I purchased a brand new black SUV from them, and by the time the dealership finalized the sale it was past closing. They ran the car through the car wash and my salesperson agreed that I could return it later for proper detailing, so I returned within 30 days. Upon arrival at 11A, Frank in the service department, acknowledged the type of service to be done and they kept me waiting for 3 hours only to return the car in the worst condition it was horribly smeared all over. Moreover, the dealership finance department held my large deposit check for several weeks, hoping that it would bounce. I had to call the manager and tell him to process the check. My salesperson was wonderful but the rest of them are not. I don't recommend FOX GMC. read more

Well, the vehicle was taken into another dealership and here is what transpired... -The attentiveness and communication from this other dealership was light years ahead of Fox Valley Buick GMC -The vibrating issue was found to be tied to the 4WD Service Light Issue. There was an update needed which is supposes to take care of that issue. Fox Valley told us days before there currently was no remedy for this. -The squeaking brake issue was found to be caused by cheap brakes that were installed at Fox Valley. However, this was not really Fox Valley GMC's fault because that is what GMC was going to cover under warranty. However, Fox Valley GMC should have told us this constant squeaking noise was caused by low level brakes. -This new dealership also told us that our 6.2L V8 engine is now warrantied for up to 150K miles or 2033 due to the recall relating to propulsion loss. We were NEVER told this at Fox Valley GMC when they did the recall tests on the engine. They just told us they put in thicker oil and a new oil cap. I would have liked to have known about this new warranty on the engine as it now gives me piece of mind. -Finally, the new dealership we took the vehicle to immediately found Fox Valley Buick GMC's code scanner still hooked up to my vehicle. My wife didnt notice it but we have had a code scanner plugged into our car for weeks and Fox Valley Buick GMC probably doesn't even know its missing. Their Service Department people just forgot to take it out. It doesn't shock me. read more

Update: Almost 2 and 1/2 weeks and car still not done, and that is because they didn't send it to the body shop to begin with instead of using a vendor to attempt to fix it... so here i am still waiting for my car. read more

I recently bought a Audi A5 from this dealer. Car had a warranty , and looked really nice. At my second week with my new Audi , car has suddenly stopped. i paid out of pocket to get it towed. Dealer said " issue is fuel pump". They said, they will change it, but i needed to pay 100$ more dollar deductible out of my pocket. I said okey, things happens. After they said " everything has been fixed" i took the car from dealer and came home. But shortly after (literally in 4 days) car has stopped again. But this time it was on highway, and my family was in the car. Car has suddenly stopped in the middle lane of the highway. Since it stopped on the middle lane, i couldn't moved it to the side way. It was so dangerous, i felt that i was so close to death. But i was not even thinking about my own life, cause my wife and my kid were crying in the car. We finally moved it to the side way, and started to wait for tow company.It was frozen cold , me and my family almost got frozen. Towing company came so again i had to pay for 200$ more for towing. So my question is , why would you give me the car and say "it was totally fixed" but before this question, my first question is " Why Would You Sell Broken Car" at the first place. These people put my and my famil's life in a danger. So i am expecting an apology first, then they have to fix my car, if they can't fix it i want my money back, also i am asking for all the expenses to be reimbursed, i don't feel like paying more deductible for newly purchased car. I left a voicemail to Fox Valley Buick dealer, they are misinterpreting the situation of the history of my vehicle since I purchased it, my voicemail related to pay back the invoice I had to pay to repair my vehicle due to their lack of commitment and warranty responsibilities. I had to take my car to another shop to correct the problems since day one did not take care of. If we cannot come to an agreement based on the history of this vehicle when it was under warranty and has not been taking care of the same problems, went back multiple times, engine was overheating losing cooling system, oil leaking from day one, has not been taken care of properly and that is why I had to bring the car back multiple times because their mechanics did not take care of the actual issue. The fact that their mechanic even told me that how much money did you want to spend to fix the actual problems when this car was still under warranty. According to the agreement anything had to do with the engine was covered, it was under warranty 3,000 miles and 3 months, all issues were related to part of the engine, cooling, and oil leaks. Fox Valley Buick Service department did not fulfill their mending responsibilities within the time frame during the warranty. Their expertise/experience should gather and repaired correctly these sever oil leaks and the intolerable cooling smell in the cabin. All repair history, they are not managed with the issues I kept taking it back for. You took care of the recalls and some minor clamp issues. However, didn't resolve the significant problems, their Service (Matthew) advisor said. How much money you desire to invest to fix the really problems on this car that was still under the warranty regarding the engine. read more

