Arrived at Jason's, and there was a line more than halfway to the door. This might take a while because I noticed only one person taking orders. Before you know it, I was next to order. Then I saw a hand wave above the cash register, motioning me to come over. That's when I noticed they have three areas open to take orders, and two of them are, let's say, not very tall people. Their heads were lower than the cash registers. You could not see them, but that line disappeared really quickly. Anyway, I placed my order, 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread Grilled Cheese Sandwich with Soup, and a Diet Dr Pepper drink. The lady replied back my order and asked what kind of soup, Tomato Basil or Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw. I asked her to repeat that, and she said, Tomato Basil or Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw. I said, I'm sorry, could you repeat the last part. She said, Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw. I then said, Tomato Basil Soup will be fine. For the life of me, I could not understand what kind of soup Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw was, and I don't know if that sounded good or not. But I do know Tomato Basil Soup is a good soup. FYI, the 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread has two-slices of Cheddar Cheese and one-slice (in the center) of Muenster Cheese. That really sounds gooeygoodness to me. I grabbed my cup and number, filled my cup with Diet Dr Pepper (the Texas Coke), and located a table. This place is really busy with only a couple tables open. When one table is available, their Table-Cleaner is right there preparing it for the next customer. That is Service at its Best. Nicely done Jason. In a couple of minutes, my order arrived, and the Tomato Basil Soup was served in a Kettle Bowl style with Chunks of Tomato throughout and melted Chedder Cheese on top. Not what the picture showed on-line, and that looked delicious, and this looks better - Love It. However, the Grilled Cheese Sandwich is cut into small quarters. This 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread is one-tiny-slice, but nicely toasted. Peeked inside for the cheese, and it's only a small dab of yellow and white. This is not a "Brylcreem Commercial" where a 'Little Dab Will Do Ya', it's a Grilled Cheese Sandwich, and I'm looking for the Cheese. I do not see how this could be three-slices, which doesn't even go to the edge of the toast. The Tomato Basil Soup is absolutely Delicious and Flavorful, and loving those chunks of tomatoes. Love That Soup. The 100% Whole Grain Wheat Bread is toasted perfectly and has the perfect crunch in every bite. Once in a while, you could actually taste a little cheese, but not often. The only thing I was disappointed in was their Grilled Cheese Sandwich with very little cheese. Other than that, I enjoyed my lunch and loved their Tomato Basil Soup. When I left, there was still a line, and it was moving pretty fast. Now I'm wondering what that Bla,Bla,Ble,Ble,Blaw soup was and how it tasted. I didn't see it on the menu board, so it must be something new they are trying. Maybe next time I will order it, but with something other than the Grilled Cheese Sandwich. My Lovely Wife "LOVES" to Cook. Okay, no, she doesn't, but that doesn't stop her from cooking -…read moreunless we go out to eat. Some friends of ours have mentioned a certain place that has really good burgers, and we also heard about this place from others. Well, Saturday, I was busy in the yard and around the house until around 2:30 pm or so, and stopped because it was 95 degrees outside and I don't need that. My Wife was in the house doing her thing, ran a couple of errands, and took care of a few computer things that popped up on her. I knew by looking at her that she didn't want to cook dinner, and I didn't either. I also know that she would rather go out to eat than cook. That being said, I suggested that we go try that Burger place that we were informed about a few times and have not been. She replied, "Oh, you mean Tall Man? I responded, "Uh, I think you mean Tall Guys, but that's close. She agreed that that's where she wants to go. It's called "Tall Guys Burgers & Fries". They specialize in SmashBurgers, and we Love SmashBurgers. I pulled it up online, and they have outstanding reviews. So, that's what we are going to do. See, guys, when your other half (the better one) is down, tired, exhausted, and all worn out from a rough day, just suggest that we go out for dinner. Even though it was a couple of hours before dinner, my Wife was already perked up. You know, come to think of it, this just might have been a trick. But that doesn't matter because we both like going out to eat. Dinner time came around, and we took off for Tall Guys. Arrived and was impressed by how clean the outside and inside of this place is, it's spotless everywhere you look. The decor inside has a Rustic look to it, and kind of takes you back to a simpler time in life. There are also some Artsy paintings on the walls - Nice Touch. No customers are here at the moment, so we