUST okay. The sauce was sticky but I didn't taste the spice. The sweet spicy gangjung does not come with any sides. I captured a picture of the sides of the bowl for visualization of the portion size compared to the price point. I paid $15.89 for a side of chicken. To manage expectations, the spicy chicken at BonChon is better and better priced per portion. Looking at the receipt, I see why they say no refunds because the chicken is not good, but the customer has no recourse.

Cupspops is a new build-your-own bowl restaurant that is a Korean twist on a not-to-be-named Mexican-style fast causal restaurant. Located in the Tysons West shopping area of Tysons Corner, this fairly new restaurant is off to a great start. I stopped by and built my own bowls. I tried a bowl with the spicy pork bulgogi as well as the crispy chicken. These meats are so flavorful! You can also pick your own base (I chose rice), and add on a variety of toppings such as kimchi salad, lettuce, and scrambled egg. And don't forget to top it all off with a sauce. I got the gochuchang sauce, and also a side of Buldak on the side (that is super spicy, be careful!) The service here was super quick and friendly. You can choose to either order at the counter or using the kiosk on the side, whichever you prefer. The portions were a good size for the price. This fast casual restaurant is so good, I wish that they'd open more throughout Northern Virginia.

This place has such a great vibe and atmosphere! It would be such a great place to go with friends & take cute photos to show off your lunch spot. We ordered two different options to try both, the chicken #2 and the beef galbi #6. The galbi was considerably better than the chicken so I'd recommend the beef! I think I need to come again and switch up my order to really find a combination of items I like together. Aside from their main dishes if the bowls, they have a variety of beer and other sweet drinks to choose from! They also have a variety of ice cream bars/desserts in the fridge which is so thoughtful! The two workers (maybe also owners?) were so kind and seemed to have a lot of joy in their new restaurant and they should! It was a great visit. Only real reason it wasn't a full 5 stars is that, it was a bit expensive and the bowl it self wasn't anything super special (it was good! but not necessary amazing). I would still recommend as a place to check out and support a small business!

First time here. Ordered Spicy Chicken (extra chicken), white rice, sweet corn, scrambled egg, crunchy seaweed, fried dumplings (2 pcs) & yum yum sauce. First of all, very nice looking and clean restaurant. It was easy to order and pay at the kiosk with a cc. Mind you, I got it to go so it might not be as good as eating it there. And it was around 4 pm. Not prime dinner time. HOWEVER, maybe it was an off day but what I had did not justify the 4.9 star rating. The spicy chicken was mealy and didn't taste fresh. Like it was sitting around as was the corn (not sweet), cold scrambled eggs & stale seaweed. The rice was way overcooked and mushy! How can one screw up rice in a rice cooker???? The only saving grace was the fried pork dumplings. Even if they were luke warm, they were still crispy and had a flavorful pork filling. I might give this place another chance but if I get the same quality again, I will definitely not be back. I hope the owner or manager sees this review. Even though it wasn't prime lunchtime or dinnertime, the food should always be fresh & not be sitting around for hours. I really wanted to like this place but this first impression, was definitely a poor one. And for $17.44 for a rice bowl is pretty expensive, even for Tysons!

Sweet Spicy fried chicken gangjung, with white rice, rice noodles, corn, egg and greens, topped with the very spicy buldak sauce..

I've been waiting for Cupspops to open, and didn't realize as I biked past that it's been open for 2 weeks now. So, of course, I stopped by for some great Korean BBQ chicken! This is a typical bowl restaurant where you order the main protein and then the rest of the bowl, which I got rice, some greens, rice noodles, corn and egg. I topped it with their spicy buldak sauce. The chicken is mildly sweet and spicy, good flavor, the outside very crispy. Perfect!! The spicy buldak sauce I got on top was very spicy, but I love spicy so it was a great choice. Next time I will get more on top. The corn, rice noodles and greens were good, especially with the buldak sauce. I ate about half of it, and then saved the rest for later since I wasn't planning on eating when I stopped by, but seeing it is open I had to stop, and I recommend everyone stop by since it really is very good!

Went on a Friday night. Not busy, only one other customer finishing up. Staff were super friendly and helpful! We ordered a spicy chicken bowl, beef bulgogi bowl and a beef galbi bowl. You have a variety of free add ons...I literally asked for all of them! There's several sauces to choose from too...I asked for Baldak which may be the spiciest and yum yum sauce. It had a nice kick but I could have done spicier lol. The place was very clean and bright. We definitely will be back! The bowls are very flavorful and filling!

