Wow--what a surprise! While visiting the Santa Monica Pier, we decided to grab a quick lunch. We spotted a busy, crowded burger stand and figured it must be popular for a reason. Then we saw the sign claiming 115 years old--and that certainly got our attention! They absolutely lived up to the history. The burger was big, juicy, tasty, and packed with beef, and the hand-cut fries were excellent. And, as a bonus, they had Coke Zero--always a plus in my book! It's hard for a simple burger joint to earn five stars, but honestly, I can't think of anything I would change. They do exactly what a great burger joint should do: make incredible burgers, serve great fries, and do it well. Five stars without hesitation!
This is the perfect place to eat on the Santa Monica Pier. Serving burgers, fries, hot dogs, and shakes, it has everything you need for lunch on the pier. There is an area with tables inside, a covered patio area, and an area with umbrella tables just outside. We were there around lunch time and it was very very busy. He started off sharing the table with somebody else, but as one emptied we were able to get our own. You ordered at the counter and they'll call you name when it's ready to be picked up. There's also a window to order from outside if you just want to eat out on the pier. The young man taking her order was an absolute cheerful joy! Very helpful. We all got a cheeseburger, the fries, and a soda. Cheeseburger was exceptionally good, and while it looks small initially, it was the perfect size. The fries tasted fresh. This is great little hamburger place!

Fast, easy, convenient and reasonably priced for being on the Santa Monica pier. Located near the entrance of the pier...and the food did not let us down. Sometimes those places that have a good location are just that...take advantage of the convenient location and the quality of the food is not so great. Great location, the burger was good, and the fries crispy and nicely salted. Only thing... a little small for a close-to $10 burger. Service was fast...within 5 minutes of placing my order, my order was out. Nice and casual...there are seats inside and also outside in the pier. Wish they had tater tots . Other than that, this place is overall good. Prices are decent (you're in Santa Monica, prices are bit higher) , food good for what it is.
Hands down the best strawberry shake on the pier and in my recent memory. And I know a thing or two about strawberry shakes. High five to Ashley who made my shake and my day! Great attitude and service. Nice old school retro diner vibe.

(By request) fry's come in two sizes small and large which is a pound of fries. We bought two and only needed one for a family of 5! Service is pleasant and fast. Only downside is that tourists sit in their outside seating to chill out and not even order food. We had to stand for a bit before a table opened. It would be nice if they monitored that but the place is good.
We wanted a quick bite on the pier and decided to split a chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger. The service wasn't very friendly and a bit dismissive. The prices are good and a few different quick options to eat. There are tables indoor and outdoor and your name is called when ready. The sandwiches were okay, nothing out of this world and with the customer service I would go somewhere else next time.

The food is good, service is always nice and quick. As for the environment of the place it's nice, a little bit of wall art. You can eat in or outside of the shop. If you're at Santa Monica pier, give this place a try. It's worth the money.
The pier was very busy when we stopped by on Saturday and this place was no exception. We waited a few minutes in line and luckily we found a table right away. The cashier was friendly and she took my order quickly. I ordered a double cheeseburger combo with a soda and fries and my cousin ordered a small chocolate ice cream. My cousin got her ice cream right away and I waited about 10 minutes for my food. You must keep your receipt and show the worker when picking up your food! The fries were really good. They were perfectly salted, hot, and crispy. The burger was tasty and very very juicy - causing the bread to get soggy and fall apart after a few bites. The meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly though - no complaint there. It got to be pretty busy and it was loud inside. The line situation seemed to confuse a lot of people and they would mistake the pickup line for the ordering line. Overall, the food was good and people watching while eating was entertaining.
This food was genuinely worth it price wise and flavor. They also have chili burgers which I definitely recommend!! Their menu has many options compared to the other spots on the pier. Plenty of seating for family and friends!
Pier Burger is located near the Route 66 sign as you head into Santa Monica Pier. You can't miss the red and white building with vintage looking signage that really gives off that retro feel and takes you back in time. Their menu features burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, frozen custard desserts, and more. Place your order on the right side (look for the sign) and then pick-up the goods on the left side. It can get quite busy, so be prepared for a bit of a wait until your order is called/ready. They do have an ample amount of seating inside and outside. I recommend grabbing a seat while waiting and sitting outside if you have a larger party. We ordered the pier burger, hot dog, and vanilla milkshake. Since this was a spontaneous pick, I didn't really have any expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised! The burger was quite tasty with great flavor. Their burgers are made with 100% certified angus beef and served with fresh lettuce, tomato, and homemade sauce. The hot dog was also very delicious and I think I enjoyed that slightly more than the burger. If you love milk shakes like I do, this is a solid spot for that as well. I didn't notice the "concretes" on the menu which is frozen custard blended thick, but I did still enjoyed my vanilla shake. Overall, great spot for a meal!

