After my daughters and I had lunch at Haven City Market in West Covina (HCM WC), my youngest daughter needed some water. For some reason, there are no water stations at HCM WC. I may have to make a suggestion for them next time I am there. Anyway, this McDonald's was nearby so we came here for some water. Of course, I had to buy something and not just ask for water. I went through the drive-thru. I ended up getting either chicken nuggets or apple pies plus the waters. The first 2 items are my daughters favorites besides the McFlurry ice cream which we didn't get this time around. Staff at the window was friendly. Payment was easy. We got our order fairly quickly. This place is close to the 10 Fwy so easy to get to and leave from. Definitely will return should we need a quick hit of chicken nuggets, apple pies, McFlurry, and water. This review is for Brittany only (hopefully we spelled her name correctly). She was incredibly sweet and friendly. Working night shifts can sometimes be challenging, but she immediately greeted us with the warmest smile when we walked up to the front counter. It made us feel genuinely welcomed which has never happened before. Service was excellent and we received our meals pretty quick. We've been to many other McDonald's, and unfortunately, the experience is usually negative or indifferent - often met with attitude and inadequate customer service. I went here twice, first time on 12/14/24 & again 12/28/24. The 1st time I thought maybe they are remodeling & that was why they didn't have menus up on the wall like all other McDonalds, soda machine had no cover both times. On my 2nd visit it looked the same, luckily I knew what I wanted. I used the restroom after having to wait for it to be cleaned. When I went in I thought great it's clean. It was a 1/2 ass clean w/hair in the sink, toilet was wet as if they used a mop to wipe it & it smelled just gross & not clean. They no longer have a baby changing area in the restroom so if you have to change your little ones #2, I guess you just have to smell up the dinning room! If I could give this specific McDonald's negative 5 stars I would. They always get the orders wrong and if you say something you're the one who is the problem. The managers are basically useless and make no attempt of trying to right the wrong. The only reason my family has continued coming to this McDonald's is out of convenience. One thing I'd say the employees here excel at is giving attitude. OMG I've never had anyone treated me the way "she" did! I was charged for my mobile meal for curbside pickup... After 15 minutes of waiting I decided to go in and it took about 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. Everyone ignored me and finally I had to ask for the manager and she was actually right next to me the whole time and it was this person in the picture. She then instead of helping me tells me, "I'm not talking to you, we did not charge you," and goes on to ignore me all in the while they did charge me and never gave me my food. The drive through At this location window is still busted and I clearly understand why. The service here is terrible and I understand other customers frustrations. I dont understand why I alway come to this location and receive cold fries and food. After the third time I had to have a genuine 1on1 with the employee. Simply PUT YOURSELVES IN THE CUSTOMERS SHOES. And remember you are one everyday almost everywhere. How would u feel to get served cold spaghetti, cold steak at a 5star, cold chili frees fries or cold pizza where the cheese ain't melting. In the past I requested for my food to be fresh and the employee gave me sass and negative energy. This review doesn't full depict my frustration at this location. I've told my friends about my experiences and explain the perspective as a manger who cared so much about driving positive business metrics (which customer service driven fyi in all/ most cases) and the disconnect with the companies goal to excel and drive dollars. This is a late review but in Dec 2023, I stopped by this location to pick up a meal for a friend. My issue and I have attached pics, was that the french fries cone that i purchased appeared to be half full. I approached an employee at the counter and showed him this, he said that's how they all come and if I wanted more that I could purchase another. I asked for the manager, the employee went to the back of the restaurant and never came back. I had to leave! The place was fairly busy and I noticed that the employees were kind of ignoring request from customers that had already purchased their food. The staff could care less about customer service but more so about just being there because they have to collect a pay check. And to think that these people will be making $20 an hr in a couple of months. And of course, the consumer will have to pay more for their meals...if that's the case then the french fries cones should be full. I can see why there are so many negative reviews for this location.
