    Cheese burger

After seeing this place on instagram I finally decided to try it. Food overall was good. Service was good, the cashier had a good attitude and was friendly. She cleaned our table and brought our food straight to us. Place is like a classic diner, felt old school. Overall good experience but wouldn't put it above similar spots

I love a good mom and pop burger spot and gd burgers is exactly that. This family owned restaurant is located close to the corner of Orange and Amar, with ample parking. I have ordered the chili cheese fires and the chili cheese tater tots, as well as the hamburger combo and you can't go wrong with any of those. They have jamaica, orange bang, and I believe Horchata too. Service is great and the food always comes out fast. I love stopping by here whenever I am on this side of La Puente. Check them out and give their chili cheese fries a try! I posted a picture of the chili cheese tots for reference.

Haven't been here in 10+ years. I remember it being good but not this good.... I took my son to try the teriyaki bowls but once he saw the menu, he went a way direction. We orders a breakfast burger and loaded tots. It was amazing. I've never ordered anything besides teriyaki here and now I feel like I need to try everything on their menu... The guy at the window was friendly and described everything on the menu so delicious making us a little skeptical.., but it ended up being very delicious. I've been going to the place down the street, but I guess we got a new spot. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back!

Date of visit: January 16, 2025 Selections: Cheeseburger Strong Fries Experience: Went here for lunch with a co-worker since we were intrigued by the idea of a place selling burgers and fried rice. The place looked a bit rundown from the outside and we weren't sure if it was open inside for dine in because there were chairs on top of tables. But we eventually noticed there were customers sitting inside upon closer inspection through the window. The menu not only had fried rice and burgers but also tater tots, fries, and even a breakfast menu. I ended up getting a cheeseburger and splitting some strong fries with my co-worker. We ordered outside and sat down inside where there was a mural dedicated to Kobe Bryant and the seating was a mixture of booths and tables. Not the greatest looking furniture and decor inside, but at least staff seemed friendly as we waited for our order. Our order took about 40 minutes to be done, which was surprising since the customers before us had their order already and there was only one other customer that came in waiting for their order. But at least when the food came out and we dug right in it was worth the wait. I was surprised they brought out burgers on individual plates and the fries in a to-go box and I was able to get a cup of water with my meal too. The cheeseburger tasted like your typical burger, but it was the strong fries that convinced me we should come again. The strong fries was their spicy version of fries that came with bacon, jalapeños, onions, cheese, and spicy mayo, which was a great combo on top of the fries being crispy too. We definitely would come back again for more fries and to try out their fried rice too.

Looking for a place that made breakfast burritos. Our "go to" place isn't as good as it once was. G&D Burgers was a featured restaurant so I bookmarked the location. Ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon. Hubby thought it was a bit pricey for what you got. The burrito was nothing special, but they add pico de gallo inside which gave it a small kick in flavor. Can't say I'd make a special trip to come back. Maybe their burgers are better...but I've got a great place for burgers in Altadena.

    Inside- Kobe Bryant mural :)

I always love supporting family-owned, local spots, and this burger and teriyaki joint has a lot of charm--even if there are a few things that could be improved. Food: I tried their teriyaki bowl, which came in a generous portion, but it was a bit too salty for my taste. That said, it's a hearty meal that could definitely satisfy a big appetite. The breakfast burger was my favorite--juicy, flavorful, and cooked just right. However, at $11 without fries or a drink, it felt a little pricey for what you get. There are definitely better value options elsewhere, but the flavor was solid. Service: The service was warm and welcoming. You can tell it's a family-run operation, and they treat their customers with kindness. I appreciated that they take phone orders, which makes things convenient if you're in a rush. Ambiance: The interior definitely shows its age--torn seats and outdated decor--but there's something nostalgic about it. What really stands out is the beautiful Kobe Bryant mural inside. It gives the place a lot of character and shows the pride they have in being part of the community. Final Thoughts: While the food and value may not wow everyone, I respect what this family-owned spot brings to the table: heart, hospitality, and a local touch. If you're nearby and want to support a mom-and-pop business, it's worth checking out. Just set your expectations accordingly, and you might find a few menu gems that keep you coming back.

Was craving a steak sandwich looked on yelp they said this was the best place to get one in the area lies! the restaurant was completely empty placed our order at the window Got a steak sandwich combo and a cheeseburger combo They said they would bring it to the car took about 15 min Gentleman brought it to the car was nice We took it to the park to eat and I was so disappointed Steak sandwich was literally on a sandwich bread and it had cheese!!! The tomatoes were so mushy and a weird red color it was awful I tried key word tried to take a bit after removing tomato and cheese the meat was so tough couldn't even bit into it!! By this point I was grossed out! Meat was so bad no flavor and was like leather The cheeseburger was flavorless, bun was old Fries were okay I will never go back to this place again I don't understand how the yelp reviews were praising this place. I hate that I have to give my review and it's so bad

Fries were too crispy.. maybe reused tomato seems sawgy.

Burger was good. Got a protein style burger. Good taste. The servíce was good. The ambiance not good. The place is falling apart. They didn't have coffee. The fries were overcooked. The tomato's were somewhat mushy. My Diet Coke didn't have gas. Hmm will I go back? No. But we're in bad times right now. Just still searching for that bomb burger fries and drink.

    That's a good deal (November 2024)

I'm always interested in mom and pop burger places and this place looked very interesting on Yelp. While I've only tried the burger side of the menu (and the burgers delivered against expectations), the breakfast burritos (and breakfast burger) along with the teriyaki bowls do look very interesting. Perhaps next time? They have an A rating but the interior is very run down and looks like the 80s. I think most people order food to go? But, they have flatscreen TVs with digital menus as the only modern touch. I was happy with the burgers and the fact that you can get tater tots instead of fries on the combos. I ordered the fried zucchini as the other mom and pop burger places that I frequent make them fresh. Sadly, the ones here are frozen and you can taste it. So, skip the zucchini. Get onion rings if you want something besides fried potatoes. Check out my pics.

They turned all the burnt ones upside down so that I couldn't tell it until I started tasting them and flipping them over. Dude really?
    Mario M.

The food was just okay. I had to wait for a long time for a small order. I use to stop by when I was younger but they reminded me why I stopped coming in. The food was lukewarm and the onion rings for some reason where burnt but barely warm. I don't understand why?

I ordered a double cheeseburger with grilled onions and a side of onion rings. So yes, the food was piping hot! By the time I got home, though, the burger had sweated-out and looked a little sad, and it also had a slightly off-putting grill odor that didn't thankfully did not transfer to the burger's taste. The burger was prepared with two beef patties, two slices of cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, all on a toasted bun. Next time I will order a single cheeseburger because the double was just too big. All that mattered to me was that the burger was tasty! I got an entire bag of onion rings... no skimping here! The rings were not pretty-looking, but they were definitely hot, crispy, and delicious. I will be returning to try their steak sandwich next!

Unfortunately, I was quite limited due to my food allergies. But I was able to get some grilled salmon from Kai Don. Staff here were friendly and helpful. I would recommend that they don't overcook the Salmon though, because it can get too dry. Otherwise, it was tasty, with several different sauces available. There was a sushi bar, with interesting rolls but not Japanese run, and they don't use Panko batter for their tempura...so it made the spider roll a bit too dense.