I would request information and they would respond with clear and concise data without withholding information and asking me to come in for a drive. Upon arrival, I found the dealership to be clean and inviting. The staff was friendly and not pushy or bothersome. The negotiations were open and honest, not demanding. I did not have to meet three levels of leadership or have my keys held hostage. I worked with David, Canada, and Alex(finance). All three went above and beyond to ensure my experience was better than any other dealership. Once I got to the finance portion of the deal, it may have been the fastest I have ever experienced. Straight to the point. Overall, I was impressed with Fox Valley GMC. They have earned my business and stood out against their competition. 7/3/21 UPDATE: I stopped using this business completely a few years ago. Seems like every six months there was new service dept. staff who seemed less informed and more apathetic than the last. The experience from visit to visit was inconsistent. The final straw was their "free lifetime" car wash policy (pre-covid). Called ahead to confirm if it was operating, then was told the weather was "inclement" when I got there and wouldn't be able to get a wash. Pretty clear the service writers considered people coming in for just a wash as nuisance, even though it's a great way to get future business. Frank guided me in making sure I took all the right steps before selling the vehicle. Had my Acadia in for service and brought a coupon that Fox Valley GMC sends to its customers. Unfortunately they did not honor it because they said it was on a competitively priced service. So I guess you can only use a coupon on service that is really ripping you off rather than just any service they provide. Unfortunately after two years of getting my vehicle serviced here I won't be returning. As a side note this will be the last GMC I purchase. 3 years old and AC blower and evaporator went out, and currently the side detection system does not work, leak from the power steering hose inlet, a bad actuator, bad low beam light and a turn signal that doesn't work properly; which is apparently several thousands in repairs. I own a ten year old Toyota and never once an issue. Only Honda's and Toyota's for my family from here on out. read more

RUN AWAY!! My car buying experience: I don't think I drove 1200 miles before the transmission failed. (4 yr old pre-owned SUV, fewer than 64,000 miles.) I brought the car back to the dealership in hopes of a quick resolution. 23 days later, a new transmission was installed. No repair process should take over 3 weeks to complete! During this time, one of the managers, Gabby, frequently failed to deliver promised follow-ups. She also accused me of owning the car for 5 months. -In reality, I brought the car back on day 106 of ownership. The owner of the dealership then promised to reimburse me for a portion of the repair costs. Gabby wrote down my address, but 14 days and another un-returned phone call later, my check has still not arrived. My advice: Shop anywhere else. Epic fail! read more

First things first. This is NOT the same business that was previously operating out of this building as St. Charles Pontiac Buick GMC. New owners took over this year and the business is now Fox Valley Buick GMC. A while back I experienced an intermittent starting problem. Two different repair shops were unable to duplicate the problem, but they charged me plenty for tows and diagnostic work, without solving the problem. I was very frustrated. The next time the car would not start, I called GM's roadside service and was towed for FREE under my GM power train warranty to Fox Valley Buick, It took them a while to isolate the problem because it was intermittent, but the bottom line was they took enough time to solve the problem and therefore they fixed it. Thomas the service writer was extremely caring and courteous, and I have to say that I don't recall ever being so pleased with a dealer's service department. By the way, there was no "sticker shock" when I received the bill. This business knows what it is doing. They even had a grand opening open house with food and entertainment. I really feel that I can trust these people, and I've already been back for other service, unusual for me because I have never really trusted dealer service departments in the past. I'll certainly give them due consideration the next time I am looking for a new car. UPDATE - 2/26/16 This above review was written in late 2011. I bought my first car by myself, a used 2019 Nissan Altima SL, from this dealership. I could not be more happy with the car and the experience. Upon entering the dealership, I was warmly greeted by Scott, who was my friend throughout the process, transparent and kind. During the test drive Scott was very patient; he let me take my diligent time evaluating the car, helped setting up my phone to the car system, and was happy to answer all of the questions I had about it. I noticed a small chip on the windshield during the test drive; I made it clear that I would want this fixed before buying the car. Once we got into the dealership, the Fox Valley team immediately began working and had the chip fixed while I was negotiating the price. Though I was not versed in negotiating prices (being a first time buyer, and this being by far the most expensive item I've ever purchased), I felt secure working with Scott and the finance staff, who were accommodating to my needs throughout the process. Even with my meager negotiating skills I was able to get a significant discount on the overall price of the vehicle.
