Before this was the best location, now it's so shitty. Cashiers that are taking our orders are fine, they always get my order correct but when it comes to getting my actual food, NOPE. Fries are always plain, no salt and I like my fries with salt. Even if I say extra salt cause I know they never put salt, it's still plain. It's a sunny Saturday morning in Hawaii. This location is right across from the beaches. We stopped here for an Oatmeal on our way to the beach. The drive thru was wrapped so I thought it would be faster to go inside. Not Even! The manager, bless her heart was bagging for the Dt- screen full 12 plus orders as well as bagging for Front counter- 10 plus orders. I only got an Oatmeal, plain no fruits. After watching Elijah take 3 more customers after me. He steps over and continues to wipe trays as all of us are standing and awaiting our orders. My beliefs went from customer to management real quick. I stepped over and asked Elijah why he would be cleaning trays with all of us standing. He should be helping his manager service us. Elijah said that it's not his job to do that. He's only to take orders and clean trays. I stepped back and awaited to see what would happen next. After 15 min, I called John and told him that I wasn't lost in space but I really wanted this Oatmeal so please bare with me. More customers came in. We're all still awaiting. Last guy ordered 1 large black coffee and the young man didn't even fix it. At this moment, I had enough. I asked them how long does it take to get a plain Oatmeal. Then I got serviced. Not before I offered some coaching to the manager. As to what she could have young Elijah do to help her provide better service to others. Luckily, Elijah was assisting customers as I walked away. Our staff will only do what we as Management allow or ask them to do. As a Food Service Provider, it is our job to provide customers with Fast, Friendly and Quailty Service. Today was beyond ridiculous. First off the line for drive thru was crazy bad (8 cars before the menu board) so I opted to walk in. We get inside where the line has 7 people waiting in line to order and many more waiting, I decided to lessen their load and ordered off automated board. As we're all waiting a fight breaks out with employees in the back. (*no big deal) long story short 17min later my order number was finally called, I walked up to get order and it's WRONG not only are they missing three things plus any sauces for nuggets, they failed to make special request, and also forgot toys in happy meals. This place needs to train their employees better especially during peak times such as this. No one wants to sit in drive thru to find out their order was taken wrong. It's a hit or miss. Usually it's a miss. As one of the only fast food restaurants (KFC is two minutes away) it's the only place you'll probably get food that's familiar because everything else is just too far. This McDonalds is in the same lot as Sac N Save, the only grocery store until you hit Tamuras in Waianae. That means that there's a ton of parking in its surrounding area. Even the drive thru has two lanes to order. In the morning there their regular old folks who come in to enjoy their coffee and egg me muffins. In the afternoons it's probably filled with students hanging out or with their parents eating. At night, well who's there may be a surprise. Lol The Nanakuli McDonalds hires a lot of students who need jobs so they can spend it on Friday or Saturday nights out with their friends. So they call off. Minus one star. That means their production becomes slow and you're waiting for your fast food to become slow food. Minus one star. So, I warned you. That doesn't mean that they're not all genuine, the older workers and the managers, are very respectful and you can definitely see how hard they work, picking up the slack of the millennials (minus one star) and they have a relationship with the regulars here at McDonalds. The food? This is McDonalds. In Hawaii. So you can expect deliciously fried taro pies and hot greasy Portuguese sausage, egg, and rice. So stop by because there's not much you can get that takes you through drive thru for a few miles out. I dont know if its because I came at 9pm but this place was ridiculous... My boyfriend and I came here for a pit stop on our way to Makaha Resort... We were standing in line, waiting to place our order, and the workers move so slow!!! I dont know if ALL of them were new or what.. There was about 6-7 workers in the back and yet the cashiers still had to grab all the food for the orders.. When it was finally our turn to order.. The girl looked like she could be doing something more important than helping us.. We asked to cancel one thing on our order and she said she had to start ALL OVER and started pounding on the register. Um, excuse me? Its not like we cancelled our WHOLE order and I've been to other mcdonalds and they do NOT have to start all over if you want to remove one item from your order.. From that point on, her attitude was even worse then it was when we first started, but hey, kill them with sweetness. The wait for our food was ridiculous. For Chicken Mcnuggets and fries we had to wait ten minutes. What the flip?? By that time, the girl that took our order was moving really slow, slow enough that there was a long line of people wanting to order.. The workers during the day do a terrible job and some of them give you attitude! Every time I go here I only have a problem with my order during the day because they intend to get my order wrong and sometimes forget to charge me with something. They work to slow and I'm surprised the managers don't care how they're are working, they always want their workers to rush the customers order so they can move on to the next one and to be honest I see a lot of customers complaining how they forget something in their order. I passed by around 330ish.....so its well after the lunch rush but there was still a line for the drive thru. I decided to take the left lane drive thru, and it turns out that I chose the wrong one. I dont understand why there are 2 drive thru lanes here, yet the right side lane goes faster than the left side. You would think it would take orders for left lane, then right, then left, then right...but NOPE! At one point, 3 cars from the right lane went ahead before 1 car went from the left! Is it confusing? Finally they open another but still took forever to get our food. But, I've read all the reviews for Nanakuli McDonald's and waz surprised by all the negative comments. I've NEVER had a problem here. This evening I ordered my children dinner from Kapolei McDonalds and once we were on our way home realized they got my daughters food was incorrect. I called Nanakuli McDonald's to see if they would be able to correct the order (who wants to drive back to Kapolei when you are on your way home to Waianae). I spoke with the manager Kristy. She was amazing. Polite, professional, understanding and kind. After a long day of work the last thing I needed to deal with was trying to figure out what to now feed my child. We literally asked for the manager four different times to four different people and no one knew where he was. I don't know if the time of day plays a part in the wait but we spent over 30 minutes in the drive thru on a Sunday afternoon at 2:00. This location has two ordering lines. I'm not confident saying this helps. The service here is extremely slow. By the time we get our order the ice is melted in our drinks, the fries are cold and stale and the ice cream is melted like a milkshake. Although we love McDonald's ..today at the nanakuli McDonald's we had the worst experience of customer service. First,the way the lady stacked our food wasn't steady and our food almost fell, while I was worried about dropping food our drink fell off the tray and all over the table and floor and no one offered to help clean it.. My fiancée who is a wheelchair has to assist me in cleaning the table, chairs and floor. There was a worker on his break I guess and he didn't even offer to help us.
