I have stayed at River Resorts for two visits for approx 3.5 months. This will forever be my go-to when I come to visit Ruidoso. What a magical place. Ruidoso is beautiful. The animals and the landscapes are breathtaking. Love it. Staying at the River resorts is conveniently located close to town. Trust me you won't be disappointed. Ruidoso River Resort met and exceeded all expectations. The condo was well furnished, the public areas are beautifully landscaped, and the staff is extremely helpful. Cannot say enough good things about this place! Kinda don't want to because I feel like it may be a hidden gem... 1. Location - one block from the main drag. 2. Price - about the same as a hotel and so much better. 3. Accommodations - we stayed in Whispering Pines which is small dog friendly with large rooms and is pleasantly decorated. There's a large balcony which would be perfect for warmer weather. Loved that they provided so many towels and had a carbon monoxide detector. 4. Property - wonderful landscaping with gas grills and a gas fire pit that is turned on every evening. We came for 4 nights over Christmas and couldn't have been happier. Already planning a trip back and my new life goal is to buy one of these condos. read more

We loved this place. All the amenities, full kitchen, fireplace, washer/dryer. The room was beautifully decorated. Outdoor courtyard was amazing. We had a room that overlooked the river, there were deer and Elk that walked close by. A few negatives( lot across the street was used to haul in dirt and rocks) we were woken up every morning by sounds of loader back up alarms, all day until about 3:30 pm. Check location of room Pryor to booking. This is not the fault of the resort. Only one bbq grill out of the three was working. Overall everything was beautiful as described and we would love to stay here again. read more

This was a last minute trip and we were pleased to be able to get a reservation over the Christmas holidays. During the reservation online, it lets you know which apartments were available to choose from which allowed us to choose a 3rd floor apartment. Place was clean and came with reasonable amenities (ie towels, soap bar, washing liquid). You need to bring your own toiletries which is not a big issue for us since we often bring our own. Having an elevator to the 3rd floor was helpful since we have kids with strollers. The location is great. Its just behind the Main Street where all the shopping are. read more

OMG! How have I never heard of this place? It is beautiful inside and out. The rooms are spacious, huge doors, full kitchen, fireplace, a patio, and a double reclining sectional that is super comfy. The patio view is to a beautiful forest looking courtyard that has tables, grills and a man-made stream. The shopping strip is one block away. We planned a trip to Ruidoso while covid numbers were looking better. Currently Ruidoso is almost locked down lodging is at a 40% occupancy and outside activities are even limited to 25%. We found out we would need to quarantine in NM because we are coming from Texas. I contacted with almost 30 days notice to cancel our trip- with a child with health issues and a positivity rate of 22% id expect understanding during Christmas. However we were charged a $250 fee for canceling which is ridiculous and no one was willing to work with us to make this work for both of us. I DO NOT recommend this business unless you are 100% certain life won't happen to you. read more

Spent two days here out of a two week driving vacation. It was the perfect place to relax after hiking around the town and a couple of walking trails. Very Convenient - Only 1 block off the main street shopping venue. Everything in the condo was nice and clean. As a caffeine addict, it was nice to have a working coffee pot instead of the standard Keurig machine. Peaceful courtyard with benches, deer statues, and a fountain all surrounded by the bounty of God's beautiful mountains. I highly recommend it if you're looking for more than just a place to sleep in a noisy hotel room. read more

There are so many rental options in the area that it was overwhelming but we selected RRR because it seemed to be centrally located. And it is! Just a block off the main drag but still secluded and quiet. The condo was in tip top condition. Everything seemed new and well cared for. The management was super helpful. The grounds are beautiful. This place was a real find for our family--less than a year old so it was CLEAN, had newer amenities and was walking distance to town. They were easy to work with in reservations and in general, just felt more homey than a resort. We cooked at home most nights after a day of skiing and sightseeing and the reason they don't have 5 stars is because they were missing some silly things in the kitchen like a veggie peeler. My husband and I have stayed at this property 5 times and love it. The management is very nice and helpful. The location couldn't be better, right on the river and one block from downtown. We love walking to Sacred Grounds from here for breakfast. We always stay in the same condo, well decorated, comfy bed and it's kept very clean. We stayed for Spring Break and could not have been more pleased. The place was very clean and the staff was very courteous and helpful. They have a nice fire pit, bar-b-ques and a hot tub for guests to use. The accommodations were very nice and felt very cozy. A nice natural gas fireplace and big balcony were perfect. Our stay from beginning to end was a pleasure. If we go back to Ruidoso this is the only place we will stay. This place is centrally located to the strip so we did not have to drive to get food and shop. We wanted a little getaway out of the city and this was the perfect place for my husband and I. The actually condo small was amazing! So clean, beautifully decorated and well furnished for a visitor with bathroom items, kitchen utensils, extra blankets and pillows. Apparently we were there during the slow time of the year, but it was very quiet and peaceful. They have a 10PM curfew to maintain the quiet, but it wasn't an issue for us. The grounds are beautiful and in perfect walking distance of downtown for shopping and good food. The only thing I was disappointed by was the staff members I interacted with (3 total). The woman there that checked us in was not friendly whatsoever and we had to call her and ask for directions to the resort and she was very rude. I also called at one point and left a voicemail requesting a call back, but never did. Also, the hot tub was out of service and no one mentioned it to us upon booking and it didn't look like anyone was working to fix it. Kind of a bummer, but not a crisis by anymeans. Lastly, the office was very poorly market. We weren't sure where we were supposed to check in, so they could do a better job marking it for a more welcoming appeal. Overall it was a beautiful resort, perfect for a relaxing getaway. read more

Spent the weekend with family and friends at the Ruidoso River Resort. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the condos, the cleanliness of the place and the location. We were a little puzzled that they were not stocked with shampoo and lotion, but it was not a big deal. The primary purpose of my travel was to hike in the Lincoln National Forest/White Mountain Wilderness area. This location was within reasonable driving distance and provided quiet from the typical resorts or large hotels, but still in a nice downtown area with different shops and eateries. The staff is extremely friendly, and the condos are very nicely laid out and decorated. My condo even had a Wii system.
