I'm surprised to see such a low rating for this location. McDonald's wouldn't be my first choice, but their filet-o-Fish sandwiches are definitely my guilty pleasure! Was here this weekend and they were out of certain things the kids wanted. We ordered other meals and when we received our food I was told sauces were extra so I paid for 4 extra sauces because you only get one with meals now. Then we didn't receive any ketchup or napkins. Im like do you have to specifically ask for everything now because I got a drink with no straw and had to ask. My fries were cold and burger was not put together well. Looked as if it was thrown in the box from far away. My wife ordered a chicken sandwich it was literally the bread, one piece of chicken and one pickle. NOTHING else inside ‍. Who does that and is willing to still put it in a box and say it is ready. This location needs improvement or more oversight. read more

Ok so I had a bad experience the other day when using the app. I decided to try again to see if it was a one off or do they consistently have poor service. Today's service was worse than before. Not only did I order ahead, and pay, but staff was rude. They only started order once I arrived. I would have been as good just to do old way and order when I arrive. After putting order in counter, I looked in bag and no ketchup. I asked the guy for ketchup since no self service option. He said I'll be with in a minute. Started taking another persons order and then got ketchup . Learned my lesson. This McDonald's dies not care about service. The food however tasted good. Will never use app again. read more

As soon as I walked in, it was loud with teenagers. The tables were a mess, some still had food wrappers left from the previous customers. It's like people don't know how to clean up after themselves which is an embarrassment to society. I ordered my food and waited. When I got to my car, I took a sip of my drink and it was warm even though it had plenty of ice in the cup. This leads me to believe that the dispenser needs to be calibrated and serviced for maintenance. I don't normally eat from a big chain, I prefer to order from a small business but I needed something quick before heading out. If I could give this zero stars I would. I decided to come into the store because I saw how long the drive thru line was. That was my first mistake. I placed my order at 9:57a I was waiting there for a half hour to get my food. For them to tell me they were out of orange juice, they gave me a frappe for the inconvenience. I got home and realized they gave me a sausage bagel instead of the bacon bagel. My husband found plastic pieces in his sausage egg McMuffin. I don't come here expecting fine cuisine; so I'm not gonna complain about the food. They recently remodeled this restaurant so it looks nice from the outside; however that doesn't carry on to the inside. Despite the new furniture, this place always looks dingy and everything from the floor to the trash cans would benefit from a good scrub. We rarely ever come during peak hours (bc I hate waiting in lines) and yet this place always looks like a hurricane blew threw the inside. Besides that, my order is rarely ever right. Everything must be double-checked before leaving drive thru because they'll always forget something. I will say that every employee I've encountered there seems kind, and is quick to correct whatever is wrong, but it gets old having an issue every visit. All that being said, the kids love coming here and I'm an iced coffee addict, so until Shafter gets an alternative quick-fix coffee shop, I'll keep coming. read more

This place is literally the shittiest ran McDonald's. There has been multiple time when I have ordered more than one of an item but only get one. I recently got the app to make ordering easier and I ordered a size iced coffee but they give it to me one size smaller. Other McDonald's don't have this problem, when I order a large iced coffee I get a large not a medium. The craziest part is that they still charge led me for a large the size I wanted to get. People who do bad reviews have never worked fast food, especially the entitled ones. This mcdonald's run's great with what they got, considering they're constantly understaffed. Most time customers order things incorrectly, and blame it on the employees. Countless times, i've seen customers blame employees for things they mess up on, and a lot of the times, the customer doesn't even pay attention. Mistakes happen, so think how would you feel if the roles were reversed, and you got yelled at for making a simple mistake. People need to learn how to be more patient and treat workers with more respect since they're the ones serving you. read more

Plus the 30 minute time allowance on being there is soo dumb considering most of the time they get the order wrong and it takes more than 30 minutes to get it all right. This place is even worse after the remodel. They put in an extra drive thru kiosk so you would THINK that things would move pretty quickly, but I've sat in that drive thru 20 minutes without it even moving. The McDonald's on Coffee and Hageman is just as busy with two kiosks as well, and the longest I've ever waited was 5 minutes. Whatever. Waiting that long wouldn't be such a big deal if in the end you were getting even mediocre customer service. EVERY single time I come to this ridiculous establishment, the employees are always rude, short, and unprofessional. I work in customer service- so I understand how they might be feeling sometimes. But guess what, without customers, you have no business. There is no reason to not greet a customer when they arrive. No reason you can't simply turn to the customer and apologize if you're backed up and let them know it will be a moment. Instead, these employees act inconvenienced any time a customer approaches them. They make you sit and wait outside the window while they try to figure out how to take someone's order (and still manage to screw it up, imagine that) and then when they open the window to help you, they're afraid to look you in the eyes and throw your money through the window practically. I've given this place so many chances and I will give them this: things have changed. But it's for the worse. They're not improving anywhere. What a shame because it could be fixed so easily but none of the employees care enough and the management obviously doesn't care either if they're not expecting and enforcing that attitude from their employees. read more
