One time it took about 15 minutes to get through with driving straight to the ordering screen to provide my code. A little difficult to maneuver in the morning with a Shell station connected (why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars), but worth it. The restaurant is clean and bright. It's also warm inside and the line inside is easier than the long drive through lane. When they saw the line inside, a second cashier opened up. He was friendly and efficient. Our two McMuffin sandwiches came up incredibly fast, and they were hot and delicious. This was a good choice for breakfast on our road trip home. Me and my husband went through this morning to get breakfast, charged our card, took money out of our account then tried to tell us the card declined. Our order was originally $12.01. Tried to run it AGAIN for $15.01. Handed us back our card and refused to give us our food. We came through the other night and they charged us for someone else's $50 order when ours was only $16. Hands down the WORST customer service I have ever received in my 58 years of living. We just drove through McDonalds in Cherokee, NC. We ordered a couple of combo meals. One with Diet Coke and one with UNsweet tea, extra ice and NO lemon. We notice on the board it said "add 2 lemon" so we drove up to the window right away and told the cashier "no lemon in the unsweetened tea please." In her headpiece she told the front worker no lemon in the tea. We drove up to pick up our food and drinks and there is lemon in the SWEET tea. I have an allergy to citrus so just taking the lemon out is not an option. The cashier (who refused to give us her name) got very snotty with us and said she didn't have hardly any unsweet tea left as she showed us an almost empty coffee pot of tea. She dumped it in a cup and practically tossed it out the window to us and said, "here but it's not full." We asked her to fill it the rest of the way with ice and she did not like that. She didn't even speak to us as she threw the food bag out the drive thru window to us so hard that french fries flew out of the bag. I called out to the supervisor and told her what happened and she said she was sorry that she couldn't do anything about it because the owner and district managers told them not to discipline their employees. She said she is not even allowed to write anyone up because they can't find employees and they don't want to make the ones they have mad. This is the most ridiculous thing I have EVER heard! I would go hungry before I would ever patronize this McDonalds again. We, the customer, is not appreciated at all anymore by these types of establishments. Apparently, it would do me no good to call the store manager or probably even corporate and complain so the only power I have in this situation is to make sure everyone is aware of the kind of service you might receive should you go to this restaurant. I have managed restaurants in the past including McDonalds and there is not a chance in the world that I would ever be held hostage by my employees like that. I don't carry how shorthanded I was. These business owners need to remember that this pandemic and government handouts won't last forever and when it's done, they aren't going to have any customers because of this type of treatment. They consistently get the orders wrong, they do not seem to have any idea what the word "plain" means, and they are so stingy with bacon, you'd think they have to pay for it out of their own pocket.