looked over the menu and inquired about some of the Burgers we were told about. Cortney informed us that those are the Burgers of the Month, but a couple of them are available. She also explained a lot about what they offer and how the SmashBurgers come. Tall Guys menu is very basic, but they do offer a lot of different toppings. I went with the "Beef & Chicken Smashburger", Two-SmashBurger Patties, with Pepper Jack Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Pickles & Sauce. Served with a choice of French Fries, chose regular. My Wife went with their "Mushroom SmashBurger", Three-SmashBurger Patties, with lots of Mushrooms & Sauce covering the patties. Chose Sweet Potato Fries. Our drinks are Diet Dr Pepper for me and a Diet Coke for my wife. While we waited for our orders, we enjoyed our drinks. Since they are not busy at the moment, I presented Cortney and Dustin, the cook, with the "Dollar-Bow-Tie" Award for going above and beyond the norm. They loved the Award, and soon after, more people arrived. Some you can tell are regulars, and that's always good to see. A short time later, Dustin brought out our food. Both of these SmashBurgers are a good size, and the Buns are actually served HOT, not warm, but HOT to the touch. Never has that happened anywhere before. Nice Touch - but don't touch it because it's HOT. Both SmashBurgers are a Beautiful Presentation (and we soon found out) of Tastyliciousness. My Two-SmashBurger Patties with the Pepper Jack Cheese are Delicious. The Chicken Breast Huge, and breaded perfectly. It's Tasty-Juicy-Licious, also compliments the SmashBurgers. This is a Tall SmashBurger and one's mouth can only bite into it from the bottom up - and every SmashBurger bite is very SmashlyFlavorful. All on a Toasted Brioche Bun, and it's the right choice - and did I say they are served HOT?. Well, they are. My French Fries were also prepared the way they should be, golden brown with the right amount of salt, with a nice outer crunch. My Wife loved every bite of her Mushroom SmashBurger, with Three-SmashBurger Patties covered in a lot of Mushrooms & Sauce. My Lovely Wife doesn't eat a lot, but she finished this entire Mushroom SmashBurger, and I think she even licked the wrapper. She also said that their Sweet Potato Fries were the best she has ever had. That, folks, is saying something because she LOVES Sweet Potato Fries and has had them 'everywhere'. Her tray also came with a Sauce for the Sweet Potato Fries, or the Mushroom SmashBurger, to dip into. I had some, and it is Saucylicious. My Wife and I enjoyed every bite we had at "Tall Guys Burgers & Fries", and can't wait to go back for something else "Smashed". They are on Facebook - Tall Guys Burgers & Fries - We both have had SmashBurgers before, but Tall Guys has the Best Ever. Lots of people here say they have the Best SmashBurgrs (or Burgers) in all of San Angelo. My Wife and I can't argue that, they are absolutely SmashBurgerLiciousness - with lots of choices. Our waitress was friendly, took our order and brought our orange juices quickly. I ordered the Western omelette w/hash browns (potato chunks) & toast and my husband opted for the breakfast burrito and coconut cream pie for desert. My husband seemed to have enjoyed his breakfast more than I mine although he didn't like the pie. My toast was buttery and there was no jelly in sight or our waitress to ask. Also, no salt & pepper or condiments on any of the tables like other restaurants. Perhaps because it's a senior citizen complex they aren't allowed to spice things up. Guessing here, perhaps government subsidized (501C3) so they are able to offer price reduced meals. The place was clean, quiet, ample seating and a nice menu selection. However, it's just not my thing to dine in at a "nursing home environment". I'm happy to see Main Street Cafe is available for those who are wanting cheap meals.

Absolutely no customer service, no greeting, no smile. We all have bad days but you could tell this was just who she is... Maybe make her in charge of cleaning things and not dealing with the customers? (the same person could care less when the couple next to me received their order backwards. The woman couldn't eat spicy foods and her burger was covered with spicy items. She took it up to the woman taking orders and the woman refused to do anything. Wow.) The restrooms, wood sides along booths, pickle table and the condiments/tables need a serious cleaning - there is grossness abounding. I didn't see one person busing or cleaning in the restaurant - and it shows! Gross. The fries could've been great if they were crispy but they were all super soggy. FRY FAIL! Onions: you can leave them thick for the onion rings but if you're putting a slice of onion on my burger you better slice it thin. Nobody needs a huge half inch thick slice of onion in the middle of a burger. PRO: The burger was cooked to perfection. At least they got that right, which is why I gave them three stars - nothing else I experienced in this restaurant deserved any stars. The owner/manager are lazy at best cause they obviously don't care about the customer experience.
