So we were down the block doing some shopping. My husband and I passed this place and there was a couple sitting outside enjoying a nice beer on draft. I felt a bit parched so I asked my husband if he wanted to stop in. Sure he said, didn't take much convincing. We walked up to the bar and ordered some Michelob ultras on draft. We grabbed our drinks and sat outside on the sofa seating area. The staff were super friendly. The place has various tvs with different sports playing on each. There are a few games and even a swing set. I wouldn't personally sit on that since I tend to be clumsy as I drink. lol It was a beautiful day outside and the environment to this place is spot on. The view of downtown is nice. They do serve food and after reading their menu it seems like we need to bring our boys here. This is a nice place to sit back relax, enjoy a nice refreshing drink, maybe some food and enjoy the company you're with. The prices are reasonable but on the higher end. Went here to watch the fights and had a great time!!! Had a large group of us, roughly 15 people (you can reserve lounge areas if needed). The staff were very friendly, running their butts off to keep the beers coming, and took good care of us the entire night. Ordered a pizza and wings and they both came out pretty good too. Can't complain at all. Would love to go back for several different sporting events or to even hang out and toss some cornhole. Go check em out. You won't be disappointed. read more

Stopping by after work to meet some coworkers for happy hour, I was finally about to check out McIntyre's South town and I'm glad I did. I like the location and the fact it is a little bit more intimate than the northside location. While sitting at the bar, I got to meet the bar manager, Charlie, who was very friendly and gave me a rundown of the drink menu and food truck dining options. Make sure me my friends were looked after. The inside of the bar has plenty of tv's to watch sports while the outside patio has area to spread out and relax. Charlie mentioned they have rotating food trucks and the food is good regardless of the truck. They made a solid Old Fashioned and our bartender was never far away. I didn't try the food truck this time around but will give them a try the next time I come through. I enjoyed my first visit and will be here more often especially during football season. read more

The first time my husband and I tried @garciabarbecue was when they were at a Northside food truck park and it was good. Jonathan reached out last week to invite us to come out. Now they're located @mcintyressouthtown from Sundays through Tuesdays and every other Saturday. @mcintyressouthtown is a Houston-based concept which is 21 and up sports bar with many TVs to enjoy games with both indoor and outdoor seating. @garciabarbecue is a Veteran-owned business. The picture doesn't do it justice because the sandwich is huge! The Smoked Queso Nachos is the bomb! We had chopped brisket and sour cream. Dad couldn't stop eating it. You need to check it out! The drinks @mcintyressouthtown are strong. I had the Lovey Dovey and Hot Eff the Press. My husband had the Hot Eff the Press and Moscow Mule. Dad had cranberry juice. It was my first time at Mcintyre's and I was so excited for our visit. Our visit was on a weekday during the NBA playoffs and it was a bit busy for a Monday. We went straight to the bar to order a few drinks but with only two bartenders it took a very long time to get seeing and to even order a drink. They don't have any waitstaff for the inside or outside guest. Finally when we got our drinks we ventured outside and enjoyed the cool breeze and the game. Our city is in full "Boom Town Mode" at the moment. By the time you've blinked your eyes everything will have changed. More and more over businesses and franchises are making their way here. And there appears to be no slowing down or stopping them. Mcintyre's, a franchise from Houston is the latest party export to the Alamo City. Truth be told I heard alot of great things about their Houston location. I would pass by ever so often to see its progress in the midst of its construction. A few months later I finally stopped in on a busy Friday afternoon. The first thing I noticed is that there is zero parking here. All the businesses along South Presa Street tie up all potential parking anywhere. Stepping into here I experienced a deja vu moment. What it once was and what is now are two different things. At the same time I felt a sense of familiarity. I've stepped into this bar many times before. Once inside which surmounts to a Biergarten there was no signage. How do you order? Do you seat yourself? I say this as I saw servers in yoga shorts making the rounds, ready to take your order. In actuality you can order at the bar and create a tab. Or you can flag down a server to assist you. They have mixed drinks, wine, and beer. So I grabbed a pint and tried to find outdoor seating. Sitting outside I noticed that the terrain was unbalanced or lopsided. For example I placed my glass on top of a table but it slid down. I went to another table but again the glass sat at an angle. In addition I wasn't feeling the astro turf landscape. It would've served the place better if they left the concrete that was there before. I get that they were trying to create a family atmosphere. Sometimes you can't please everyone all the time. Between the auto-tuned playlist and adult swing that fits a group of people I was underwhelmed. Again, I feel like I have been here before. I came here, had a drink but didn't feel an urge to stay beyond one beer. I will say that the tapmaster was really friendly. They do have food trucks but I implore them to eventually create a full kitchen. I'm on the fence in terms of seeing the multitude of businesses coming here like Mcintyre's. It can raise our city's profile but dilute our local scene. If you love the hustle and bustle of Southtown now becoming overcrowded this place will speak to you. The beer is cold, and the playlist will have you shaking your booty in your seat. Sure there are a million photo ops to be had here but I'd trade those for one unique experience anyday. read more

We stopped by this new sports bar, and the first San Antonio location of McIntyre's. I normally like to frequent businesses that are locally owned and operated, however McIntyre's has a locally owned food truck called Garcia Barbecue on site, and their food is MAD delicious. It was around 12 PM on a Sunday (today) and the place was pretty empty, which was good for me. I normally try to stop by new businesses on random slow times, such as during the weekdays or right when they open on a Sunday. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the beautiful open ambiance of the building. It's this beautiful open indoor outdoor flow to it, which is one of my favorite concepts, second to rooftop bars with covered mesh canopies. Outside they had these huge swings that are an influencer's dream. There are TV's everywhere, which is awesome because it is technically a sports bar, so all the trendy social media concepts of the business can be a little misleading. I could see myself watching a game here but ONLY if they played the sound for the game, as opposed to the pretty awesome top 40 they normally play throughout the day. The bartender was very helpful and made a solid cocktail recommendation that was the perfect amount of sweet, boozy, and refreshing. If you go, I highly suggest your order the "It's Always Sunny In San Antonio." We waited for Garcia Barbecue to set up their truck, since we got there at the same time as they did. I have reviewed Garcia Barbecue on Yelp and Google, so feel free to jump to that review because their El Mero Mero sandwich is out of this world. I felt the holy spirit on this, the day of the LORD! Its a big girl sandwich packed with every meat on the menu, and totally worth its weight in gold. I am pretty sure I proposed to it. I could see myself coming back here for steak night and hanging out with my friends when it is not crazy busy and some of the hype dies down. I like to ensure my customer experience doesn't suffer due to a business being extremely busy. I wish they had a kitchen, but they do have a food truck I haven't been able to try yet, but I plan to soon! I love the outdoor area, they have swings too which are fun! Friendly staff, just slow service. It's brand new and very popular so it gets very very crowded, but when we went, people were complaining about not having a bartender walking around to check on them and we watched people leave because of that. This is my go to bar for ufc pay per view events. They have lots of big screens and comfortable seating areas. There is no cover and even when the place is packed the staff hustles and they never leave me hanging with an empty glass when I want more beer. I loved this indoor/outdoor spot. Large screens inside and outside with a variety of other TVs spread throughout as well. A long line of taps and some pretty delicious cocktails. We imbibed the Always Sunny cocktails while we watched the games and caught up. The food truck nachos were also key for making our Sunday a happy one. We were there on a sunny Sunday afternoon the first weekend of December. Most of the tables and couches outside were already taken, but we were able to snag three seats at the bar.
