Cape Cod Gateway Airport - HYA

First impression: Wow! This is a small airport!…read more But it serves its function well in getting you to & from Hyannis area. Just the right size for a small municipal airport. Everything is within a short walking distance. The ticketing & bag check counters are there as you enter the main door. Turn left and it's a short distance to car rental desks. Turn right and you walk past the Island Grill and, then, the TSA screening area. Very compact. No shuttles, long walks to the gates, crowded TSA screening lines. Thus, the usual two-hours prior to domestic flights boarding times advice can be modified to about one hour. The major downside of sorts for those used to big metro area airports is the airport's schedules. The car rental counters close at six pm or earlier. (I couldn't find options for after hours car pickup although after hours returns are possible. Check with the airport's rental counters directly before booking online.) Airline ticket counters might closed except for about an hour or two before boarding. No continuous round the clock bustling. The airport accommodations are limited. Except for the Island Grill, vending machines are the only other food & beverage options. Plenty of seats for waiting.

The terminal was average and there aren't any food options. The flights were on time which was a bonus. I have no problem flying into this airport again as long as it continues to be cheaper than Boston.

There are many complaints filed with the state Attorney Generals office, BBB and social media about these retailers. These are generally seasonal retailers that lease during Xmas. They sell way overpriced skincare and other beauty products. The products are worthless but their super pushy, scam artist sales people target older women, often charging women well over $6000 for products that are no better than a $10 bottle of skin lotion at CVS. These salespeople push samples into the hands of people walking by and try to persuade them to come in the store. Some of the names of these retailers in the past were Vine Vera and Truffiorre ( 2 different skin products own by Mazal Group). The most recent store I saw in the mall that is either owned by the same company or an affiliate is a place called the Sea Spa. They also have pushy sales reps hanging outside the store waiting to pounce on vulnerable women. They take advantage of people. The mall knows what these businesses are all about but doesn't seem to care. If they cared, they wouldn't keep leasing to them and allowing their sales people to roam outside the store, physically approaching innocent people passing by. Does this mall even have a manager? It's disgusting.

Our 6 year old enjoyed riding on the escalator in Macy's and she'd probably say that was the highlight of our visit. They installed solar panels on their roofs and now water and melted snow leaks in and ruins everything you have in there and when you approach them as they guaranteed safe, dry and clean...they basically tell you to go f*** yourself and call your renters insurance. My renters insurance supposedly called them and the lied to them as well. I had to replace thousands of dollars worth of furniture because of this pile of shit venue. Didn't even offer to render assistance with disposal. During the government shut down, they offered zero assistance, in fact didn't even return my phone calls or e-mails. One gentleman was given a storage unit and the staff inadvertently gave him the wrong unit, in lieu of waiting for him to return their call they cut the lock off and rummaged through his belongings. In the winter they piled all the snow in front of my unit, they leave shovels out by the office...fend for yourself. Absolutely not worth the pain, money and bs here.
