This is your typical crummy dirty McDonald's that charges a little bit more because of the location. It's always filthy and full of homeless people based on its location in Santa Monica. Awful service. I ordered fries to be brought to my car (spot 1) After 20 minutes waiting I go to the counter. I requested a manager. The assistant manager I couldn't understand due to broken English. I requested a 2nd manager and she was even less comprehensible. Apparently, they were alleging that they came to my vehicle and I wasn't there. Total BS. Every Friday during the season leading up to Easter the fish sandwich is $2.99; normally $6.57 each. I have tried those fish sandwiches and they are very good and filling. But I could tell that worker is not having a good day) or idk. And the item that I wanted Is IN FRONT OF THE TAPE THING. But all and all if you go to this McDonalds and if your getting the Deluxe QPC MAKE SURE CHECK IT (luckily I did) cause they might get it wrong. Ok I've been to alot of McDonald's but this one is one of the worse. You walk right in and the smell of urine kicks you right in the face. Then if that doesn't bother you the amount of homeless hanging around the place will give you the real fear you've been waiting for. Even though they have a security guard he didn't make me feel any better. Service was fine. They got me in and out fast and here you would definitely want to get out fast. Food well as with all other fast food places the prices of the food goes up but quality goes down. They'll tell you about the deals but never tell you the prices went up. I was there mostly for the frappe, I've been over doing it at Starbucks so I figure give here a try. They charge extra for anything you want in it, starbucks doesn't do that. "It's a McDonald's, what did you expect" Sir, this is a McDonald's. And this is a review based on the assumption that you're comparing this McDonald's to other McDonald's and fast food restaurants. The food is standard. It certainly doesn't look like the commercials but it never has. For me, everything has at least been as ordered. And it comes out extremely quickly given this place is usually fully staffed. The service is about what I expected from a kiosk. The actual employees called out my order number and handed me my food. They didn't ask about how my day was or talk to me about the latest Big Mac trends, and I'm ok with that. Price wise, this is about a quarter of the price of anything else within walking distance. I think it's great it's close to the pier. It serves a lot of different people. There are a few rules in place so that this doesn't become an overnight shelter and that's ok. Overall this place doesn't beat out Elephante, BOA, or the Whaler. That should go without saying, but given the poor reviews, I felt I had to say it. For me, it's a nice treat once in a while. Protip: use the app. You get discounts and it makes ordering easier. Also(!!) the hand sanitizer is on the side of the ordering kiosks. That was hard to find for some reason. read more

This is one of the only restaurants in the area that are open 24 hours. It's Friday and they're offering a $2.50 deal on their Filet O Fish sandwiches, so why not enjoy some midnight muchies. After we received the food we began to eat at their stand up table but we were kicked out because they do not allow eating inside late at night. Also the cashier overcharged me on the sandwiches but I was credited for the error. We ordered on our way to this McDonald's and barely even set foot inside of the store, just once to get some wifi to order. We waited in the car for awhile and our food was delivered to us. McDonalds has always been my kid's favorite place. They see the sign and immediately ask for it. We took a walk along the beach and they were hungry so we kept walking until we got to this McDonald. They were super excited because they love the happy meals The place was so crowded when we walked in that we had a hard time finding a table. We placed an order for 2 happy meals and a burger. I asked if they served the breakfast bowls as it was 1pm and they advertise breakfast all day. The cashier told me that they didn't have the bowls which to me is false advertising. We did get our order a few minutes later and the kids sat at a booth to eat it. They have several TVs throughout the store that play advertisements which is kind of nice. We got the nuggets for one of the meals and they were super dry. The extra burger was so bad that my child took a single bite and refused to touch it after. I went to the manager and asked if she would swap for something else and she did. Overall it's a very clean McDonald and there was plenty of staff members working. I hate that the water cups they give as they have no lids. I spilled mine after I filled up so I recommend a cup with lid. read more

It's definitely more pricey, about twice the amount as in a McDonald's in a less popular location, but you can expect that since it's so conveniently near the Santa Monica Pier and the beach. I went with my sister and younger cousin, and we were in a crunch. We were just about ready to leave, with our bus coming in about 20-30 minutes, and we had a pretty big order so I was anxious about if we could get our food before it rolled in. I mean, we had a pretty big order since we needed enough for the 8 of us. The food itself was pretty decent, your typical fish filets and fries. I don't know where you can get sauces, though, but check the electronic kiosk because it may be there. Also, if you were planning on saving money by getting water- just get the soda, since water is 50 cents. When we were there, it was surprisingly not jam packed with people at the tables, though it usually is so don't expect an empty table if you wanted to dine in. The bathroom is clean, but the problem with it is that you need to give proof of being a customer to an employee, when there's usually no one around! You need to purchase your meal before you can wash your hands to prove you're a "customer". I just waited until someone opened the door, which was locked on one end so you couldn't get in, because I didn't want to bother getting the receipt from my sister. Overall: good for fast service, but not for staying. It's a fast food restaurant after all, so just eat on a bench or something. read more
