For the once proud Promenade - this place is a pretty good option. My only complaint is that the seating sucks The food is solid. I have a hella high spice tolerance and I could feel some heat from the Habenero chicken sandwich so that was a win. The portion sizes are decent, food is fresh and the staff was friendly. I'd come back here no doubt.
My first visit. Impulse visit. Starving and it was there. I had the buttermilk fried chicken salad. It had avocado and sliced eggs and a creamy delicious dressing. The guy was super nice. The place wasn't packed which suited me just fine. Quite frankly, the fried chicken nuggets were the best fried chicken I've ever eaten. Seriously. I took a catering menu because I can imagine a bucket or tray of these with a row of dipping sauces. Great place.
I got the chicken waffle sandwich & it was everything I hoped for. Crispy + juicy chicken with just the right amount of spice! Sndwiched between perfectly toasted waffles. The syrup brought it all together in that sweet + savory way that's just so good! My friend got the breakfast burrito, which was super filling & packed with delicious flavors, also a great choice! It's an order-at-the-counter & find-your-own-seat type of place. Seating is mostly outdoor patio-style... casual, open seating with a laid-back vibe. The spot is tucked into a cute shopping center that's just a short walk from the beach, but parking can be tricky. No validation here.. street parking is competitive. We found a nearby parking structure and paid just $2 though, so it worked out!
I had been waiting weeks to try this place because i always see people with it and i ended up trying right around 9:30pm which may have been my mistake. The chicken tenders were absolutely disgusting. I went to take a bite and SO MUCH water came gushing out, I was pretty grossed out. Then I was like ok I'm just going to eat the crust but even that was below mid with no seasoning or taste. I threw it away then decided to ask the lady if it was supposed to be like that. She said no and was going to make me a milkshake I wanted instead, but the machine was already off. Left feeling disappointed, hungry and with a pretty bad taste in my mouth. To make matters worse this was my cheat meal for the week. Service was great though and she washed her hands every single time she touched food which I appreciate, but yeah if you must try don't do it before closing. (Fries were good)

We passed by this place and it looked inviting. So we gave it a try. Inside is a decent amount of seating. Even during the dinner rush we were able to find a table. It was pretty clean considering its location and the amount of foot traffic. The staff shined. Very helpful and willing to explain to options to us. The kids kept changing their minds about the sauces and the staff was patient through that process. As to the food, the chicken was moist and juicy. The flavor on the chicken fingers is a bit different than your typical Canes or chicken finger joint. It has a more herbs and spices. The adults enjoyed the flavor but it was a bit strong for the kids. The kids chicken nugget meal though was fantastic. The waffle fries stole the show. Crispy, hot and delicious. And a great value. We bought each of the kids a meal, but they easily could have split one. If you're in the area and want some great tasting chicken, definitely give it a try!
I loved it at bruxie. The waffles are so crispy and even have a nice crunch. I got the holy chicken! and the chicken and waffles!! Both 5/5 the holy chicken! Is so good with the wafffles as part of the "sandwitch/taco" It's open seating and you order at the counter. You can also get it to go. The special maple syrup is really tasty! Service was quick and you can self serve water. I would deff go back! Good vibes
Questionable customer service.. We came home after ordering a super Kluss and grilled chicken ranch sandwich and we came home and the super clucks did not have our bacon and egg. Our server was Natalie and we called the store to speak with her who we were able to speak with a manager by the name of Alex. He said we would be refunded and it never came. I never try to fault servers for mistakes and we should have double checked our order before leaving, but mistakes happen on both ends! I think what made this a bitter experience was that they said they were going to fix the mistake and did not customer service is a huge attribute that makes people come again The ambiance was not busy at the time we came & the location was clean. This is not my first time coming here, so I know that this may have been a one time thing, so I will may try & visit again
Their menu needs to be a little larger for us with bad eyesight, haha! Had to take a photo of the menu to see what item I wanted to order. After getting rained out near the beach, friends and I decided to walk towards Third Street and get some brunch. Not too many places were open at 10 am on Saturday, but thankfully Bruxie was. We ordered at the register and grabbed a seat while waiting for our food. We all ended up ordering the Super Cluck ($16) because who can say no to a waffle, fried chicken, and fried egg? If you're not super hungry, best to split with a friend so you are not food comatose afterwards. I was hungry and ate it all, though I did feel so full afterwards and appreciated the walk back to my car.
While everything on their menu looks amazing (and tastes great too), I hands down recommend their breakfast burrito. Get every sauce too, they are all so good. My husband had his grilled cheese waffle sandwich and he loved it, but as soon as he took a bite of my burrito, he knew the truth. Immediately he went to go order a burrito for himself. Bruxie knows what they are doing for sure.

