I don't know how there are so many good reviews on this rest stop. This was the most disgusting and weirdest stop ever. The only thing that was nice was the info signs. The bathroom stalls were extremely uncomfortably short and super tiny.

A good choice for a much needed break. The weather was blazing hot. This is a clean and popular stop for weary travelers. Clean restrooms with paper! That is one thing, with a road trip take your own toilet paper. The bathrooms typically get cleaned and restocked with paper once a day. The busier rest stops use paper quickly. They have their own parking lot separated for large trucks and cars.

A terrific stopping spot between Phoenix and Flagstaff to stretch or take care of necessary duties. There are beautiful vistas past the nicely landscaped grounds. Contains clean bathrooms. Informative signs describe the region and its history, along with descriptions of Arizona's natural attractions. Vending machines provide snacks and drinks. There's ample, convenient parking for semis, RVs, and personal vehicles.

If you water up in your Phoenix home, drink water from a thermos driving the Black Canyon freeway the stop for coffee at Cordes Junction the McGuireville rest area offramp may look like an offramp to heaven.

The McGuireville Rest Area is a well-maintained stop located off Interstate 17, near McGuireville, Arizona. This rest area provides travelers with a peaceful break from driving, featuring clean facilities, picnic areas, and scenic views of the surrounding landscape. It's a convenient spot for stretching your legs, having a quick meal, or just enjoying a moment of relaxation during a long journey. Next stop Grand Canyon

Clean easy access rest area. Nice dog area. Covered Picnic tables. Signage in regard to snakes and other crazy bugs.

Night time view from parking to restrooms - vey well lit and restrooms were clean with individual stalls

Traveling from Phenix to the Grand Canyon can be a long journey. Luckily for us Arizona has wonderful rest stops all along the way. Our tour bus happened to stop at McGuireville Rest Stop just off of interstate 17 in Rimrock Arizona. This rest stop has a huge parking area, nicely landscaped with local plants and cactus. It is big enough to accomodate a large group of travelers. With clean restrooms, snack and drink vending machines, covered picnic tables, and educational material about the Grand Canyon. So if you happen to be traveling on interstate 17 near Rimrock and feel the need to take a break ( Never Fear McGuireville Rest Stop is Here). You won't be disappointed !

Normally I don't review rest areas or at least I haven't been. This rest area has everything you need; it's very clean, plenty of toilet paper, plenty of soap and it's a clean facility. They have vending machines for soda, candy and snacks. You can walk your pets here and they also have picnic tables.

As we're cruising down the main street we passed The Inn Above Oak Creek and noticed they had a lit-up vacancy sign. We immediately went in and met with the inn keeper who offered to let us go see the room before we committed to booking. This is THE cutest little 13 room inn set right on Oak Creek. There is seating down by the creek, on the patio off the main room, and inside the main room itself that all have great views. Our room was very spacious with a 2-person sized bathtub and a fireplace! It had truly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in away from home. My husband was obsessed and wanting to know how we could copy it to have at home. Both of the inn managers were so kind and took such good care of us. You could feel how much they care for the inn and value their guests. There's always coffee and water set out. They have homemade cookies in the afternoon and homemade muffins in the morning. They have a bookshelf with various options for reading and a large selection of movies. On the coffee table, they have binders full of recommendations for trails and exploring the area. It was such a cute and intimate place to stay. I'd recommend it to anyone traveling to Sedona and I'd love to stay here again! We truly couldn't have found a better place to stay for Valentine's Day. We felt so lucky to have gotten a room here.

However, the older slots are sadly in disrepair. The lights indicating how much you can bet do not light up and it's hard to determine what the minimum and maximum bets are. The screens are dark and some have lines through them. It's as if they don't care about the older machines and they are just filling space until they can replace them with newer slot games. One slot machine where I sat was very confusing and was not functioning properly. I called an attendant over who called a second attendant that pushed a few buttons and shook the machine, then said, it's working now. They never said that they would have someone work on the machine. In my opinion, that machine should have been shut down for service. The players club card readers on the machines do not work well. Your card has to be inserted several times before it is read. At one point I went to the Players Club desk and got a new card thinking it was my card, but it was my card, but no it was the reader. With all that said, I did enjoy my visit at Cliff Castle Casino, although it was more work than I had anticipated. Between calling attendents, getting a new card, fighting with the card readers and making sure I played long enough to accumulate enough points for the free $10 play, it was a lot of work. Once you accumulated enough points you then had to go to the Players Club and give them $20 and they would load $30 on your card.. just not worth the time and trouble. I would go again if I had time to jump through all the hoops. Otherwise, I would move along to another casino either in Flagstaff or Phoenix. Okay how would you write your exper

There was an odor in the room, and the bathroom had clearly not been cleaned before we checked in. There was long dark hair strewn on the shower walls, hair all over the bathroom floor as well as dirt and other spots and stains. We reported it and asked to have the room cleaned-no luck. We asked to be moved to another room-no luck. We were simply told they would take note of it. The following day we asked to speak to a supervisor and guess what-there was no note of our complaint. They said there was nothing they could do and would notify the manager on duty and we would be contacted. We heard nothing from the hotel. This is not how I would run and business and I certainly won't give them my business again.

In the winter, I love just staying in the main rooms or any of the cottages and decompressing, relaxing, staying warm. In the summer, it's the perfect area to go on some great hikes (I recommend Highline, Wildcat, and Fossil Creek of course). The rooms/airstreams are immaculate - with a truly relaxing, rejuvenating aesthetic. I've stayed in the queen and king rooms with couch, desk etc as well as the cottage and airstream which have more space and little kitchenettes perfect for making a small breakfast or reheating some leftovers. Service is really top tier- especially considering everything is hands-off, and there's no physic host/ess property manager on site- but Mike the Elk answers promptly and fulfills all reasonable requests to ensure your stay is just about perfect. Highly recommend coming here just for the inn alone- all of the other activities, restaurants and attractions will follow! @azfitfoodfun

We stayed in Airstream #4 and it was perfect. Very private and a nice view. There are some homes nearby but nothing super close. Loved the chairs, fire table, and the hot tub! Even had elk and deer walk right by the campsite while we were there, it's awesome! The inside of the Airstream was nice! Queen size bed, super comfy. Spacious enough with a couch and mini kitchen and fridge. Even had a TV and wifi. The bathroom does not have a door - so if you're coming with friends, beware! There is a Keurig too. I do wish the properties were spaced out from each other more. You are very close to the other rentals. Especially walking around. Saw tons of families so kids definitely could make the trip. You can easily walk up to Windmill Coffee or the PIEbar! Definitely recommend both. The communication with the staff and concierge was very easy and quick responses. We didn't have any issues during our stay. Truly felt like we were able to step away and be on our getaway. It's such a quiet and peaceful area. Couldn't recommend the Strawberry Inn more! We absolutely loved our stay and can't wait to come back!

I lived in the area for 23 years before moving to California. While living here I arranged for housing for groups of people attending nearby conferences. On this trip, I needed a dog-friendly hotel while on my way to visit friends in nearby Flagstaff, AZ. I found this Day's Inn to be pretty bad. For example, the walls were thin and I could hear conversations and TV noise from next door rooms late into the night. I found the 'free breakfast' to be disappointingly modest. What lowered my review rating to 2 stars, however, was what I consider to be an unethical business practice. I had called the front desk to verify that the charge for two small dogs was approximately $49 a night. When we arrived late evening at this hotel my wife checked us in and checked us out the next day. Then, well after leaving this Day's Inn, she told me that they charged her $40 per dog.
