Purchasing a car is great! Service, absolutely horrible, I made an appointment to have my car looked at. I was in contact with someone via email that confirmed everything and even mentioned the waiting room. I arrived for my appointment and the tech came out and said "you can't wait, we might not even get to the car until Monday". Not once was anything mentioned about this. I called the manager who stated well that's not the case and it might take up to 48 hours to fix it, which I understand. 48 hours to fix and 48 hours to even look at it are two completely different things. They will try to charge you an outrageous amount of interest for a car loan & get a huge down payment even if you have excellent credit. Also, do not let them run your credit report. I told Leila I had already been pre-approved for a car loan through my credit union. Leila immediately said they only do in-house financing. I should have hung up right then & there, but against my better judgment I proceeded. I permitted Leila to run my credit report one time because she said they would try to match the interest rate I had been approved for elsewhere. I have a credit score of 800, make over $100,000, pay my bills on time, & have long-term employment. So, I figured they could give me a decent interest rate on a car loan. I also spoke with the finance guy at their dealership, named Ash Holy on the phone after I completed the online loan application. Ash commented that I was "a rock star". I thought for sure they would be able to get me a decent loan based on my credit score & other stability factors. Nope! Leila then called me a short time later & offered me approval for a car loan through them with a 10% interest rate over 5 years. She was talking fast to try to get me locked into a bad deal. I immediately stopped her & told her that's ridiculous, especially given to my credit profile & other factors. She immediately countered, reading some script she had saying, "Well, you know the national car loan average is 5-7%.". I said exactly. So why would I pay your dealership 10? I told her no. Leila texted me later on offering me a 7.99% interest rate & $3,500 down for 60 months. I again said no. Needless to say I did not get a car from here, which is a good thing especially considering how they run their business. Unfortunately, I now have three new hard inquiries on my credit report from this dealership that tried to rip me off. I think St Charles Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram tries to prey on people with a lack of understanding about car loan interest rates. Rebates were changed, extra costs added, and the transparency I asked for upfront wasn't there. I returned the car a week later, which they accepted. I'm grateful for that, but I'm now left without a vehicle and feel like I wasted my time. We were sold a Dodge Durango in the winter with a bad (or going bad) A/C, although it was sold to us in January, so we did not know. For the first few months of the first summer, it worked fine but then stopped. We had the warranty, so we brought it in to get fixed. They said they fixed it. It started feeling colder for a couple months but with a weird smell, then it stopped working again. So, we went back and said it wasn't working again after a few months of suffering through barely working a/c. They said that WE put in the wrong refrigerant, so our warranty was void, which we did not. I have a feeling THEY might have. At the end of the day, this Dodge sold us a car with a bad a/c from the start, and we paid for the $5,000+ warranty and they did not fix it. We still do not have A/C 5 years later since we cannot afford it. This place is a SCAM. I also have a friend that said her parents were scammed by them multiple times. read more

Unfortunately I had someone else appraise my car (Lenny? Larry?). He was condescending and I got the feeling that he thought I was wasting his time by bringing in an older vehicle. I was offered more for my car from Peddle--a service that tows away non running junk cars. Regardless of whether or not he thought his appraisal was accurate, you should still treat every customer that comes in there with respect. Buyer Beware... I should have walked out when the sales associate had me email my proof of insurance to his private email account because he was locked out of his professional account. This dealership scammed me out of THOUSANDS of dollars by signing me up for a paint service I did not request when I bought my brand new Jeep Wrangler. I decided I was going to purchase a new Jeep, and trade in my Wrangler. So, I looked around and found the model and trim level I wanted. I reached out to the St. Charles Jeep dealer, and began emailing with them. It was confirmed that the car was in stock, the price online was accurate, and most importantly, there were no required add-ons. I did the online KBB "instant cash offer" which said there was an offer for a little over 17K on my Wrangler - which frankly was low - but I figured they needed to lay eyes on it first. I took the hour and a half long drive out to the dealership, brought my gas-guzzling Wrangler, and met with a salesman. They started the appraisal for my car, and I went over the details for the one I wanted to buy. This is where it started to go wrong. First, despite asking and being told in advance about the "add-ons" being optional, it turned out that was a lie - to the tune of a few thousand dollars. Then, they came back with a laughable amount for my trade-in - $14,000. (I say laughable, because I did, indeed, laugh). Thinking it must be a mistake that they went down from the KBB cash offer, instead of up, I spoke with the used car buyer. It became apparent they were serious. So, I walked out. - I'll leave a picture of what they think a $14,000 Wrangler looks like (it has about 78K miles, mind you) Next day, I bought the same model and trim from Elgin Jeep - and was given a more fair $22,000 for my trade in. (In fact the Jeep in Elgin was a few hundred dollars less). So, if you have more money than common sense this may be the dealership for you. PLEASE READ!!!!! I am an Active Duty military personnel that is stationed in California. I'm originally from Illinois and that's why I got a truck in Illinois. It has been 106 days since I got my truck. I have NOT gotten my hard plates yet because THIS Dealership messed up and put my truck as a passenger plate and not a truck plate. Why would they do that you ask? I'm pretty sure everyone working there has a lower IQ than a 6th grader. I've been in contact with Louis and a couple other people. "Blatant sexism and a clear attempt to take advantage." I've been to this place before and had great experiences in the past, but unfortunately, things took a disappointing turn during my most recent visit. I've dealt with condescending behavior at car dealerships