They have an amazing breakfast that is part of the price. Everyone is very polite, helpful and friendly. We love staying here.

Located in a nice area but the resort is very dated. Our room needed repairs, lamp did not work, bathroom old, and needs a remodeling overall, especially for their prices. Had noise all night just enough to keep you up. The bar was lacking and no restaurant. But.... they made up for it with an outstanding free breakfast every morning. If they update the rooms and remodel the overall building, it would be a great place to stay. Tons of bird nests on the walls of the resort which made it looked uncared for outside. Our outside patio was full of bird droppings which made it unusable. Something neat was Wild horses and Elk were all over the grounds which was fun to see. read more

This was my second stay at the Lodge and it was wonderful. The front desk attendants were very helpful, the room was spotless, and breakfast was delicious and the chef and woman bussing were friendly and accommodating. The woman who was the bartender the evening I ordered I ordered beer was aloof and inattentive and her sour disposition was hilighted by the professionalism and warmth of the other hotel staff. I noticed it was just with my group. The rooms are comfortable and were set up so it was easy to work in the evenings. The fireplace is relaxing and being able to sit outside looking at the course was so peaceful. My colleague commented that he enjoyed watching the deer being moved off the golf course. If I'd been there with more time I would have taken advantage of the beautiful outside facilities. The golf course looks stunning. Breakfast was delicious. I realized too late the 1st morning that there are omelets and eggs made to order and the second day I was in a rush so ate from the freshly prepared food in the buffet line. It was great to be able to eat quickly and get started with my day. It is a real breakfast, not continental only, and I appreciated being able to have real eggs, fruit and saw tamales that I missed out on (next time!). Staff was great about suggesting restaurants to choose from, and one night we brought a pizza back to the hotel so we could work in the lobby as a group. We get checked in and walk to our room to be surprised with trash sitting outside our room on both sides. I reported it to the front and no one ever came to gather it. Pretty disgusting!!!! Since we are in the middle of a pandemic the pool had restrictions. Only 16 people for 1 hour. The woman running it wouldn't let more than 10 and was a bit rude!!! At about 8 we started hearing the room next to us start fighting and slamming things. We ignored this until about 10-1030 at which time I called the front desk. She claimed maintenance would come check it out. Obviously this never happened as they continued to fight, slam doors, and what sounded like hitting the wall until 12-1230. I have a four year old and it was a Sunday. Front desk could of done something about this. This is not a cheap hotel but they surely do act like they are. The "breakfast" was okay but like I said they want certain restrictions for the pandemic but want everyone to share the same milk jug. Final straw, bar is supposedly open for happy hour from 5-7 (I believe) for happy hour and then until 9 for regular priced drinks. Bartender said she wouldn't stay open that late. They offered wings and pizza. Wings are frozen and cooked with the pizza. Pans looked dirty. You weren't allowed to have your own drinks while the bar was open. I do not recommend this hotel for the price. read more

First time here very friendly staff,we felt welcomed, rooms are huge very clean , pool Jacuzzi was Fabulous, breakfast make to order eggs , best part Super soft Biscuits and gravy, buffet Kept full . We were on third floor best Unexpected part , opened the blinds and saw a herd of elks laying out in Pasture. About 8am the herd headed to another area crossing the parking lot , Definitely worth the stay. read more

This is a very well taken care of resort. A little outdated decor is a reminder of the late 80's. Nice indoor pool and golf course outside of the hotel. I enjoyed the 3 mile walking trail and the many Elk and trees. Alfredo the Chef did a fantastic job with taking orders for omelette and other custom orders. I will re visit soon! read more

I just stayed here the last few days for the first time. The room is nice and the pool area is very beautiful and spacious. I used their fitness center and it worked well. The breakfast is fantastic and is their strength. They have lots of variety and choices. My only complaint is the one ice machine they had was broken. Their staff members were always very gracious to get ice from their kitchen but it was a hassle not to be able to get ice myself. Overall o would stay here again but they need to fix their ice machine. read more