There's space indoors to dine in and an area with a covering if you want an outside vibe. Just beware of the pigeons! It was a GREAT place to have lunch while visiting the Santa Monica Pier. Fast, easy, convenient and reasonably priced for being on the Santa Monica pier. Located near the entrance of the pier...and the food did not let us down. Sometimes those places that have a good location are just that...take advantage of the convenient location and the quality of the food is not so great. The pier was very busy when we stopped by on Saturday and this place was no exception. We waited a few minutes in line and luckily we found a table right away. The cashier was friendly and she took my order quickly. I ordered a double cheeseburger combo with a soda and fries and my cousin ordered a small chocolate ice cream. My cousin got her ice cream right away and I waited about 10 minutes for my food. You must keep your receipt and show the worker when picking up your food! The fries were really good. They were perfectly salted, hot, and crispy. The burger was tasty and very very juicy - causing the bread to get soggy and fall apart after a few bites. The meat was cooked and seasoned perfectly though - no complaint there. It got to be pretty busy and it was loud inside. The line situation seemed to confuse a lot of people and they would mistake the pickup line for the ordering line. My eldest daughter and I were at Santa Monica Pier for the Heal the Bay beach cleanup volunteer event. Afterwards, we strolled on the pier for a little bit. When I saw custard shake, I knew I had to pay Pier Burger a visit. We had already ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co so we weren't hungry, but I just wanted the shake. We got in line from the outside with about 3 people in front of us. Once we got up to the order window, staff was welcoming and helpful. After my curiosity questions LOL, I ordered the strawberry custard shake. They only have one size and it's a pretty decent cup size almost like a 28+ oz cup. The wait wasn't too long. We picked up our shake from the inside. They have inside and outside seating. We just stood at the outside bar-like table. I was so looking forward to the custard texture and taste. Unfortunately, it was not as custardy as I would have preferred. It tasted more milky than custardy. Nevertheless, it was still a good shake. Would I get it again? Maybe. Anyway, they are known for their burgers and fries. I don't eat beef anymore so it doesn't do me any good, but they do have a veggie burger. They also have chicken sandwiches and hot dogs. Besides shakes, they also have floats, ice cream sundaes, and something called concretes (maybe it's a thick shake). Menu is not massive... just enough of basic coverage! =) If you're hungry for burgers, fries, drinks, and more, this is the place to hit at the Santa Monica Pier! read more

We ordered 4 ice creams. Upon a revisit I would order everyone waffle cones. The issue is that the waffle cone is handed to you immediately, meanwhile, a concrete requires them to put it in the kitchen order which means you have to wait A LONG TIME. It was about $30 for 4 of us with 4 ice creams. I am 50/50 on a revisit. read more
We stopped in here on our recent trip to the Santa Monica Pier. There are a couple places to choose from on the pier, but this one had better reviews on Yelp, so we chose this one. The burgers were delicious. They aren't huge, but that was ok for us. My daughter enjoyed her hot dog. My wife loved her chocolate shake. They do charge $1 for soda refills, but that was worth it. read more
I spent a wonderful day hanging out with my family on the beach and we decided to grab some lunch. A quick Yelp search led me here as the burger photos looked too good to pass up. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised. I thought this might be one of those places that are too good to be true, but the food was just as delicious as it looked in the photos. We loved the burgers, and my son loved the hot dog. Buns were great. Ingredients were fresh. Fries were thin, hot, and crispy! Lemonade was tasty too. They have a nice picnic style patio where you can sit and enjoy your meal. Beware - pigeons may try to steal your food, but it is the beach after all. lol No complaints about the service. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and although it was busy, we didn't wait too long. We very much enjoyed our experience here. read more

Fast service for fresh fast food. The burgers are amazing, fries stay warm and crispy. They will even make your burger protein style. Best burger in LA hands down!!! What was ordered: Double cheese burger Singe cheese Burger Grilled hotdog Small fries (1/2 lb) All served on potato buns I got them fully loaded with Lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and grilled onions Hot dog was cut drown the middle and grilled Fries were hot and crispy Staff was nice ans helpful. The place gave off old school vibes which I loved. Simple decor and seats but the food keeps you coming back for more. $30 with tax and tip Worth every penny. Definitely coming back here read more

If you're on Santa Monica Pier, you can't miss Pier Burger. Right across from Forrest Gump's Bubba Gump restaurant, this place nails the classic burger. It's juicy, fresh, and hits the spot every time. Pair it with their berry banana custard and it's the perfect sweet finish to your meal. Grab a burger, enjoy the view, and soak in that pier vibe! read more
It wasn't very busy when we went, but it was very slow to get your order in. They need to streamline the ordering process better. I ordered a strawberry ice cream and was given a vanilla ice cream. I was quickly given the correct order and it didn't bother me. I think it's important to note that service was a bit slow. The strawberry Ice Cream cone was delicious according to my son. I think he likes anything sweet especially ice cream. I will admit it was pretty good. I probably wouldn't come back as it's a tourist trap. read more