before, but this experience really takes the cake. I mentioned I was having issues with the radio, likely due to a dying battery, but they insisted that both batteries were faulty (which wasn't the case, since my car started just fine, my car would not start if both did not work). They even suggested my entire radio needed replacing. It felt like they were trying to charge me for things I didn't need, with a ridiculous price tag to match--over $480 for a battery that typically costs around $200. To top it off, they charged me $189 for a diagnostic test--something that should've been $50-$100 at most. They also claimed the $189 was half off, which made it even more ridiculous. He abruptly offered to take the car back, questioned my driving skills, and informed there was 20 leads for this car and then hung up the phone. Later, I received an email from Alex demanding to wire $1,200 for mileage and shipping costs to return vehicle. This level of unprofessionalism was truly shocking. Neglected Maintenance: I decided to get the car independently inspected and discovered significant issues. The tires, which should have been replaced, were five years old as i mentioned Dan, and the battery was nearing the end of its 5 year life, and a/c was not blowing cold air and needed recharged. These are issues that any reputable dealership should have addressed before selling the car. Conclusion: My experience with St Charles Chrysler Dodge Jeep and Ram was a nightmare from start to finish. They displayed unprofessionalism, used high-pressure sales tactics, and showed a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. I strongly advise against buying a vehicle from this dealership unless it's an exceptionally rare find. July 17th, 2020 I received my first car from this dealership. With the whole pandemic being a new thing back then, the car was a great price. The car is a Dark/Charcoal Gray 2014 Dodge Charger 3.6L SXT with AWD for around 16K. For reference, this trim package 6 months to a year later was selling from 25K to even 35K. It was a great experience for me they even played my favorite song after the purchase was finalized. I promised I'd make a review and it's coming up on 3 years so...Here it is: Although the car's interior wasn't the cleanest at first, since then this is the best daily driver and car. Every car that age (coming up on a decade in a year and a half) is bound to have issues, yet I've only had two issues: - A replacement of the Actuator. - Recently a Left-Rear Wheel Sensor that went bad. It has gone into the shop less than any of my family member's brand new cars. Truly the definition of a reliable car. From -10 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit, I never have to worry about the car not starting. Since I got the car I got rid of 2 of the 3 door dents out, replaced the very bad halogen headlights & fog lights and replaced them with very good LED's, installed a Dashcam, and I bought very cheesy Puddle Lights that say Dodge Charger whenever you open the door. None of these "mods" had any affect on the car, especially on the battery that came with the car. I will keep this car completely stock and may buy a few more little goodies that I can easily revert. As much as I want to go fast in this car and do anything a teenager and now a 20 year old would do, I have a clean driving record and drive my car with respect, so I think my car is thanking me. This dealership gave me a perfect car and all I had to do was the rest to keep it in great condition. Since I am a Michigander, I doubt I'll drive all the way down to Chicago to buy another one from here, but I'd highly recommended this dealer to anybody in the area or looking for a great car, at a great price, that will last you a long while. I leased a Jeep Renegade in 2021. The sales team was great but the talked me into paint sealer etc. etc. This was a joke as I had to take it back several times for the sloppy work and finally gave up. I've had it in for a transmission shifting problem twice in the first 6000 miles and now at 9000 it needs work again. I called for an appointment but because my oil change is free and the transmission warranty work, they want me to wait 3 weeks because they don't have a loaner available. Had a very poor experience with this dealership when attempting to purchase a vehicle advertised on their website. This dealership advertises on their site that 'The Price You See Advertised - Is the Price You Pay' - That was certainly NOT our experience. We were looking at a 2023 Jeep Renegade Limited that was advertised at just under $26K - also listed with only 4015 miles. We reached out to schedule a test drive and when we arrived to test drive the car, we were told that it was considered a service loaner car and currently being used by a salesperson. Once they located the car for the test drive we noticed the car actually had approx 6900 miles on the odometer. We mentioned to the salesperson that the website indicated much lower miles. They admitted that they had NOT updated their site in quite some time. After the test drive and some consideration, we indicated that we were interested in purchasing the car and asked if they could consider a lower price for the car since the mileage was higher than advertised. The salesperson and manager indicated that they believed that would be some they could consider and would most likely possible - but would need to get back to us in a couple of days as they would need to speak to their general mgr and they would be closed for the Christmas holiday and would be able to connect the general mgr until after the holiday. They promised to get back to us first thing after the holiday - that did not happen. The day after the holiday, later on that day we called to follow up (since they did not reach out to us) and got a completely rude/abrupt response that they would not consider lowering the price but actually increasing the price to $27,250 (another $1250 above the advertised price). They indicated there would be no further negotiations and pretty much told us that was the final new price. Besides being shocked at how rudely they delivered this news to use, we were disgusted and walked away. They lost a cash sale. They had updated their website with the new price but did not update the mileage of the car. Please note that as of this post, the mileage is still showing at 4015 miles. We have screen shots of the car listing prior to the price increase and after the price increase. We plan to file a claim with the BBB and dept of consumer affairs for false advertising. Just unacceptable business practices in my opinion. My recommendation to anyone working with this dealership - BEWARE! and be prepared for some questionable sales practices. BTW, we had a much better experience at Larry Roesch Jeep and I would highly recommend them. read more