The place is beautiful, but that's not what I came here to say. The man absolutely killing it in the morning for breakfast (atleast on 10/20 10/21) is the nicest guy ever. I love him, my boyfriend loves him, everyone loves him. The food is great too read more

The staff is really friendly, room was very clean, maybe the cleanest room I've seen in a long time. I got a suite and the two things I gotta complain about is, the AC sounds like a humpback whale and the room next to me had what sounded like a hardcore coitus session. The wall must be supper this as the beds from each room back up to each other. I could change rooms but I could miss some more excitement. read more

Pros- nice beds, good breakfast, moose outside on the golf course were fun, staff friendly Cons- 1. They ran out of soap- Yes, you heard me, no soap. When their shipment did not come in, they offered extra shampoo rather than getting soap for the guests (We went to Albertsons and bought our own soap. There was plenty to purchase). To expect people to bathe and wash their hands in shampoo is ridiculous. 2. Conflicting information- When I first inquired about soap they said they would bring some up. When we came back from our visit downtown, they informed me that their soap shipment did not come so they were offering shampoo. 3. No housekeeping- This would have been understandable, but they did not tell us this was their new policy. As a matter of a fact I got conflicting information on this too. One employee said it was COVID protocol, while the other said housekeeping was per special request because they were short handed. 4. Water heater was extremely loud- it sounded like a rocket ship throughout the night 5. Lack of problem solving- When these issues were brought to the attention of staff they were very friendly, but unable to offer solutions or compensate us for the inconveniences. We paid over $200 a night for a King suite, but we definitely did not get what we were expecting for the price. I would not recommend staying here. read more

Very disappointed that the quality has gone down and deteriorated. We had to call maintenance upon arrival to get the room in order. Do not face back of resort - Loud noise and partying went on until 4am - even though signage said quiet after 10pm. Totally recommend finding another place. read more

It definitely has it's pros and cons: Pros: Our room was cozy and the beds comfortable. The jacuzzi tub was a huge hit with my kids. The hot tub and pool were a good size and fun. The breakfast was pretty good and my kids literally thought it was an all you can eat buffet . The fire pit was a nice end to the night with a beautiful backdrop and a few drinks. The bar has reasonably priced drinks as well. And it was super close to all the winter activities we had planned. Cons: The beds are so high up that my kids and I had to jump up to get on (I'm 5'1). The shower didn't have much pressure so it was difficult to get the soap out of my hair. We had to sit real close to the fire pit to get any warmth (I know they can't really control that). And it seemed a bit underwhelming when we showed up, the decor is dated and we don't golf so we had to find other activities to entertain the kids. We did have a nice relaxing trip. But I'm not sure this would be my first choice when returning. However it is a runner up. read more

Our room was cozy, we loved the giant bathtub! It overall just really needs to be updated. The TVs are small and don't offer any sort of guide, so we had to manually flip through every channel. We also didn't get turn down service every day. However, the staff we all very friendly and helpful. We had couples massages with Patti, and loved her. She did an excellent job. The fireplace was great but we wished it was bigger. It felt awkwardly small when trying to sit close to it. The pool was good, but not great. It was very clean but had an overpowering smell of chlorine. The hot tub was nice and big through and definitely served its purpose. We would definitely come back and stay, but next time in the honeymoon suite with 7 shower-heads! read more

Arrived to hotel and was surprised to find a huge Ten Commandments stone tablet in the area outside the entryway. Thought, 'That's weird.' Then, entered lobby and saw a huge sign stating that this hotel chain was the 'official hotel of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.' Weird. Then, I see multiple framed Bible verses throughout the lobby. Ok so, obviously I booked a week at some sort of bizarre religious resort. And, that's what it was. Religion everywhere. Bad 80's decor and Jesus all over the place. The breakfast buffet was decent, but we're still in a pandemic and they're wanting us to share milk jugs and all kinds of other things. It's like Covid doesn't exist to them. No one masked, and I didn't even bother to ask if any of them were vaxxed. Only Jesus knows. If I had realized this is a hotel that will preach at you, there is zero way I would have booked them. No previous reviews mentioned this, so I don't know if these religious additions are new or if people a.) didn't care, or b.) didn't notice. Between the "old hotel smell," 80's decor, and the hyper-religious silliness, I won't be back. The view is incredible and the rooms are large--but do yourself a favor and stay at the Inn of the Mountain Gods, where you can be whatever religion you want, or none at all. read more

