Long Story Short 2: Same deal that come smog time, with the service engine light on, that is would not pass the smog to complete registration. With all the efforts the final outcome would be that the Cat Converter would need to be replaced. The one that was replaced 2 years prior did have a warranty and I was kept informed of what needed to happen, how much would it cost me, and that this could all be down prior to a mid month registration date. Bingo! These guys will go the extra mile to get your problem solved. And isn't that what we all want? Went for a brake and lamp check and smog check my car had just past smog elsewhere but I waited over 30 days to do dmv stuff. I didn't know I bought a salvaged title car hence the brake and lamp check. Thought I was going to spend 300 bucks ended up 1600 for a couple hrs of work. Can't say they did bad work just think they took me for a ride. They said car didn't pass smog and that the rotors were past the limit yet it had passed the smog 36 days before and had not been driven. It had also passed the pre inspection approximately 30 days prior to this inspection. Expensive lesson! read more

I cannot express enough thanks to Greg McGrath at Jobe's! On September 6th I took my car into xxxxxxxxxxTirexxxxxx at around 1:00pm to make sure that I had good air pressure, (I was leaving the next morning on a road trip. See, I'm responsible!) My tire place found a nail in one tire, so they fixed it. They also rotated my tires for me. Very nice, thank you. However, in the process of rotating the tires, they "discovered" that 2 of my lugs were frozen, so much so that they broke one clean off! Now, I'm no expert, but I'm thinking a broken lug + road trip = no good. Luckily AmxxxxxxxxxxCompany directed me to Jobe's who handles this kind of stuff. When I got to Jobe's, Greg explained that they were booked out for a whole week. (don't cry.... don't cry......) I explained my predicament and Greg said he would see what he could do. At this point it's almost 4pm, and Jobe's closes at 5pm. (see, xxxxxxxxxTirexxxxxxx took well over the 45 minutes that they promised to fix & rotate my tires). I got a ride home and hoped, and waited, and then I prayed a bit. Greg called me around 5:30 to let me know that they were able to fix the damaged lugs. One broken clean off, one completely frozen, and WEIRD! one that was spinning loosely. (Basically I'm going to eventually need a new axle.) I'm a bit baffled at how 3 lugs & studs were so badly damaged during a tire rotation. Maybe xxxxicasxxxxxxxpany doesn't train their people on proper torque and what-not. All I can say is that Greg saved my sanity, my road trip, and taught me some stuff about lugs, studs, and axles. Probably more than I'll remember. Greg, thank you. Terrible. Went in just to get a smogg check. Charged $96 for the test. I had been to 5 other places that were all booked, needed it done same day so I went for it. After running the test they came back and said on board computer diagnostic had not reset after I had had some work done on it, no big deal. Then said they ran the complete test and it passed numbers wise but I should have more tests run on the car because numbers came back higher then average. And no free retest. The other smogg shop I usually go to has free retest as long as it's with in 30 days. Not this place. They will happily charge you $100 for a 65 dollar service . Not offer a retest, and try to up sale up on something you probably don't need. And say have a nice day as you walk out with $100 less money with in 20 minutes and knowing exactly the same info you knew before enter the shop. Spent 20 minutes and $100 for nothing . read more

Over the last seven years I have experienced problems with two of my cars. Upon hearing from a local mechanic working on my cars that he had done as much as he could to help, the mechanic recommended Jobes Repair. Of course, knowing Greg and Jason so well, it was a simple trip there to have them diagnose the problems and go to work on the repairs. Greg and son Jason are excellent businessmen.,honest trustworthy ,excellent communicators, caring and and outstandingly intelligent mechanics on all makes and models and makes of automobiles. They employee outstanding intelligent dedicated veteran technical and automotive experts to work alongside of them.They all communicate with each other hourly and daily while finding and then repairing whatever needs to be done on my cars. Over several years two of our cars required expert diagnostics .On car was found to need a complete new engine replacement. This was startling to say the least, but after consulting with both of these fine experts, we deiced it was worth turning over the work to them. The new engine and that particular car served us for many years without a single problem. What a complete joy and carefree feeling it was to drive away in a car cared for by these fine mechanics. Years later, my newest car (with almost 100,000 miles)began having problems electrically(all the bells and whistles which modern cars have inside them). Without a second thought ,I immediately went to Greg and Jason at Jobes Repair Services. They kept my car for exactly one week checking every part of the car and found several computer based problems(in addition to calling Detroit where the car was manufactured for specific schematics and checking on over 9,000 exact same makes of this vehicle and finding similar problems with each of them before making a final decision).Jason and Greg called me daily to keep me up to date on the repairs, and explaining the cost involved as well as requesting my permission to go ahead with repairs(and informing me the reasons for the repairs and why in their expert opinions,why they were proceeding with these exact repairs) Upon receiving my repaired car, Jason and Greg also made recommendations on how the car should be cared for from this time forward ,what we could expect as far as performance ,how to drive it and for how long before reporting back to them on the cars performance(or bring it back for guaranteed further repairs). Once again, driving away from their shop was a complete pleasure and satisfying drive home without worry of further problems(and none have occurred since and I really do not anticipate there will be,but if it should have a problem I know very confidently Jason and Greg will welcome the car back for further review and repair). I took my car there for a smog check the owner mike worked on my car he was notified of the aftermarket part I had on, he performed a smog check knowing that he was not going to pass my car did not have a carb sticker he charged me $55 to not pass my car. he did the test knowing my car was not going to pass instead of telling me like a proper business man. This is not my first review for Jobe's auto repair but because of super service I want to write another review about a different vehicle issue. I had my windshield replaced a couple years ago by a different "Windshield specialist". That windshield leaked & apparently cause a few electrical problems. Because Jobe's has become my "vehicle service" of choice I decided to see who they recommended for the windshield repair. There reply was well first we need to see what the problem is for sure.
