    My husband has been searching for a Civic Type R for a better part of a year. For those who know this car, this is a rare, limited edition vehicle that usually sells really quickly and way over sticker price. He has been back and forth on the purchase and did not want to pull the trigger. When he was about to pull the trigger, the car that he was looking at was gone. When he was doing his recent search, he found that there was a red civic type r at the Mcgrath Honda of St. Charles. We had a free afternoon so we made the 30 minute drive to see what the car was like. Our family never had a red car and when I heard about it, I was a little hesitant, but when I saw the car, I instantly fell in love. So did my 2 year old daughter. She kept going back to the car wanting to sit in it. Jose and Alberto were helping us during the entire process and I cannot recommend them enough. If you are a parent to a toddler, you know that they can be disruptive and they were both very patient and understanding. The dealership even has a kids playroom in the back with a train set and books that my daughter really enjoyed. The entire experience was 5 stars. We never felt pushed or judged. All positive interactions. I haven't been to a dealership that does this, but they ring a bell every time a car is bought and everyone in the dealership cheers. What a happy celebratory moment. P.S. if you look at my list of reviews, you will see that I reviewed Muller Honda a long time ago for my very first car purchase. I swore that I will never buy a honda again, but here I am saying that you should, just go to Mcgrath Honda in St. Charles :)

    This review is specifically for the service department from my most recent interaction. Unfortunately had to follow up and readjust my rating due to lack of communication and transparency. Went in on 8/18/25 due to a nail in my tire. The car was ready on 8/21/25. After a couple weeks I noticed there were some scratches on the inner lip of my wheel with the flat that had been replaced. I took some pictures of the damage and sent it to my advisor, Kevin Reynoso on Tuesday 9/2/25 to review. I was told then on Wednesday 9/3/25 that footage would be reviewed and I'd have an answer by Thursday 9/4/25. I did not get any communication. I reached out on Friday 9/5/25 only to get an automated out of office answer. I received a follow up back from Kevin on Monday 9/8/25 saying I'd have an answer by the following day. I did get receive a response via text on Tuesday 9/9/25, but only saying that my request was denied and that a discount could be applied for fixing the wheel. I immediately called Kevin and requested to speak to his manager, CJ Nemec. He was unavailable, but I was assured he would contact me by the time he was leaving that evening. 7 PM rolls by and nada. Zilch. I reach out again the next day via phone on Wednesday 9/10/25 and hear that CJ is off for the day so I speak with TJ, another service manager and he said he'd have CJ reach out to me the next day on 9/11/25. It's now Friday 9/12/25 and it is still radio silence. This is just flat out poor customer communication! I have zero issues with the claim being denied if the damage was present prior to me dropping off my car for service, but if you have the technology to have footage to review share it with the client to alleviate any doubts!

    They Broke a Part During Repair & Returned My Car With an Airbag Light On I brought my 2019 Honda HR-V to McGrath Honda of St. Charles for a fuel pump recall and a Service A oil change. After their inspection, they recommended additional repairs/services, but I only approved the gasket for the spool valve and drive belt replacements. Later, I received a voicemail from Tam stating that "during the normal process of removing the drive belt, the tensioner broke on us." This happened while they were working on my car, yet they told me I needed to pay an extra $522 for the replacement -- even though I'd never had any tensioner issues before. I then received another voicemail from Tam saying they noticed warning lights on the dash while working on the car. Three hours later, he called and explained: the vehicle was in accessory mode when he first wrote me up and they performed a deep battery charge, the battery and alternator were healthy, they test drove the car, and the only light that kept coming back was the SRS/airbag light, relating to seatbelts or airbags. He also made it clear that none of the services I approved "would cause that" and that if I wanted to know why the airbag light was now on, I would have to pay for a diagnostic. After that call, I went to pick up my car -- and sure enough, the airbag/SRS light was on. This light was NOT on when I dropped off my vehicle. In total, I paid about $1,300, and my vehicle was returned to me with an airbag warning light -- a serious safety issue. A part broke during their repair, and I was charged for it, and now I am left with a new problem that wasn't there before. This was an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience. I will not be returning to this dealership, and I hope sharing my experience helps others avoid similar issues.