[ Parking ] We parked at the Santa Monica Place parking lot, which is free for the first 90 minutes. [ Restroom ] There is a restroom.
I think the food is good, and I enjoyed my chicken waffle sandwich that also came with an egg. All the ingredients went well together. But it became hard to enjoy the meal when we kept having to deal with homeless individuals coming in and just thrashing the place. They don't even just sit; they literally just trash the place or get into arguments with the staff. Made enjoying my meal very hard. One homeless lady came in and just sat down and tried to put her cans into a bag she asked the front desk for. Turned out those cans were stolen from the store next door. We know this because the manager from next door came and confronted her in the restaurant. The lady responded by slapping the manager, all this while next to us. Staff did nothing but watch, and it was just all uncomfortable all around. I can't say these are the kind of shows I enjoy with my lunch. -_- On the plus side, the strawberry shake is good! And my kids did enjoy the tenders. Pro tip: ask for the spicy honey sauce for your sandwich! Bomb! Won't be back to this location though.
Succulent Fried Chicken Sandwich in a brioche bun, seasoned to perfection in a crispy batter with a ridiculously juicy interior. Make it spicy, make it mild, get a sandwich or tenders. Whatever you get, you won't be disappointed. Make it a combo! The place has a small inside seating arrangement and a smaller patio, ideal for a great, sunny day.
Stopped by here on a Saturday morning, and it was pretty crowded, but the service was still friendly and pretty well-paced. I tried the grilled chicken ranch BLT and my friend tried the original. Both were delicious! Highly recommend if you are in the mood for chicken! My only issue would be that since they're so busy, the tables are pretty dirty. Also, the staff have to wander around and call for people to get their orders to them. Maybe having table numbers or buzzers would be better? Just a thought! read more

Bruxie in Downtown Santa Monica serves up surprisingly delicious chicken tenders--moist, flavorful, and way better than they look. But the real star? The crispy, golden waffle-cut fries. Friendly staff and a standard fast-casual setup make it an easy, satisfying stop. read more
Huge thank you to Bruxie and their very kind and accommodating staff! We had a large group for a birthday celebration and they were so kind, even checking in on us during the meal even though this is a fast casual spot with no table service. It's an indoor / outdoor vibe but they have a big heater near the outside seats so it's super warm at night, which I appreciated. Restroom available and complimentary station for water. They have a variety of menu combinations with a simple concept - chicken and waffles! Chicken waffle tacos, sweet desserts, chicken tenders and (surprisingly good) waffle fries... I got the classic chicken and waffles for around $15, and it was genuinely great. I'm from the South and I think this was the best I've had for real. They also give you a complimentary mini bottle of maple syrup with certain entrees, which makes a great souvenir or party favor in our case!! I had no expectations/wasn't sure how it would be for a big group, but it was the perfect spot for our celebration and we will definitely be back!! read more

Hands down best chicken and waffles in California!!!!! Some of the best Mac and cheese I've ever had also!!! The food here is amazing and come here pretty often when I'm in town. This is one of my favorite restaurants by far!!!!!!! I always order the original which is a chicken and waffle sandwich with slaw and my gf always orders the chicken and waffles. We also ALWAYS order the large Angry Mac and Cheese with bacon and chives which is shareable between 2 people.( Mac and cheese is amazing!!!!!) They also have different items on the menu to choose from but those are always our go to. They do get a lot of foot traffic and does take about 15-20 mins to receive your food but definitely worth the wait!!!! The place is very clean, chill vibes, and seating can be limited at times. A must visit if you're visiting California or just looking for a new place to try! read more

My kids love coming here with their friends and they always rave about how good it is. I finally came with my kids and they were not lying about how amazing this place is! I got the original and it was sweet and juicy! I also tried the Mac and cheese and a piece of the waffle and Nutella with strawberries. Everything was amazing and I can't wait to come back. Forgot to take pics!!! But this place was good! Needed a quick bite to eat and we saw this restaurant. Service was fast but also seemed like they were Slammed so it was a little crazy but still worth it. We got the Nashville and original chicken sandwich and enjoyed both equally. I used to come here for waffle and fried chicken drizzled in hot honey. Same location but I feel like there is a big difference in staff. The bathroom is really dirty! For a restaurant on 2nd street promenade you should be ashamed. Large room but doesn't have toilet paper and messy all around... The staff also doesn't seem to knowledgeable on the foodstuffs. The entire kitchen staff is Mexican and they made the ice coffee wrong. Something needs to change... read more

Came here for a quick bite while shopping. Ordered The Original, and it was much better than I expected! The chicken was juicy and crispy, and the waffle was soft but had a light crisp to it. There was no one in line and it still took some time to make the sandwich. Definitely worth checking out if the lines not long. read more

If you're looking for a good first chicken and waffle sandwich in the area, Bruxie has that box checked. Moist tender chicken with a good fry on the outside. Seasoned well with some sweetness from the syrup. Waffle was fine but worked well with the chicken as it didn't dominate the flavor profile. Plenty of indoor seating and patio seating. We really love the food here. Normally I won't choose fried foods when we are out but today my nephew asked to eat here while shopping at the Promenade. So we all agreed. I was pleasantly surprised how good the food tasted. Not too much grease and everything seasoned right. I got a grilled chicken salad that was super delicious. Again I was surprised how good it was. I also had a bite of the hot chicken sandwich and loved it. No aftertaste, no saggy fried texture or flavor. The food was five star for me but the place looked very messy. Dirty tables and floors, unorganized counters. Probably shortage of staff , I don't know. We asked the employees if they can clean some tables so we can sit but they didn't seem to care to act fast. Customer service was ok but not the best. Overall a good place to eat at while in the area or if you are craving fried chicken. read more

I asked for a sausage patty and received a burnt hamburger patty after they originally messed up my order 3 times and still forgot my fries. They did not say sorry or offer a refund after waiting for an hour. Their excuse was because it was "busy" even though there were 3 parties dining in. I am not mad just very disappointed with the service provided. I will not be coming back to this location. read more

This was delicious. I loved it. When I saw the long line I knew it had to be good. This is what I want when I get chicken tenders. The restaurant was clean for how busy it was. I would absolutely go back and try something more!! read more
