I visited this In-N-Out just off the freeway last Thursday around 2 p.m., and I was really surprised. it wasn't busy at all! I had only used the drive-thru before so this time going inside was a completely different experience. There were plenty of parking spots, and the staff was working incredibly hard. you could tell the manager was really on top of everything. The store was bright, spotless, and had these nice big windows where you can see the freeway and cars passing by. The dining area was super clean though I'm not sure if it's always like that, since most In-N-Outs get messy quickly. My food was classic In-N-Out. It was so good and Oscar, the cashier, was super friendly, always smiling. He did forget my shake at first, but he apologized and quickly got it for me. I had a burger, fries, and a shake. everything was delicious, especially those mustard fried patties I got protein-style. In n Out is tried and true and was the "just right" thing to eat on a rainy day like yesterday. To boot, they give out hot cocoa to kids under 12 (only on rainy days), so this felt like a bonus for my daughter. While the drive thru line was loooong, indoor service was prompt! I'm very rarely at this In-N-Out since there are others closer to me or on the way back from further adventures, but I had no issues getting my classic double double combo with chopped chilis and extra spread for my fries. Like every In-N-Out, it can get quite busy, but they do their best to efficiently accommodate the customers, especially those in the drive thru. There are definitely smaller lots at different In-N-Outs, but this one can get a bit tricky with the crowds of people in their cars and the fact that it's hugged by a major freeway. Best bet is to just get your food to go or get it to go and eat it in your car at the nearby shopping plazas for a less stressful experience. The drive through set up was confusing to me. There wasn't any other cars waiting to order so no I couldn't see where a line could start or which window was open to order. There were no dividers or cones to guide to an open window. Once I figured it out, I ordered with a friendly cashier and the food came fairly quick. The burgers are solid and made well. I have been to this In-N-Out in West Covina a few times either for take-out or restroom use only, but never for drive-thru yet. It is conveniently located off of the 10 Fwy and Barranca Ave exit. It is a little smaller than most of the other In-N-Out locations. Parking lot is not that big. My go-to items are fries, shake, and lemonade. Since I stopped eating beef several years back, I don't eat burgers anymore. I do miss the In-N-Out burgers though. At least I can have their yummy fries... they are the best! Always freshly made with fresh ingredients. I have recently discovered... thanks to another Y* friend... that they do have a grill cheese basically everything on it except the hamburger patty. I've driven by this in n out many times especially that you can see it off the freeway. This is the first time I actually went inside. The parking lot is fairly tiny considering how large the building itself actually is. When I first walked in I was shocked how large it actually is. This location must be able to accommodate a lot of guests dining in but they will have difficulty finding parking. In-N-Out is an establishment here in Southern California. You can't go wrong with the burgers here although the fries are controversial. One new secret menu item that I recently learned about is being able to get chopped chillies in the burger so it adds that extra kick of tang and heat. Not sure how I didn't know about this but look up the secret menu for those looking for modifications of what is an iconic burger. Jurupa Valley is what they're calling this area now, sounds lot better than it really is if you're in the know, but this particular location is actually one of the better-placed one in terms of access. Only one way in and out and people still manage to crash and miss trying to turn in, at least that was the case on our second to last visit. Like most locations their drive-thru has two lanes and they have more outdoor seating than most, which isn't always a blessing because the wind here is often stiffer than other places. Overall, the employees here have a good attitude and friendly demeanor, which is important considering how busy they get. It's an old school structure so prepare to fork away from the feeder lanes and beware of the tight, congested parking lot. There's an unpaved, much larger lot nearby but it's not level or groomed. To date I've never had a bad food experience and the Special Menu requests have always been honored and well executed. I've also been here far more times than the pictures or check-ins reveal. Neither the greatest nor the worst, this slightly isolated location enjoys a fastfood monopoly. read more