David Koliene ("Mitty") was our sales rep, and he was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Mitty is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and down-to-earth. During the test drive, he went above and beyond to walk us through every feature of the van--demonstrating them in detail and making sure we felt completely informed and confident. No rush, no pressure--just a genuine desire to help. When it came time to go over numbers and options, Mitty explained everything clearly and professionally. He listened to what we were looking for, respected our goals, and made the whole process smooth and effortless.     My opinion as an ex salesman…read more Unfortunately about 2 weeks ago my car was totaled by a young girl. I couldn't drive for a week and even now I have reservations. Nonetheless I still need a car. I have been to several different dealerships. As a former salesman myself I can smell the scent of poo in every direction about a mile away. One dealership had a fleeting 0% that could disappear any day, just go poof like magic. I laughed in that guys face. One dealership tried to hit me with an MSRP deal even though we previously discussed the sale price and then wouldn't honor it. I walked out immediately, didn't even say anything. One girl told me that with even amazing credit I could get 10% interest rate, when my friend in the business told me with tier 1+ credit it was 5.99% for that manufacturer. The one saleswoman tried to convince me to buy now cause they had only one, when on their website they had several coming in. Now keep in mind all knew I was in the business as well, and still tried. Let's just say what I was smelling surly wasn't roses. Fast forward Hawk Nissan. Upon entering I simply asked to see the Rogue. The salesman who helped me was JOE. Joe was phenomenal!! He didn't try to sell me, he asked what I wanted to do, he helped me through the process and didn't try to steer me. He was so funny and kind, very honest and upfront! JAKE (from State Farm) no, but Jake the manager was amazing ! He didn't increase the interest, try to screw me on pricing, didn't glom the rebates. He just wanted to sell a car and I just wanted to buy one. To say this experience was a godsend in my nightmarish hunt for a vehicle is a bit excessive, however I couldn't be more grateful to these two with their assistance. I sincerely hope that whoever reads this review will give HAWK NISSAN a chance. I implore you to do so, and while you're at it please go see the dynamic duo, Joe and Jake.

After reviewing the paperwork, they provided no information for the warranty company, but had no problem charging me the $2,800. After attempting to contact the finance manager Tod Craft whom sold me the warranty, I received no answer back to multiple emails and also had my email blocked. I attempted to contact the service department for help, but didn't receive a response from them either. Seems like this dealer doesn't provide any customer service after getting your money. I will never be a customer at this dealer again, which doesn't seem to be a concern to the business anyway.

Then an older-older sales guy says "it happens", $5,000 for you car if you buy a car today. Then he follows me to the service department and stands there quietly not allowing me to speak with service tech. Then he takes the print out of my diagnostic reports. Walks me to cashier. The whole process was odd. I've lost all trust in this place and will never return. Under current leadership and conditions, this place will be closed in the near future. Also, paid $160 for a diagnostic report, but didn't receive a report, just a note on the receipt. After years of loyalty, I will no longer return.

They ran the car through the car wash and my salesperson agreed that I could return it later for proper detailing, so I returned within 30 days. Upon arrival at 11A, Frank in the service department, acknowledged the type of service to be done and they kept me waiting for 3 hours only to return the car in the worst condition it was horribly smeared all over. Moreover, the dealership finance department held my large deposit check for several weeks, hoping that it would bounce. I had to call the manager and tell him to process the check. My salesperson was wonderful but the rest of them are not. I don't recommend FOX GMC.

    Well, the vehicle was taken into another dealership and here is what transpired…read more.. -The attentiveness and communication from this other dealership was light years ahead of Fox Valley Buick GMC -The vibrating issue was found to be tied to the 4WD Service Light Issue. There was an update needed which is supposes to take care of that issue. Fox Valley told us days before there currently was no remedy for this. -The squeaking brake issue was found to be caused by cheap brakes that were installed at Fox Valley. However, this was not really Fox Valley GMC's fault because that is what GMC was going to cover under warranty. However, Fox Valley GMC should have told us this constant squeaking noise was caused by low level brakes. -This new dealership also told us that our 6.2L V8 engine is now warrantied for up to 150K miles or 2033 due to the recall relating to propulsion loss. We were NEVER told this at Fox Valley GMC when they did the recall tests on the engine. They just told us they put in thicker oil and a new oil cap. I would have liked to have known about this new warranty on the engine as it now gives me piece of mind. -Finally, the new dealership we took the vehicle to immediately found Fox Valley Buick GMC's code scanner still hooked up to my vehicle. My wife didnt notice it but we have had a code scanner plugged into our car for weeks and Fox Valley Buick GMC probably doesn't even know its missing. Their Service Department people just forgot to take it out. It doesn't shock me.
