    Turkey avocado BLT

Classic sports bar, on the smaller size. Place was steady for a Saturday night, but was seated almost immediately. Waitress was nice but seemed to be flustered dealing with other customers and busting tables. Our food came out super fast and was very delicious. I got the turkey avocado BLT and it was great. A good spot to grab a solid tasting dinner and watch a game.

    Onion rings and burger

Horrible. 3 of us went and unfortunately no one had a good meal. I ordered a med. Bacon cheeseburger which came out very well done and dry with no bacon. Two of the other meals were flavorless. We sat at the bar and the bartender and manager were more interested in counting their draw then helping us. After asking she came over, took our drink order and then disappeared. We had to ask again to order and then she took my order and walked away. She went to the other side of the bar and helped 3 other people. We said you know they wanted to order as well then she took the order, this was about 20 mins. Later. I've tried to give this place a chance, hours are good, but between parking, bad food and bad service, I am now done.

    The "same" beers

Me and a buddy both ordered a sip of sunshine. They came out looking and tasting very different. Waitress and bartender said it was just the glass making it look different. I ordered the vermont maple chicken sandwich and it just tasted like a regular chicken sandwich with a sticky bun. Very disappointing

I have only been to the Essex Junction location. I have dined there approx. 12 times. I cannot comment on the other locations. Essex (five corners) location: The French onion soup is good. Good flavor and plenty of onions. Depending the time/staff, sometimes shy on the cheese and heavy on the croutons. I usually order the Blackened Haddock served with Rice and pico de gallo. The Haddock is good, serving size seems to vary between a lunch portion and dinner portion. The rice pilaf is just ok. Pico de Gallo is fresh and has a hot pepper bite. I have sent Haddock back a couple of times due to serving size and broken up pieces instead of a nice filet. A few servers are seasoned and attentive. Most are kids. Poor service and not socially personable. I was actually FORGOTTEN once. I got up after waiting 15 minutes without any server contact and was verbally told I had been forgotten. I did contact "The manager" via phone as she wasn't working that night. She did not seem to be concerned and basically stated it was hard to get good help and that was the Restaraunt business. No apology. I have been back to dine, and 50/50 on being acceptable or not. Prices average. Typical bar atmosphere with lots of TV's everywhere. I would like better more consistent service and food. Unfortunately it is the only place close by with blackened Haddock. I you are hungry it will suffice.

Drinks were good but the food was VERY mediocre. Will not return unless I'm already drunk.

Great selection of beers and great burgers! Also the pub chips with the onion dip are the best add salt and vinegar to the pub chips.

I was a little hesitant coming here because great food is just as important to me as great drinks,…read moreand the menu was very limited. The menu listed only two mains: a "Charred Oat Burger" and a "Short Rib Toastie" in addition to two salads and four "shareables". I believe there were one or two specials that day as well, one being Steak Frites. But the food reviews were good and the drink reviews were great so I decided to go. Even if I had second thoughts the welcome from Bob the bartender when I entered (first customer when I arrived at 5:00 opening time) seemed so sincere that not staying was out of the question. I took my seat at the bar (supposedly rebuilt with materials from a bar in Ireland that closed). Bob was great, with an enthusiasm for great whiskey that he couldn't hide if he tried, and didn't seem to mind that I'm not enough of a connoisseur to have many opinions of my own. Between other customers that soon filled the place he kept me talking and I'm not much of a talker. About whiskey, where I'm from, Burlington in general, and he gave me some tips on some lesser-known Vermont attractions I didn't know about. Their whiskey collection was large and from many lands. Having just returned from Ireland I was pleased to see several I remember from my visit - not just the usual Jamesons here! I prefer a cocktail to straight whiskey though, so it was Sazeracs tonight. Two specialties. First the Rosemary's Sazerac: Bulleit Rye, rosemary syrup, Peychauds bitters, rinse of Laphroaig, torched rosemary sprig. My second was also a Sazerac: their Irish Sazerac, made with an Irish whiskey and other ingredients which I've forgotten. Both drinks were fantastic, generous with the alcohol, and made with attention to details like properly-sized ice cubes (large) and pre-chilled glasses. For food I got the "Charred Oak Burger." I don't know where the "oak" comes in. The only burger on the menu, it was made with two thin patties, a great quantity of whiskey & honey-glazed pork belly in large pieces, kimchi mayo, and a brioche bun. One of the most interesting burgers I've had in a long time. Even though it was a bit overstuffed more due to the pork belly than the patties I managed to eat it without it falling apart, a common problem with burgers. Instead of the fries it came with I elected to get the roasted Brussels sprouts instead, a special shareable of the day. I don't think I was charged extra even though it was a rather large portion. These were excellent too, sweet and bacony with no bitterness. As it got busier the noise level increased but only moderately. I liked the music playing, a mix of blues and energetic classic rock. Overhearing other conversations I could tell that these were discerning customers who took their whiskey seriously and asked detailed questions before settling on their choice of libation. Just two things on the dessert menu: Chocolate Overload and Caramel Sea Salt Cheesecake. I got the Overload: chocolate cake with Bailey's Irish Cream sauce. Nothing special but I enjoyed it; a nice way to finish the meal. It was big enough that I took about half home, along with half the Brussels sprouts. This is definitely a place I want to come back to. I wish the food menu was more extensive but that burger and sprouts were so good I could see repeating the same menu again, trying new specialty cocktails next time.

The food was coming out super quick. I got the skillet with corned beef hash, and ended up ordering some gravy to top it with. It was super tasty. Overall, this is a super cool place to come for breakfast in Burlington. Great fast service. It's some really good food.

Have you ever wondered why there was such a high turnover rate for servers here? It's because of…read morethe management. The management treats staff with an unbelievable level of disrespect. Servers are made to feel incompetent over the smallest mistakes, like one error suddenly ruins everything, yet the kitchen is apparently allowed to make mistakes without the same treatment or accountability. The double standard was impossible not to notice. What really shocked me was seeing staff get yelled at in front of customers. At one point I saw a server visibly holding back tears after being spoken to so harshly. It created such an uncomfortable atmosphere while trying to eat breakfast. The kitchen staff was also loudly cursing throughout the restaurant. It made the environment feel chaotic and hostile, especially considering there were kids around. Honestly, I didn't want to hear that either while trying to enjoy a meal. Manager Kim also came across as snarky and arrogant toward staff, which completely put me off. The attitude from management overall seemed toxic and dismissive. The food itself was fine -- nothing special, but reasonably priced. Unfortunately, decent prices don't make up for the environment. I also witnessed staff openly talking badly about people behind their backs, which only added to the negativity. Overall, it was a horrible experience, and I can't justify supporting a business that appears to treat its employees so poorly. No restaurant is worth that kind of environment.