Do you know if any restaurants around here serve vegetarian Jjajangmyeon, or if there's a Korean restaurant that offers a good version of it?

I'd just call them. Maybe they can make it for you if you order in advance? I've only ever seen it with pork otherwise. Jjajang Bokum Bap is like my favorite and would love to know if any place has it vegetarian myself.

If you're Korean, and you're looking for the traditional affair, this is not it. I'd take a client or friends here who aren't Korean. It's catered more towards non-Koreans IMO. They're selling this as an upscale spot and while the quality of meat is pretty darn good, you have to ask for lettuce and garlic - the two items always present at a traditional k bbq. It kind of sh*ts on the tradition by doing that. Why not provide that to give the full experience we all expect? I love luxury dining as much as anyone else but this was a colossal waste of money. I come to this shopping center multiple times a week since I live in McLean and almost always miss that this exists. They also have barstools outside facing the bar indoors but it's just so awkward. The sidewalk of this area is not built for that! Great idea (usually), but terrible execution. There's so many Korean bbq places nearby. I'm glad I tried this place to kill my curiosity of what they do different. Again, great spot if you want in bbq in a more upscale atmosphere, but it's more or less "fusion," and I'd be good with a business dinner here. Service was impeccable though. I appreciated the promptness in attending to our needs. The savory dishes btw- the dwenjangjiggae is awful. Lacks depth, flavor, and just overall was very meh. The other items (and we had all 5) were just fine. Nothing to sing home about.

Great service (oddly they're all REALLY attractive Asian guys... save for the front desk girl - and I'm a straight, married, asian male), prices are great for the quality of meat and service you get (they cook for you) They come with the little appetizer plates like most Korean restaurants do, and they all have their own little twist to them, not super vanilla but still keeping to their roots and simple flavors. The green onion one was particularly memorable Our side dishes were excellent. Cheesy corn and seafood pancake. Both come out in cast iron pan, so it's piping hot and super fresh. Corn is hella cheesy and paired great with the appetizers. The seafood pancake was DENSE - really packed with seafood and not so much filler We got their combo so it came with kimchi soup and egg soufflé. The soup was very simple, very spicy. The soufflé was a nice contrast - light, fluffy, honestly almost felt like a desert. We definitely done made a mistake because for two of us, by this time the meats were ready to be cooked, we were about 60% full - and there were 4 meats to cook through We got brisket, pork belly, bulgogi, and another beef I don't remember - ended up taking about 1/3 of it home and half the pancake Our server was attentive and busy managing other tables so it's great to see all these guys staying sharp Considering how much food we took home, the bill was quite reasonable. I ordered shrimp and chicken hibachi with fried rice and vegetables--pretty standard, nothing complicated. What I got instead was a sad, confused plate that looked like it gave up halfway through being cooked. The chicken looked like it had been pulled off a grocery store rotisserie, chopped up, flashed over heat for all of 30 seconds, and drowned in sauce to hide the shortcuts. The shrimp weren't much better--just there, no real seasoning, no real effort. And let's be clear--this wasn't a situation where the kitchen was slammed or overwhelmed. The restaurant was completely empty except for me. No crowd. No rush. No pressure. They had every opportunity to take their time and put together a decent meal. Which makes it worse, because this clearly isn't a bad night--it's just the level they operate on. The "fried rice" was the real insult. Calling it fried rice is generous. It was plain white rice with what looked like a light mist of soy sauce. No vegetables. No eggs. Not even onions. Just beige disappointment. And it tasted exactly how it looked--bland, flat, and completely forgettable. And somehow they also threw in noodles I didn't ask for--dry, lifeless noodles that looked like they'd been sitting under a heat lamp since lunch, and just as bland as everything else in the box. This is not hibachi. This is mall food court quality at best--and even that's being kind. An $11 plate? Sure. $20? Absolutely not. Then the fried chicken wings. I ordered soy garlic, expecting something even remotely comparable to places like Bonchon, where the sauce is rich, glossy, slightly sticky, and actually clings to the wings. What I got instead was a watery, reddish sauce that slid right off. It had the consistency of hot sauce, not a soy garlic glaze. No depth, no balance--and yes, just as bland and underwhelming as the hibachi. All in, I spent over $30, and not a single item justified the price. For that same money, I could have gone to Benihana or literally any decent hibachi spot and had a meal that actually resembled what I ordered. This place being a sit-down restaurant makes it even worse. If you're going to charge sit-down prices, the food needs to reflect that. Right now, it doesn't come close. Save your money. Skip this place entirely. I'm so sad I drove 20 mins to and from this place. I just wanted some good hibachi.