We had a late checkin however it was our honeymoon and that didn't stop us from exploring. We went out to the courtyard and it was so nice! We sat out there stargazing and mapping out constellations with the constellations app. It was such a wonderful time of laughs and enjoyment. There is a snack shop there too!!! The breakfast buffet was very well thought out. You order your food and they cook up the eggs or omelette of choice. You tell the server what you want from the buffet and they serve it and you go on your way. I highly recommend this hotel! Great views and friendly staff. Also, delicious breakfast! read more

Booked our reservations a month ago and had a confirmation emailed to us. I drove 6 hours (from Arizona), plus my date drove another 3.5hrs (from Carlsbad), and when we got here they couldn't find our reservations. After waiting over 15 minutes (while another family was dealing with THEIR reservations being messed up) they realize it didn't properly transfer to their system, and their only solution was to offer us a downgraded room with 2 queen beds (when we reserved their premium king suite) that had none of the amenities we had wanted. They didn't offer any other solution, and then told us we could just be added to a waitlist to see if a different room opened up that night. Mind you this is 4th of July and 4pm, so the chances of that happening are close to none. The only other thing they could offer was us still being able to use their free breakfast even if we went somewhere else (which meant we'd have to drive back and forth, so useless to us). It was very much an atmosphere of "we screwed up, but you'll just have to deal with it". At the end we called up Inn of the Mountain Gods and they were able to get us premium rooms for 2 of our 3 nights, while we settled for a 2 bedroom queen for one night here. Should've booked with them from the beginning, honestly. Extremely disappointing, not dealt with well at all, and to see that we weren't the only ones with reservations that had issues just shows a lack of professional operations here. Very sad since the place is nice and the rooms seemed heavenly. Not booking here again. read more

The Hotel Elegante is a beautiful hotel. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very professional. The rooms are comfortable, and the large lobby has a fireplace. They have a clean indoor pool and indoor hot tub. They also have a better than average exercise room. The wifi is among the fastest I've every used at a hotel. The hotel is located next to the convention center and a golf course. There is also a multi-use path near the hotel. The hotel is within a short drive to most of of the areas attractions. The complimentary breakfast was good. There was a selection of breads, cereal, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, yogurt, and other items. The breakfast area is large so it's not hard to find a table. I've stayed in Ruidoso many times and so far this is my favorite hotel in that area. This will be where I will stay going forward. read more

Hotel is very clean, the bed is comfortable and the room is a very good size. The staff are nice and professional and the building looks very well maintained. It's very close to everything, and is quiet, yet I suggest a top floor room because it gets loud when someone is staying on top of you. The pool is clean, well managed, yet it was kinda creepy when the pool manager kinda lived there, and watched you swim. Our room however, it took a while for the water in the shower to heat up enough, and the toilet was very loud, and would continue to be loud for 10-20 minutes. Their breakfast is wonderful, and you get to choose from multiple things. Room service restaurants however could be chosen a little better. We ordered from Pizza Hut, and got terrible service. Other then a couple issues, the hotel is clean, well managed, had hired wonderful staff, and their breakfast is wonderful. I would definitely stay here the next time I plan a trip to Ruidoso, and also plan to stay in their other locations to. read more

Amazing guest service! We are currently staying here, and I am blown away by the guest service. When we checked in, we went to our room... and the AC did t work. So, a technician came and tried to fix it. After realizing it wasn't an easy fix, they moved us into a suite. The rooms and accommodations are awesome. The first day and night were good, then the AC stopped working again. We spent the night dealing with 8O degrees or warmth and ended up sleeping g with all the doors and windows open. In the morning, the technician people came back and checked on the AC again to find that the system wasn't blowing air. They were very nice and always helped us with a smile on their face. The head maintenance guy came out and checked on the system and said that if we would r mind, they would like to take care of us and move us to another suite. He apologized again for any inconvenience that it caused. They were willing to get a cart for us and help move our stuff to the new room. I have never had this many issues when staying anywhere before, but never imagined so many people going out of their way to help. The first guy drove for an hour and came from his house to help us. I would definitely recommend this place. The rooms are clean, the people are nice, and the service that they hive(with a smile) is out of this world. read more

