When in high school, I worked at a local McDonalds for years. I had a great time and still think of it a lot particularly since I had the pleasure to meet Ray Kroc and had a very engaged conversation about his standards. It's been a LONG time since I've been to any McDonalds. But this location tucked away on Pico Blvd in West Los Angeles on the edge of Santa Monica is one of the nicer locations. My number one draw is they have fantastic ice coffee for 1.99 they also offer nice outdoor seating which I usually find all to myself. Why pay more? As far as the food goes it is what it is. McDonald's. Fast food. A once in a while indulgence. Some of the reviews expect a little too much. The workers are all really nice and hard working. The place is also always clean. My most recent trip to this McDonald's they ended up forgetting my drink and I had to wait about 5-10 minutes to get their attention, the guy didn't even realize he had forgotten it. On top of that when I was ordering I asked for a chocolate milkshake and they said their ice cream machine was broken however while I was waiting for my drink I saw them making McFlurrys and milkshakes. The worst McDonald's by far! I ordered the 2 cheeseburger meal with a 6 pc chx nugget. The cheeseburgers were missing the ketchup with pickles. I had to go back and ask them to pls add it in; the kid in the kitchen thought it was funny. The cashier was nice to address the team to please make them how they're suppose to be to avoid customers having to return so I appreciated that. Got him and then noticed a black hair in my fries - threw them out immediately. My coke and nuggets were fine. This is now my second visit where I have to return because the quality isn't good. We had a huge meeting in Westlake that felt like it went on forever, so my wife wanted to drive through Malibu after. I told her it's kinda ugly after the fires she didn't believe me. We drove through... and yeah, I was right. Not much has changed. We ended up at this McDonald's, and no lie it took 30 minutes just to take the order. The girl in the BMW in front of us took 15 minutes, but it wasn't even her fault it was the girl taking the orders. She moved slower than a sloth in a snowstorm. When it's finally my turn, I order something simple 30 seconds, tops and she still gets it wrong. I'm sitting there like, "Damn, can't even take a simple instruction?" Then I pull up to the window, and the BMW girl is still there complaining about her order being wrong too. I just smiled and shook my head. I tell the cashier my order's wrong, and she tries to correct me like, "Are you the customer or am I?" Then I pay, ask for ketchup, and the guy says "OK" and hands me the bag. Looked fine, so we drove off. Five minutes later, my wife opens her food no ketchup. She was mad, I was tired, and all I could do was laugh. Two stars for the comedy show, not the service. read more

I hate this mcdonald's so bad. Every time I come the workers are rude and have an attitude. They always take forever to take your order and give you your food. I just want to give a shoutout to John the manager on duty Saturday morning. There was an issue on their end with my mobile order app. I was trying to go through drive thru to make it quick but ended up having to go inside to talk to someone since the drive through cashier was unable to help me. John quickly and efficiently assessed the problem and had it resolved in less than a min. I thanked him and he literally said "just trying to make sure you have a good day Miss.". If there's one phrase that I could use to describe my experience here it would definitely be I'm Lovin It! Out of all Mcdonald's locations I've been to, this one probably gave me the best ice cream ever. I came through the drive thru around 10 pm and there was no line. I was able to redeem some points through the app for a free ice cream. I didn't expect anything since every time I come to any Mcdonald's location their ice cream machine is always broken. Luckily, the ice cream machine worked here! I'd like to add that the girl at the drive thru was also very kind. My soft serve vanilla cone was more than I could ask for. They did not fulfill my order correctly, instead I got less. Ordered one Double Quarter Pounder and 10-Piece Chicken Nugget and this is what I received: I checked my order before leaving the premise, got 8 pieces of Chicken Nuggets even though box says '10-Piece'. My sandwich says 'Double Quarter Pounder' on the box so assuming it is ok and correct. I quickly went back in and they replaced my nugget with 10pcs. Great, right...? I left and later found out that my Double Quarter Pounder was a REGULAR 'Quarter Pounder', and NOT a 'Double' as paid for. I thought it looked small and when I double-check the sandwich closely it only had ONE patty! Even though the box says 'Double Quarter Pounder'. I couldn't fathom the thought, either they ripped customers off here or the people they employed are serious retards - albeit getting paid more than $17/hr! So furious beyond believe since I do not live in the area (I live in Pasadena) and couldn't go back. I've already contacted McDonald's headquarter regarding the issue. Not much help there and this is how they respond: "Hello (name): Thank you for taking the time to contact McDonald's to bring your concerns to our attention. We take your comments very seriously and because we are a franchised organization, we have immediately forwarded them to the franchise owner of the restaurant you visited. To start off, I had ordered a small fry and snack wrap. It had already been around 15 minutes of standing around and waiting so I politely asked the manager on the floor how much longer it would be for my order. He glanced over at me for a fraction of a second then quickly turned around telling me to just wait. I was completely caught off guard with his rudeness. I then proceed to ask him again how long and he gave me a snarky response telling me people were before me when I could clearly see my order number on the computer in front of him. He had been skipping my order to give out others. He then proceeds to go back and forth with me in a disgusting attitude for a manager. I then proceeded to ask him for his name and he responded with Carlos. He was a young hefty Hispanic man. He had a blue button up shirt with a tie on. Generally nice and friendly staff, but don't expect to get anything close to what you ordered in the drive thru. Went there to pick up a mobile order. Was placed into the 1st pick up lane when I got to the window, and about 4 cars passed while I was there. These people were not there for mobile orders as I'd heard them ordering in the drive thru. You'd expect them to have mobile orders ready before being able to complete orders of people just showing up. Then they were "out of honey" but really it was all of the sauces that I ordered besides buffalo sauce (please be completely transparent) meaning they were out of ranch, sweet and sour, and regular honey and they were out of the drink I ordered as well. This location is conveniently located, that's the only positive thing I really have to say. With the majority of my visits at this location, service is indeed very slow. I would not visit this location if you are pressed for time. I like taking advantage of the deals on the app, but when I tried to use them at the drive through, the app glitched and said something along the lines of, "reload the app" and, "there aren't any deals in your area". On top of that, whenever I ask an employee a question regarding the app, they either cannot answer my question or I get the look of, "you're holding up the line". It's frustrating for both parties when it's supposed to be the opposite. read more