Nice location, plenty of parking, very bright & clean dining area. Super friendly Staff !!!…read more We tried two different Bento Box Lunches- reasonable prices, especially for what u get. Miso soup & salad come with it to start and then your box. The Bento Box is full of unique & tasty food items. I am not a huge fan of Tofu, but thiers was delicious. Really really good, and the Tempura was exceptional. I did Sushi which was awesome & fresh. My wife did Salmon, she let me try some & it is probably some of the best that I have ever had. It was remarkable. This spot has jumped to our favorite list, and will be back way sooner than we expected. .

Yes, yes, I know it sounds crazy, but I had the best shrimp tempura roll here. I love sushi, and…read morethat is a staple roll for me, but something about this one completely blew me away. The roll looked like any other shrimp tempura at first, but it must have been made with extra love. The shrimp had the perfect crisp and texture. It was so good that it honestly makes me think about going back right now, even though the place is over an hour away. I also ordered the spider roll, which was delicious. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. I ordered the Scallop Assassin roll as well, and while it was not my favorite, I do think it is something someone else would enjoy. I ordered online for pickup, so I am wondering if I had a bit of a finger slip when ordering, because it is not a roll I would normally choose. For that reason, I am not knocking off any stars -- it just was not for me personally. The service was quick and patient, allowing me time to look everything over and checking back in at just the right moments. Even though I ordered for pick up I had extra time so asked if I could eat there and ordered the spider roll once I got there. I arrived about an hour before they closed for their lunch break, so I was not there very long, but the atmosphere was quiet, and the restaurant looked clean and well decorated. Overall, I am adding Sushi Yama to my list for when I am in the area. There are so many rolls I still want to try. Everything felt fairly priced, which I really appreciate -- I cannot stand price gouging.

Maru Ramen & Korean Cuisine was really good, and I'd definitely recommend it (at least for boxes,…read moreidk about the ramen) I got the spicy pork lunch special, and the portion was great. It was around $18.50. you get a lot for the price. The pork was really well marinated, had a lot of flavor, and they were not stingy with the amount. It also felt somewhat healthy since it came with a nice variety of sides. The meal came with three banchan: bean sprouts, kimchi, and cucumbers. They were all good and nicely pickled. There was also a small miso soup, which was a nice touch. The sides made the meal feel like a great deal. You get rice, and the purple rice upgrade was free. The salad was good too. it was not the ginger-style dressing. The tempura came with four pieces, and it was actually crispy panko instead of just being soft batter, which is always a good sign. The sushi was good as well, and the California roll came with three pieces. The vibe was also really welcoming. It was still busy on a Sunday around 1:30, which makes it seem like people really like this place. I also liked that they had self-pour water, which is always nice for a casual spot. Overall, this was a great meal. The portions were big, the food had a lot of flavor, and the value was really good. I totally recommend Maru Ramen & Korean Cuisine.

Last week we went with friends for an early Friday evening dinner at Maru in Vienna. Maru has been…read moreone of favorite DMV restauarants. However, there was a sign on their day saying they were now only open for lunch. Of course, we were disappointed, but were quickly able to figure out that there was another Maru location in the Pan Am shopping center. I was familiar with Pan Am because I buy art supplies at the Plaza store there. So, we headed over to the Pan Am Maru. A friendly staffer promptly seated us. About half the tables were occupied. We asked out server what was going on with the Vienna Maru and she told us they were gradually shutting it down completely. However, the Pan Am Maru is not fully functional yet. They have a sushi counter but it won't open until next year. I also don't know if the current Pan Am Maru menu is the one they are going with going forward. But I do note it is smaller than the one at the Vienna Maru, noting in particular that the lunch options, such as the bento boxes, are not on the Pan Am Maru menu. If they have done away with the bento boxes, I'm not that interested in returning. Service at the Pan Am Maru was very good. The ambience is comfortable. We ordered Spicy Pork Bulgogi, Spicy Chicken Bulgogi, Japchae, and the Katsu special. When they say the pork and chicken bulgogi are spicy, Mary is not fooling around. These dishes are hot spicy! Overall, each of our dishes were well-prepared and tasty. I also ordered the beef bulgogi steamed buns and they were excellent .
