My husband, brother and law, and myself stayed in the suite at the Sitzmark from Friday to today. We had a great experience! Lisa was very welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious. They set the bar high for a "two star" hotel. It's charm provides the ultimate mountain lodge experience. Although a bit dated, we didn't mind since everything was spotless! The cleaning team provided exemplary daily service. The staff was very accommodating and quickly fixed any small issues I did have (like resetting my fan/AC) The Sitzmark is nestled between the " Ruidoso Welcome Sign" and midtown- Walking distance to several boutique shop and eateries. It's minutes from Inn of the Mountain Gods, Ski Apache, Penguin Park, a city ice skating rink, plenty of beautiful nature trails, and plenty more! I will say, the food options here aren't great and most serve the same thing. Also, hardly anyone answers the phone in this town. The perfect spot for a little getaway. Everything was exceptional. The room was cute, and had the cabin feel to it. It was such a clean space, I was so impressed with everything about our stay. Loved all the little things that made it really stand out from the others. Like the feeling of it being so welcoming. The management was so friendly and even made sure the room was comfortable with the ac on prior to our arrival. It even had a cute little sauna made out of a whiskey barrel! 10/10 will definitely stay here again the next time in Ruidoso! read more

What a gem this place is! We came to town for a long weekend which unfortunately took place right after the fires and flooding hit this lovely town. Luckily the Inn wasn't affected by either and we were able to stay. We booked the suite above the office that has 2 queen beds, a small kitchen area and a small living room. It was great and provided us with everything we needed. The Inn is located close to town shopping and lots of places to eat. The best part though was the on site manager Lisa. From the minute we arrived till we left she went above and beyond to make our stay the best possible experience. What an asset she is to this Inn! My husband and I had a great three night stay here and would certainly stay here again. Highly recommend! read more

fairly priced, adorable little place has everything you need. This compact hotel is charming and carefully kept up, with comfortable beds and pleasant outdoor seating evening or morning. Although the carpets and rooms are on the vintage side, our bathroom had sparkling white tile and new fixtures. Coffee and oatmeal provided in the lobby for breakfast made it easy to get going in the morning, along with very tasty homemade muffins. The sauna looked very cute and appealing for a winter stay. Staff were friendly and seemed to take it seriously to keep the atmosphere peaceful. Ski decor was appealing even in summer. A place to remember! read more

Absolutely adored this place! Not only were the front desk people extremely nice and helpful, but the rooms are adorable!!! You absolutely can't beat the price. And the rooms come complimentary with really nice shampoo and conditioner. The bathroom was extremely clean, the bedroom was also, loved the cute southwest furniture. They made complimentary muffins in the morning and hot chocolate and coffee. I just fell in love with this town, and can't wait to come back. I can't say enough good things about this adorable motel. This Inn is absolutely amazing!! The owners/staff were so kind and ready to help with anything we needed. The double queen suite is so cozy and clean. loved the chalet vibe and the decor. The retro fireplace was so cool. Most of all this is the most clean and affordable place I have ever rented in Ruidoso. Do not spend money on Air BnB's. There are no hidden fees at this place. I don' think I will ever stay anywhere else in Ruidoso again. The muffins and coffee in the morning were perfect! Did not get to use the whiskey barrel sauna but you bet I will next time. You certainly can't go wrong here. Reasonably priced. Owner very friendly and originally from Oklahoma. There is something to be seen around every corner. It sits in the Pine Forrest in Ruidoso, NM. Traveling throughout New Mexico over the last month I have to say that Sitzmark Chalet is one of the cutest & most comfortable stays! The hotel owners, Lori and Todd are nothing short of spectacular. After a stressful afternoon of dealing with an unorganized, impolite hotel I arrived to a very happy, helpful person - Lori! She instantly put me at ease, and made sure that I had a room here at her hotel. When traveling - having a warm, clean, safe place to stay is an extremely important thing to me. This lodge delivered it. No bedbugs or creepy front desk people here. (If you've traveled throughout the U.S. - especially smaller towns, you know what I am talking about.) The rooms are awesomel!! With the wood burning fireplace, country decor I feel like I am tucked away at my grandmothers cabin. Not only do you get a cozy room, they have a spa and BBQ you can use as well. Perfect for the end of any day!! You can tell that this place is well kept and cared for. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a warm, cozy, pleasant stay. read more