The place looks nice and is very generally comfortable. The customer service we experienced left a lot to be desired. We left our do not disturb sign on the door when we ate breakfast. We returned to the room and left for the day around 10am. As we were leaving I noticed the cleaning staff in our hallway so made sure to remove the do not disturb sign. We returned about 6:20pm and our room was untouched. This is annoying but not the end of the world. We attempted to call the front desk for new towels and soap, phone didn't work. The front desk calls my wife and is fairly rude about why have we been calling the front desk and hanging up; we explain that we couldn't hear anything and the phone seems to be broken. We then explained the lack of housekeeping in our room and they say we can come pick up towels at the front. Minimally, I'd expect an apology and them to send towels up. We go to the front and they explain that if we leave a do not disturb sign up, they won't come by. We tell them it was down all day after about 10 am. They seem not to believe us and imply this is our first time in a hotel. We'd try it again but I'm not impressed. read more

This luxurious hotel met our expectations when it came to an overnight stay. The rooms have a fireplace which made a 50 degree night cozy, they have dishes, stoves, and a refrigerator plus MORE! We were very satisfied with our stay. There's a golf course right behind the hotel and also a dog park. In the evening we joined the fun at the fire pits which were located right outside of the main lobby. We also noticed a pool area with a hot tub inside! There was a variety of food when it came to breakfast and the staff was so kind. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort away from home. read more

We booked a room at Inn of the Mtn Gods. Rooms okay but over priced for what it was. We went straight to the spa. Tandem massage was $350 but we were unable to book as "they were booked up thru end of December" despite the fact that the spa was empty while we were there. We went to the casino and were accosted by a rude security guard for not wearing a mask despite the fact that the majority of the guests were maskless and we were told prior to check in that only staff were required to mask. He was so rude that we decided to check out despite the 5 hour drive to get there and with no reservation anywhere else. While we were re packing the new guests who took our room walked in. No masks. We called the Elegante from the parking lot and they took us in. Our room overlooked the golf course, had a separate sitting area with fireplace, private balcony, oversized jacuzzi tub and free breakfast for half the cost of our room at Inn of the Mtn God. While we were being checked in they booked dinner reservations at the Texan. Best steak and lobster I've ever eaten. We got the golf package for a huge cost savings on their course and they booked us a tandem massage at the Adobe spa $150 / 1 hr. The Elegante saved our 42nd anniversary trip. Can't say enough good things. read more

My family and I just returned from a trip to Ruidoso. The highlight of the trip was the MCM Elegante Hotel. It is like staying at the Ritz Carlton in mountains. The staff from Steve Tally GM to the front desk ( Vincente and Ruthie) to Suzie the bartender, restaurant and housekeeping was outstanding. So friendly and helpful they would help you with any request. If you are visiting Ruidoso there is no other hotel that compares with the Elegante. It is definitely 5 stars. read more

My family and I decided we would take a two day get away before Christmas and stayed here for the first time. I am glad we did it's a beautiful hotel with friendly staff an indoor pool and sometimes the elk graze in the morning on the golf course behind the hotel. I will definitely be returning. read more

The Elegante is a super convenient lodge right in town with a nice property. The outdoor fires were quite nice and even the s'mores kits at the front desk made it feel very friendly. The menu was quite limited in the lounge but easy to order out. The pool and hot tub were nice additions. The rooms were clean & fresh. Breakfast had many nice local options as well as traditional items and better yet included in our rate. The front desk staff were quite helpful and friendly. Laundry facilities on site great add in case you need to refresh your wardrobe after great outdoor options. Definitely recommend this hotel! read more
