Twice in one week, my order has been made incorrectly and I don't want to complain about it because they make me feel like you're trying to get a free meal out of them. This location is terrible. I ordered a quarter pounder and it was not fresh cooked to order. I asked for a manager and the person I spoke with said that they were too busy to cook it to order and didn't seem to care at all. The other issue is that I ordered my meal to be delivered to my numbered table. They just put the tray out at the counter by the register and walked away. The Vernon Hills location is deplorable and no one cares, no one speaks English, or if they do it's limited at best. When you order, it's one of two ways, wrong or cold. Last week I ordered the 5-dollar meal and that was wrong, You tell me when you only have two choices, burger or chicken you can screw that up? Well, she did. This location hasn't had a working phone number for months despite this location being here and having the same phone number for at least 20 years. I even called McDonalds corporate to ask why. Their answer 'We're not sure why". Good luck trying to figure out when and if the lobby is open. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. I went in the restaurant for breakfast. The place was empty and dark. The menu was not working properly. When I got my order it was extremely greasy for a bagel sandwich. I got the orange juice instead of coffee. The juice was orange pulp water, no flavor whatsoever. I didn't even get napkins in the bag. Didn't even have any out in the service area. Had to ask them for some. I hope management will read this and make some changes. read more

Last time when I went to this location, I ordered 3 additional ranch sauces ( now McDonalds started to charge for sauces), it was not in the bag. Today, when I ordered the food, I mentioned that and asked not to charge for same number of sauces ordered this time. Cashier( fair guy with glasses) refused and said will have to charge for the sauces. Why would someone lie for a 25 cents sauce? anyway I went ahead and ordered the sauces. At the pickup, I specifically asked if sauces were present in the bag, she put something in the bag and said yes. when I went home and opened the bag, only one sauce was present. This has happened two times in a row. Now who would go back to the outlet for two sauces again. I ordered 2 happy meals for the kids and at the window spoke to the manager, Nepolean Dynamite, to make sure the apple slices are in the boxes. He check and said "all in there." I typically order through the McDonalds app to take advantage of a deal and have it delivered curbside to avoid as much human interaction as possible. I've done this at several McDonalds and it is typically super fast and they bring it right to your car. At about 15 minutes I decided to just go in and get it myself. The door was locked and the manager then laughed at me for trying to come in. I then gestured to my car in the curbside pickup that I was waiting and they brought my order to me at the door. I asked the employee how long it was sitting there and he said probably 10 minutes. That really annoyed me and I asked why they didn't bring it out to me as requested through the app and he said I should have gone through the drive through, which makes no sense because that defeats the purpose of the online app ordering and curbside pickup. Came here for a quick bite around 10PM. We ordered through mobile app and used Apple Pay for the payment. Came around the drive thru and was about to pick up order when the woman at the window said we needed to pay for it. My husband explained that we ordered through the app and we used Apple Pay to pay for it already. She said "it says here you have to pay" and we explain again we already paid for it on the phone. She wouldn't look it up or ask for a manager, so we said screw it, it's like 3 bucks for our order we will just give her our credit card. She swiped the card and it declined. We gave her a second card...it declined. A lil sus from being declined 3 times for a $3 meal...then we said maybe it declined because we already paid for it. She didn't believe us. Already stressed from holding up the line, we gave her the third card. It declined again. She finally went to go get the manager. The manager came over and punched in some buttons and responded "Oh it's already been paid for. You guys can go.". What the heck? No apology, nothing. I've eaten at this mcdonalds once a week for years. The slip in quality over the last few months has been extreme. I've regularly waited in a drive thru line of at least ten minutes. The people working the drive thru constantly ask me to repeat myself and I still have to correct them when the input the wrong item on the order screen. I only visit the drive-thru at this location. The food is typically hot and fresh, although there were a few times when the fries were ice cold. Overall, this location does well. The customer service is better than most locations and the food quality is average; not above average but average which is a better rating than some of the other suburban locations that I have frequented. read more