I recently had a family member in the ICU in Ruidoso. I needed a place to stay and after reading a number of reviews, I selected Sitzmark. Jennifer and Heather were amazing. My situation was very dynamic and they were fantastic as I had to change my reservation multiple times and return a week later to retrieve a vehicle. I stayed with them again. They genuinely cared and did everything they could to ease the logistics of my trip. THANK YOU! I also really enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and motif. The rooms are small but extremely well maintained and clean. I had a small fridge, microwave, satellite TV, table and sitting chair with a footstool. I even had a few minutes to sit on their covered porch by their outdoor sauna and watch the rain. If you want a great place to stay operated by great people, look no further! read more

We loved that the staff/ front desk was very welcoming from the second we got there. She asked us our names and was sweetly conversational. The decor is very comfortable rustic and everything is very clean. You get a small town and personalized stay experience with excellent customer service. We stayed here on a road trip through New Mexico. It's an adorable place that also happens to be very affordable. Nice, clean rooms and friendly and helpful staff. There is a nice courtyard area that has a couple of grills too! I thought that was a nice touch. We were busy skiing, eating, and shopping while there (plus there was snow on the ground) but it adds a nice touch. It's also close to a lot of restaurants and shopping as well. I have to give the Sitzmark 5 stars. When we come to Ruidoso. The hosts, Lori and Todd are friendly, and they are concerned about the guests. This time around, Lori helped me map out a great hike for me and my son and his friends. I love the affordable price, the clean, spacious, comfortable rooms, and the cozy courtyard - I love having my early morning coffee with the hummingbirds. There are pricier places to stay ... but the quaint and homey Sitzmark is the place I want to be. read more

My family and I decided to go to Ruidoso on a whim, according to trip advisor this was a great place to stay. I was extremely please to find that the reviews of this place were accurate. We had a very pleasant stay. We drove in late and they left the keys on the front office for us, the place was extremely quite, the rooms were super clean. They have little muffins in the morning which were very tasteful. The beds were soft and they have cute fireplaces in the rooms. This place could have charged a lot more for what they offered it was a great value for the room! The location to downtown was very good and I plan to stay here again next time I am in town. If you have the opportunity to stay here and your low on funds, I would strongly recommend this place as it is very family friendly and it seems like a very safe place to stay. read more

So they have new owners, which seem very nice. We were the only guests and had prepaid, it would have been nice had they turned the heat on in the room so our teeth weren't chattering. The Sauna didn't work. The "breakfast" they offer, shouldnt' be bothered with. Muffins in a warmer that didn't look done and coffee, outside where it's freezing cold. Please get better towels and give more than one a piece. I couldn't find a pen in the rooms. A bunch of small things that really wouldn't be terribly hard to fix. I wouldn't stay again as there are many choices. However, you might like it just fine. read more

My room was good sized, comfortable and reasonably quiet. Check-in was very friendly. The premises are cute. It was Memorial Day Weekend, and parking was a little tight, but other than that, nothing seemed crowded, and there was overflow parking across the street. Prices were reasonable. Booked this inn due to good reviews from several sites. Rates a great value, booked through the inn's site, and could even apply a weekday discount. Owner asked our reason for visiting the area and provided a map and recommendations for restaurants and activities for us to try. So far we have been extremely pleased with our visit. Stayed here this weekend. The room was small however it was just perfect for the two of us. The rates were affordable, room was clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and friendly. The muffins, coffee and fresh fruit in the morning was nice as well. The noise machine in the room was great for blocking out traffic noise. Only issue was the WiFi was not working properly on our visit. Wasn't able to connect our our phones, tablet or laptop. BUMMER! I do believe they are working to correct this issue. This is a great small comfortable Inn. First off understand you're not staying in a chain 5-Star hotel. The Sitzmark gives you exactly what you need for a comfortable nights stay. The rooms are cozy and comfortable with adequate furnishings. The building is older and so lots of squeaks and noises at night are expected. The staff is amazingly friendly which really makes a difference. Fresh muffins and coffee provided for free in the morning. Tana is the most amazing host! Her cookies and muffins are out of this world! She even let me borrow silverware to eat my dinner when I didn't have it. Helped me carry my luggage. Very Gracious. Her son is a doll! He took me to my room and high fived me when leaving (I think he is 5). Such a wonderful place. I will be back because of how well this family treated me. We where so lucky to stay here on our honeymoon, we always had great parking and our room was so cozy! The pillows where so comfy, and having easy access to entertainment and attractions was very nice. Even though located on a main road, the room was nice and quiet.
